Chapter 50 Deterrence

"I really don't understand why you bought that cat? Or is it a smaller tiger?" Ron complained to Hermione on the train to Hogwarts, "Look at that cat, it frightened the spots!"

"Where is a cat that doesn't catch mice?" Hermione retorted, "Besides, don't you think its fur is brilliant?"

Hermione can indeed say that the cat's ginger fur is thick and fluffy, and it looks good, but its legs are obviously a bit curved, its face looks rough and has a weird squashed look, as if it had rushed to the wall at some point. Overall... I am reserved for Hermione's aesthetic view.

There was another person in this carriage. This man was sitting by the window and was sleeping soundly. He was wearing an extremely worn wizard robe. He was patched in several places, sick and exhausted. He looked very young, but his light brown hair was already mixed with white hair.

"Who do you think he is?" Ron whispered, as if he didn't want to continue the discussion about Sparrow and Mount Crook (Hermione's cat).

"Professor R. J. Lupin," Hermione replied.

"How did you know?" Ron was stunned.

"Didn't it be written on his box?" I pointed to the luggage rack on the upper right, where there was a worn-out small box tied with many ropes, neatly tied. The words "Professor R. J. Lupin" were printed on the corner of the box, and the letters were already peeling off.

"I don't know what he taught?" Ron said, frowned at Professor Lupin's lifeless silhouette.

"Obviously," said Hermione, "there is only one empty seat, right? 'Dark Magic Defense'."

"Well, I hope he can do it." Ron said suspiciously, "It seems like he will be the result of a little magic. Does he look like this?" Then he turned to Harry and asked, "By the way, Harry, what's wrong with you? Why don't you talk?"

Harry glanced at everyone, and then he eavesdropped on the arguments between the Weasleys and his wife, Mr. Weasley's warnings, etc. After he finished speaking, Ron seemed to be struck by lightning, Hermione covered her mouth with her hands, and I was still expressionless.

"Linna, aren't you surprised?" Hermione asked strangely as she looked at me still expressionless.

"What's so surprising about this? No matter how strong the prison is, there are times when prisoners run away. Moreover, if Black really finds us, it's not possible to solve the problem with fear and surprise." I replied lightly.

"You're so calm." Ron grinned.

"Pussy cannot solve the problem, and calmness is your most powerful weapon to deal with emergencies." I said what Professor McGonagall once said.

"...Lina, teach me magic." Harry suddenly said, as if he had made up his mind, which surprised us all at him.

"I know Lina is very powerful, quite powerful. You know she has knocked down Quirrell twice. Last time she was alone in the secret room, she subdued Voldemort's control... that person (then Ron said: 'Why don't you call me this kind of thing?' Hermione said: 'It's useless if you go.'), I know I'm very weak now, so I want to learn from you how to become stronger." Harry said.

"It's okay," I replied. "But the practice time and practice venues have to be used by the twins. They are more familiar with Hogwarts than you think."

"No problem, they will definitely help us, and, can we learn together?" Ron said, and Hermione nodded.

"Of course." I shrugged, actually I'd wanted to do this a long time ago.

"By the way, do you know Hogsmeade very well?" Hermione suddenly changed the subject, "I read from the book that this is the only place in the UK without Muggles-"

"Yeah, I think yes," Ron said indifferently, "but that's not the reason I want to go. I just want to go to Honey Duke!"

"What is that?" Hermione asked.

"That's a candy shop," Ron said, with a dreamy expression on his face, "There's everything there... The little pepper boy - it's smoked in his mouth after eating it - and the oily chocolate balls, full of strawberry custard and ordinary custard, and a really wonderful quill made of candy, you can suck in class, and it looks like you're thinking about what to write next-"

"But Hogsmeade is a very interesting place, right?" Hermione asked anxiously, "The book "The Witcher's Monument" says that the small hotel was the headquarters of the monster rebellion in 1612, and that screaming shed may be the most powerful house in the UK's ghosts-"

But Ron ignored her and was still talking about the Honey Duke.

"Linna, what do you think?" Hermione turned her target to me again.

"It's better to practice magic more and read more books when wasting time." I was telling the truth, but Hermione found it boring.

"But I can't go," Harry said sadly, "the Dursleys didn't sign the consent form for me, and Fudge refused."

"Don't you let me go? But—maybe—Professor McGonagall or someone else would approve you to go—" Ron looked frightened, and he stammered, but only for Harry's wry smile, because everyone here knew who Professor McGonagall was.

"...Or we can find out if there is a secret passage when we are looking for a practice venue-" Ron said again.

