Chapter 27 Amanda
"Oliver? You don't seem to be the one who will call me on your own initiative."
Oliver finally called the woman. When the familiar woman, who seemed to always be with a sharp female voice, Oliver's face twitched slightly, and a slightly dark face appeared in his mind, with a woman's face with a cold temperament, and a stern face always seemed to have only such a cold expression.
"I have something to ask you, Amanda." Oliver said patiently.
"It depends on what's going on." The female voice on the other side of the microphone continued: "There is no free lunch in the world, at least I don't have it here."
"I can sell you a little more when I need it." Oliver smiled helplessly: "Is this condition enough?"
Amanda Waller, the manager of an intelligence system in this country, a thorough pursuit of interests, and a sharp and straightforward style. He is a cruel man who does not ask for methods and only seeks results. In her heart, there are only two types of people, one is a useful person and the other is a useless person.
It is useless to talk about feelings or relationships with such people.
She could push her confidant to death without changing her face because of her "need", and could also send more people to death because she saved someone who had nothing to do with her but was of great benefit to her and the departments under her control.
Use land-to-air missiles to destroy a full Eastern Airlines plane just to kill one person inside.
She didn't care at all about the huge storm that might have caused afterwards and innocent deaths! She didn't feel guilty! She didn't regret it!
This is one of the deep impressions left by Oliver and Amanda when they first met. She is a truly unscrupulous person who uses any means to seek her goals. Apart from her gender, Amanda has nothing in her body that makes people think she is a woman.
Even though he had seen hell and all kinds of villains, Oliver could not accept Amanda's style of conduct and methods. If it were not necessary, he really did not want to have any involvement or connection with her anymore.
"You can tell the truth." Amanda's voice came out of the microphone.
Oliver breathed a sigh of relief. He knew that Amanda said this and accepted his deal initially. Of course, if what he mentioned made Amanda feel embarrassed, Oliver also believed that the other party would hang up the phone without hesitation, as if he did not have his own phone call.
Always calm.
Always consider the gains and losses of things.
This is Amanda.
A woman who makes normal people feel uncomfortable or even disgusted.
Always stand at his superiority. If it weren't for her subordinates who had been under her for a period of time, the other party had a understanding of each other and she knew her abilities, Oliver suspected that he would not even have the conditions to impress the other party.
"I want to know the details of a person." Oliver said in a deep voice.
"You ask me for information about someone?"
Amanda's tone on the other side of the phone showed a little surprise. It was very slight, but Oliver sensitively grasped it.
"Yes."
"Oliver, your networking and information channels sometimes make me envious."
Oliver was calm. Amanda said so, of course he would not think that the truth was the case. He did have sources of intelligence that Amanda envied, but it was just a little bit of envy. And that source of intelligence had great limitations, and it was not something he could let him use.
"The people I inquired about do not belong to the underground world, and I need to know the information about that person as soon as possible. Those in the Brotherhood cannot help me in this regard. They are good at capturing people in the underground world." Oliver replied lightly.
"Who is it?" Amanda asked.
"His name is Mengo Storm," said Oliver.
"That young heir to Storm's business?"
Oliver once again heard surprise from Amanda's tone in a short time. With the time and understanding he spent with Amanda, this situation was rare. While speculating and thinking about Amanda's words and tone, he replied distractedly: "Yes."
"He has nothing to say."
Oliver thought he would be subject to some resistance, but Amanda answered surprisingly straightforwardly.
"There's nothing to say?" Oliver was a little confused.
"Yes, the information he can be collected on the Internet can't help you. But I can't disclose it to you at will because it is confidential," Amanda replied in a steady tone.
"It's very troublesome?" Oliver frowned. He didn't care about Meng's identity and how much property he inherited, but he heard something deeper from Amanda's words.
"He has at least two weapons cooperation projects that the military has envied and valued, one of which was launched after he came to power."
“It sounds a bit deep in background.”
"So far, remember you owe me once."
Amanda happily quit the phone.
"It seems that they have met Meng Ao." said Laila, the female assistant beside Amanda.
"That's not what we should care about." Amanda said calmly.
"He is really that trouble?" Leila asked tentatively. Her man Digel was following Oliver. She could calm down on others, but for that man, she still had two softness in her heart.
"It's not him who is troubled, it's the organization behind him that supports him for the time being." Amanda glanced at Leila, and did not expose her thoughts. Instead, she revealed some information to her abnormally: "The scientists and researchers who valued the favor and registration of the organization often had a sentence on their lips. This sentence is very popular in the circle."
Leila's eyes widened.
"I will violate international law when I move!"
Amanda said coldly: "Meng Ao may not be qualified to say this, but his background and his identity in SHIELD are also a big problem. We may not have to be afraid of him, but there is no need to provoke him. I don't want to be stripped of his post like poor William Stryker for the time being."
Two days later.
The basement of the Vuitton Bar.
Oliver was holding his cell phone with an ugly expression: "Why is Laurel's cell phone in your hands?"
"That's because she's with me, and Ms. Moira Quinn, your stepfather, Mr. Walter Steele, and of course, your sister Sia Quinn."
Meng Ao's voice came from the other side of the phone, making Oliver unable to help but hold his hand tightly.
"What do you want to do?" Oliver forced himself to calm down.
