Chapter 63: Five Ancestors and Seven Truths

(First update, please book and vote)

Bai Yuchan is not a person who appeared in the original book of the Divine Condor Heroes, but the fifth ancestor of the Southern Five Patriarchs of Quanzhen Sect in real history.

Yin Zhiping had the same name as Yin Zhiping in his previous life, so he had verified who Yin Zhiping, the Quanzhen Sect, was in real history, so he also had some understanding of the inheritance and history of the Quanzhen Sect.

In real history, the Quanzhen Sect has seventeen ancestors, the Five Patriarchs, Seven True Masters, and the Five Patriarchs are divided into five ancestors from the north and south, with a total of ten ancestors.

The Five Northern Patriarchs were the Emperor Donghua Emperor Xuanfu, Emperor Zhengyang Emperor Zhongli Quan, Emperor Chunyang Emperor Lu Dongbin, Emperor Chunyou Emperor Liu Haichan, and Emperor Ji Emperor Chongyang.

The Five Southern Patriarchs are Zhang Boduan, the true man of Wuzhen Ziyang, Shi Tai, the true man of Xinglin Cuixuan, Xue Shi, the true man of Daoguang Zixian, Chen Nan, the true man of Niwan Ziqing, and Bai Yuchan.

The Seven Truths are the Seven Truths of Quanzhen, such as Ma Yu, Qiu Chuji, who are respected as Seven Truths by the disciples of the Quanzhen Sect of the descendants, and are collectively called the Fifth Master, Seven Truths, together with the Five Patriarchs of the North and South.

The Fifth Patriarch was divided into the five ancestors of the north and south because the later Quanzhen Sect was divided into two sects, the Northern Sect respected the Five Patriarchs of the North, while the Southern Sect respected the Five Patriarchs of the South. The Northern Sect naturally was the Quanzhen Sect and the Seven Truths of Ma Yu and Qiu Chuji created by Wang Chongyang. However, the Southern Sect did not originally belong to the Quanzhen Sect. Its first generation ancestor, Zhang Boduan, was a figure in the Northern Song Dynasty before Wang Chongyang.

Zhang Boduan was born in the first year of Yongxi when Emperor Taizong of Song Dynasty Zhao Kuangyi was in power and died in the fifth year of Yuanfeng of Emperor Shenzong of Song Dynasty. He was from Tiantai, Zhejiang, and because he practiced Taoism in Tiantai Mountain for many years, his sect was also called the Tiantai School. Because he called himself Ziyang Mountain, he later became Ziyang Zhenren, so he was called Ziyang School.

Zhang Boduan was smart and studious since childhood. He was familiar with the classics and history. He was well-versed in the classics and criminal laws, calligraphy and calculation, medical skills, battle formations, astronomy, geography, and art of good, bad, life and life. His Taoist thought also emphasizes the unity of Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism and Confucianism. Many of his works incorporate Confucianism and Buddhism into Taoist doctrines. Moreover, his idea of becoming an immortal is the same as that of Wang Chongyang, who believes that human beings will eventually be difficult to survive forever. Only the soul can immortalize, create inner alchemy techniques, teach people to unite the spirit, and eventually the yang spirit can leave the body and survive forever and transcend life and death.

The art of inner alchemy originated from Zhongli Quan and Lu Dongbin. Before that, the traditional Taoist practice method was the method of talismans and external alchemy. Draw talismans and orders to recruit ghosts and gods; burn elixirs and refine medicines, and you can refine a magic pill. After taking it, you can immediately ascend to life and death, and enter the immortals. For thousands of years, I don’t know how many people want to ask for this medicine for immortality, but none of them can be achieved.

The Zhengyi School of Longhu Mountain and its branches and Taoist schools are the talisman classics, and they also have the methods of refining elixirs and taking medicine, but they are not the main ones. If you can take medicine, you will become an immortal, which is actually a side-door. The Zhengyi School can also distinguish this.