"Ron!" Hermione said sharply, "With Blake's impunity, I don't think Harry should have left school secretly-"

"Yes, I expected Professor McGonagall would say this when I asked for approval." Harry said in pain.

At this moment, the train gradually slowed down. We thought we had arrived at the station, but when we looked out the window, there was a valley outside.

"What's going on?" Ron asked at a loss.

"Fix yourself and make sure your luggage will not fall. Look at the train like this, it is very likely that you will stop suddenly." I immediately ordered. Before I could finish speaking, the train suddenly shook and stopped. A sound of banging came from a distance, indicating that the luggage fell off the shelf. Then, all the lights suddenly went out and we were thrown into complete darkness.

"Ouch!" Hermione suddenly shouted, "Ron, that's my feet!"

"Sorry." Ron said.

"Don't move, don't panic, stay in your seat, don't use a fluorescent spell," I whispered, "It's abnormal for the train to stop suddenly. Don't forget what Harry just said. We must always be vigilant!"

Hearing my words, everyone stayed in their seats and kept motionless, even the breathing sounded lowered. Everyone took out their wands and looked at the vague private room door with their eyes that had adapted to the darkness.

"brush--"

The door of the car suddenly opened, and it was Neville, who suddenly fell in.

"Don't move, don't talk, Neville." I walked over quickly and helped Neville up. Hermione next to me quickly closed the door, and Ron and Harry pulled Neville to their seats.

At this moment, a slight whispering sound suddenly appeared outside the door, and the temperature around suddenly began to drop rapidly. I gestured to them, then stood up at the door, Hermione nodded at me, and then suddenly opened the door of the box-

At the door was a monster wearing a cloak and a height that was reaching the ceiling. Its face was completely hidden under the turban, and streams of air conditioning were emitting from its body.

"Thurt~"

I immediately waved my wand, and a lightning light hit the monster with a step back. Then I closed my eyes and concentrated, and waved the wand again. This time it was a white light ball with a tail flew out of my wand and hit the monster directly. It happened that the window in the aisle outside our box was open, and the monster was directly knocked out of the car by the light ball I emitted. I waved my hand again, and the light ball suddenly split into many small light balls, flew out everywhere, and flew towards other boxes.

"Harry! Harry! Are you okay?" At this moment, behind me, Hermione's voice suddenly came to mind, and it turned out that Harry had fainted.

"It's okay," said Harry, who was gradually awakening, "What's wrong just now? Where did that monster go? Who was screaming just now?"

"No one screamed," Ron said.

"But I heard the screams..." Harry said stubbornly.

"Wait for a moment for these things, eat this first." I took out a piece of chocolate from my pocket, handed it to Harry, and took out more chocolate and sent it down, "Eat it, it will be good for you."

Watching them eat chocolate, I took a deep breath and suddenly started singing:

“At first, language emerged;

Words are with God;

Words are God;

The light shines in the darkness;

But darkness doesn't understand the light..."

This is just a requiem I learned in the monastery. I don’t know if it is useful, but I heard that the surroundings gradually became quiet. I think it is still useful?

"What was it just now?" asked Harry, who had calmed down.

"A dementor," said the professor named Lupin, "a dementor from Azkaban."

His sudden voice made everyone stare at him.

"I'm going to talk to the driver, sorry..." As he said that, he left the box.

"You must be fine, Harry?" Hermione asked anxiously.

"I don't understand...what happened just now?" Harry said, wiping the sweat on his face.

"Well... let's say that, the moment Hermione opened the door, the guy - the dementor - stood at the door and looked into the box, I mean, I think it did, I can't see its face - and you - you -" Ron said with some fear, "I think you were scared or something - of course, I'm also scared - you were stiff, falling from your seat, and starting to twitch-"

"At this moment, Lina had already beaten that, um-dementer out, and then we helped you up and you woke up," Hermione continued.

"It's terrible," said Neville, his voice higher than usual, "Do you feel cold when that thing stands at the door?"

"I find it weird," Ron said, twisting his shoulder uncomfortable, "It seems like I will never be happy again..."

"Is there anyone among you - falling from your seat?" Harry asked awkwardly.

"No." Ron said anxiously looking at Harry.

"Don't be ashamed of this, Harry." I said lightly, "That kind of thing is dementors. They will use human happiness as food, and at the same time it will cause fear in people's hearts. The more terrible people have, the less resistant they are to dementors."

"But you didn't panic and repel it!" Harry said loudly.

"Then do you know what kind of training I have undergone? I don't think you are interested in knowing it." I still said in a faint tone.
