487 Too High(2/6)

"never mind."

The masked guard helped Thales pull up the pillow and let him lean on it. He also helped the boy tuck the quilt in.

Lying back on the bed, Thales realized that he was breaking out in a cold sweat.

It was soaked and I don’t know when the lining was changed.

Thales pressed the bandage under the lining, and his nose was filled with the smell of medicine.

He took a deep breath in the pain and realized that they were in a strange room.

Dark, gloomy, and narrow.

The room was not big. It was only a dozen steps from his bedside to the door. There was a small desk beside the bed. A wooden window next to the desk was tightly closed, and a few traces of daylight were vaguely exposed through the cracks in the window.

bright light.

There was an eternal lamp placed on a wooden platform in the distance, barely illuminating the room.

But Thales, who was lying on the bed, squinted his eyes and discovered that although the bed board and desk were relatively tidy, the four walls of the room were dark and thick, and there were even a few strands of cobwebs left on the ceiling and corners.

“Where is this place?”

Thales spoke with difficulty, feeling his throat was dry and hoarse.

"Blade Tooth Camp."

The masked guard walked to the edge of the wooden platform, and when he came back, he already had a glass of water in his hand.

"You slept all day and all night."

So we're back.

one day one Night

so long

Thales gratefully took the water glass and poured water on his throat that seemed to be burning dry.

While Yodel watched him drink water, he grabbed a bunch of ropes beside the bed and pulled gently.

"Jingle Bell"

There was a faint ringing of bells outside the door.

"The doctor said that you need to eat." Under Thales' doubtful gaze, Yodel explained simply.

Before Thales could react, there were faint quarrels and footsteps outside the door.

"Ring, bell, that's a bell"

"I swear I heard the bell ringing. Felicia said it was the way a gentleman wakes up the bed and wakes up the servant. No, I don't think it's haunted. Okay, coward, I'll go by myself."

The owner of the words and steps was obviously in a hurry, and many unexpected and panicked collisions could be heard along the way.

"boom"

The next moment, as the door was slammed open, Yodel's figure disappeared into the air.

Thales, who was leaning on the bed, narrowed his eyes and looked at the man who rushed into the door in a hurry and maintained his balance awkwardly.

This is a soldier, and his clothes look familiar.

"Who are you"

Thales put down the empty water glass and said doubtfully.

The soldier finally managed to maintain his balance. When he saw Thales, his expression suddenly changed. He was first surprised and then happy.

"I fell into a big grass and became muddy"

"Mud finally had sex"

The soldier spoke with a strong Xihuang accent, but he seemed to realize something, and immediately coughed hard a few times, subconsciously stood at attention, and switched to the more standard Xihuang common language unique to the messenger.

"I mean, your noble and handsome Highness, seeing your sex, everyone in our Blade Tooth Camp will be moved to death."

Thales's forced smile froze.

The rather excited soldier stared at Thales who was weak on the bed, as if he was afraid of missing a glance, and at the same time said a long series of words in a stiff and mechanical way:

"Ahem, your dripping forehead is dripping, or is it dripping with ours, your pussy is shining?"

The soldier lowered his head every time he said a word, his face changing back and forth with the occasional bad rhetoric, accompanied by stuttering from time to time:

"In short, we will work hard to protect the kingdom's borders, keep an eye on the desert, and handle the orcs well. Your Majesty, please rest assured. Sorry, this seems to be the last paragraph, cough cough."

"Well, my team and I are honored to get you. I mean get you, no, pick you up."

Thales coughed hard, interrupting his welcome speech that was full of mistakes.

"Okay, thank you, soldier, I understand your enthusiasm," Thales weakly pointed at the soldier's waist:

"There is no need to read the rest of the manuscript."

The soldier's face turned red, and he awkwardly stuffed the "cheat sheet" filled with writing and drawings held up to his waist into his belt:

"Well, our clerk who was responsible for writing letters died half a month ago."

"You are the only one here." Thales looked outside the door and saw only dim lights.

The embarrassed soldier suddenly stood up and replied:

"There is also the strange fire and the spirit blade. She has just changed her shift, and Mi Yan hasn't come yet. We have to come up every half hour to check on you. We are afraid that you will be killed by the unjust ghost, or that the spirit blade, who is crazy about money and wants to sneak into the bed and kill you.

On"

Thales raised his eyebrows.

The soldier felt something was wrong as soon as he said the words, and his expression changed:

"Sorry, you know I didn't mean it"

He squeezed out a smile in a panic, his hands nowhere to be placed:

"I mean, your noble and handsome Highness, we have always taken good care of you and love you as our own son."

The more he talked, the worse he got.

Thales, who was mentally tired, felt a little more energetic after he was nagging him like this.

He sighed and stretched out his hand to hold back the soldier's remaining words.

"I remember that you are a snake-hand, a person with supernatural powers."

"He is the new captain under Baron Williams."

The soldier named Snake Hand was slightly startled, and then showed ecstasy.

"Ah, you remember that my name is indeed your noble and handsome Highness. Yes, Your Highness, please remember me. I am the Snake Hand under Lord Williams. I am loyal and have never committed smuggling, tax evasion or organized crime.

I have a criminal record, and I have been bleeding, sweating and crying for the kingdom every day since I was recruited by you."

Snake Hand, who was immersed in another round of "showing loyalty", saw Thales's downcast face, coughed quickly, and returned to the topic.

"Originally, the baron wanted to capture some beautiful prostitutes or maids of the great men to make you happy. I meant to warm your bed or something."

"But you know, the camp has just calmed down, so he asked the freak to pay a small amount and let our glorious Stardust Guard Third Commando Team take good care of you, love you, and make you feel comfortable and comfortable.

Walk"

Thales stretched out his hand with a headache, interrupting the long speech that the other party had obviously been brewing all day:

"Thank you, please go and convey my thanks to the Baron, and then"

The prince smiled reluctantly:

"I'm a little hungry."

Snake Hand was stunned for a few seconds, then slapped his forehead.

"Oh, yes, the food is right. The baron stole a lot from those gentlemen. I mean, the nobles generously donated a lot to you and the baron."

Snake Shou said with a beaming expression, and rushed out of the room in a furious manner, leaving Thales with a confused look on his face.

"Strange Fire"

After a series of footsteps, there was a faint shout from the snake hand outside the door:

"Send the food and stop coughing secretly, secretly, um, secretly checking yourself."

Ten minutes later, in the room that was closed again, Thales sat alone at the desk, staring at the food that Snake Shou had just delivered.

He looked at the white bread baked with wheat, oatmeal, goat's milk, and even honey on the dinner plate.

As well as roasted fish, chicken, pork, and many seasonings that are not available in the North.

Snake Hand said that this was collected by Legend Wings from the nobles of the Western Wilderness.

Thales sighed and put a mouthful of broth into his mouth.

Well, it tastes really good compared to scorpions, spiders, and blood-spiked lizards.

Desert God, he will break off all relations with anyone who tells him that the nobles of the Western Wilderness are in a remote place with poor soil, turmoil, danger, poverty and hardship.