Since Zhong Lu, he has developed the inner alchemy technique and eventually led to the prosperity of the Danding Sect, which has surpassed the talisman faction. One south and one north, it belongs to Zhang Ziyang and Wang Chongyang. The so-called inner alchemy technique is to put it bluntly, which is the technique of qi refining and guiding it. It emphasizes the dual cultivation of nature and life, and practice starts with life skills.

The inner elixir is relative to the outer elixir. Traditional outer elixir is to put various medicinal materials into the furnace and cauldron and burn it with fire. Finally, a pill is refined. The inner elixir uses the human body as the furnace and cauldron, and uses the method of qi refining and guiding it to refine the three treasures of essence, energy and spirit to form a golden elixir. Finally, the elixir is broken into a god and obtains the immortal Yang God, also known as the Yuanshen.

However, Zhang Ziyang did not create a major sect like Wang Chongyang, so it did not have the great influence caused by Wang Chongyang. The Southern Sect has always been a single lineage. Zhang Ziyang passed on Shi Tai, Shi Tai passed on Xue Shi, Xue Shi passed on Chen Nan, and Chen Nan passed on Bai Yuchan again. It was not until Bai Yuchan that he had acquired a few more disciples and began to form a sect group. Later, the Southern Sect of Quanzhen Sect was merged into one because the two sects were the same as what they wanted. The Tiantai Sect was classified as Quanzhen Sect and became the Southern Sect of Quanzhen Sect. Zhang Boduan, Shi Tai, Xue Shi, Chen Nan, and Bai Yuchan were also honored as the Southern Fifth Ancestors, and were ranked alongside the Northern Fifth Ancestors and the Seventh Emperors.

Yin Zhiping was surprised to think of who Bai Yuchan was. One was surprised that he actually met Bai Yuchan, the fifth ancestor of the Southern Five Ancestors; the other was surprised that this world was not a real historical world, but a world composed of a novel. He didn't expect that Bai Yuchan would appear, and this person obviously did not appear in the original book. But now Bai Yuchan appeared, and it still appeared at the hero conference held by Guo Jing and Huang Rong.

Bai Yuchan also saw the surprised look on Yin Zhiping's face and asked, "Have you heard of my name?"

Yin Zhiping came back to his senses and nodded, "I have heard that I have admired the name of Ziyang Zhenren for a long time." He pointed out the name of Ziyang Zhenren Zhang Boduan, which naturally means that he has some understanding of Bai Yuchan's lineage.

Bai Yuchan smiled and nodded and said, "Fellow Daoist Yin has some understanding of our Tiantai Sect, that's great. I came here, but I actually came to visit several real people from Quanzhen Sect. When I was walking down the mountain in Jiangnan the next year, I heard about the name of Daoist Yin. I originally wanted to see him, but I never found it. Later, I heard that Daoist Yin disappeared for no reason after entering Sichuan on a boat. It was not until last year that I appeared in the world again and then returned to Zhongnan Mountain."

"I actually had the intention to visit several real people in the sect, but I had been plaguing the world and had not been able to do it. But the idea of this year came to my south. So I wanted to leave for Zhongnan Mountain this year, but after passing Jiangbei, I heard that Guo Daxia and his wife held a hero conference here. I think the Quanzhen Sect is the largest sect in the world today. I will definitely send people to participate in such a major event. I searched for someone to inquire. As expected, I turned to Dasheng Pass and waited here, so I didn't have to continue north and travel more than a thousand miles."

When Yin Zhiping heard this, he was surprised. He didn't expect that when he went down the mountain to walk in the south of the Yangtze River the next two years ago, Bai Yuchan wanted to come and see him, but he left it alone because of his disappearance later. He didn't expect that Bai Yuchan came here to attend the hero conference now, just to wait for the people from the Quanzhen Sect here.

He bowed and bowed, saying, "I'm sorry for the troubles of fellow Taoist Bai. But I don't know why Fellow Daoist Bai came to visit?"

Bai Yuchan said, "I can't say anything sorry. It's all my own business and it has nothing to do with fellow Taoist Yin. In this visit, in addition to discussing Taoist Dharma with several real people, I also have other important matters to discuss. I will make a special trip tomorrow morning. Let's talk in detail. At that time, I will also ask fellow Taoist Yin to introduce the three real people Qiu, Hao and Sun to me."

Now this occasion is indeed not a suitable place for discussion. Yin Zhiping smiled slightly and did not ask any further questions. He only agreed to Bai Yuchan and said, "That's natural." Then he toasted Bai Yuchan for a few glasses of wine and said goodbye.

He noticed that Bai Yuchan also wore a sword around his waist, but he didn't know whether Bai Yuchan could fight martial arts. He could not tell from Bai Yuchan's appearance alone. However, he guessed that he could do it in his heart, and his martial arts should be quite good. He also vaguely remembered that he had read the information about Bai Yuchan in his previous life, which said that Bai Yuchan was "Ren Xia killed people, and his death was caused to Wuyi when he was young." If Bai Yuchan had no martial arts skills and was a weak scholar, then how could he have the ability to fight Ren Xia to fight.

That night, the heroes drank happily and parted with joy.

Yin Zhiping and his group returned to the room. On the way, Yin Zhiping said to Qiu Chuji: "Master, I met someone on the table tonight."

"Oh?" Qiu Chuji stopped and turned to look at him. If he had met some ordinary people in the martial arts world, Yin Zhiping would not have come to tell him specifically. Since it was so special, it was obvious that what Yin Zhiping met tonight was not an ordinary person.

As soon as Qiu Chuji stopped, the other five people also stopped.

Yin Zhiping said: "This man is called Bai Yuchan, and he is also a Taoist priest. He is the descendant of the lineage of Zhang Boduan, a true man in Ziyang, who has been passed down to this generation."

Upon hearing this, Qiu Chuji couldn't help but look surprised and moved, and said, "Is it the successor of Zhang Ziyang?" He turned to look at Hao Datong and Sun Buer. Both of them looked surprised, and then said, "Before his life, Master Chongyang also mentioned Zhang Ziyang to us, saying that he was also a senior master who emphasized the unity of the three religions and had a glimpse of the great way. He admired him very much. It's a pity that Zhang Ziyang had already become an immortal and had not been able to meet him at that time."

Hao Datong and Sun Buer both nodded. It was obvious that Wang Chongyang did say this to their disciples before his death.

After a pause, Qiu Chuji continued: "The Taoist lineage of Ziyang Zhenren is a single disciple. His successor is Shi Tai, the true man of Xinglin, and Xue Daoguang, the true man of Zixian. This Zhenren Xue is a native of Shaanxi. According to his teacher and his disciples, he said that he had met with Xue Zhenren, and after a long conversation, he benefited a lot. This Zhenren Xue has a strange life experience. He first studied literature and became a Confucian scholar, and then became a monk and studied Buddhism. His Dharma name was Zi Xian, and he was also called Zen Master Piling. He met Shi Zhenren in the fifth year of Chongning of Huizong, and became a teacher, so he was taught the Taoist Dharma. His master said that his encounter with Zhenren Xue was also quite strange, but it was caused by a fight of wine."

"Doujiu?" Yin Zhiping was shocked when he heard this and said to himself, "Is this Xue Daoguang the wine monk, the real author of the Nine Yang True Sutra? But if it was really him, why did he hide the Nine Yang True Sutra in Shaolin Temple? But if it wasn't him, would there be someone else in the Wine Sutra?"

He asked Qiu Chuji again about the encounter between Wang Chongyang and Xue Daoguang, but Qiu Chuji said that he didn't know the details. Moreover, when Wang Chongyang talked to their disciples, he did not say it in detail, and there was no mention of the "Nine Yin True Sutra" or the "Nine Yang True Sutra".

Yin Zhiping thought to himself, "But I don't know if the wine-fighting monk is someone else, or did the Chongyang Patriarch hide something when he was telling him?" (To be continued.)
