Chapter 27 Shaolin

Shaolin Temple is located at the Wuji Peak of Songshan, Dengfeng City, Henan Province. It is located in the dense jungle of Shaoshi Mountain in the hinterland of Songshan, so it is called "Shaolin Temple". Shaolin Temple was founded in the 19th year of Taihe in the Northern Wei Dynasty. At that time, Emperor Xiaowen ordered the construction of Shaolin Temple on the northern foot of Shaoshi Mountain, Songshan, which was opposite to the capital Luoyang in order to resettle the Indian monk he admired. However, the reason why it really made it famous all over the world and has been famous for thousands of years is that the first ancestor of Zen Buddhism, Venerable Bodhidharma, who has been facing the wall for nine years, has achieved enlightenment. Bodhidharma has great merits in spreading Buddhist teachings, and is also a great master in martial arts. Shaolin Temple inherits the Taoist tradition of Bodhidharma. In Buddhism, it is the ancestral home of Zen Buddhism, and in the martial arts world, it is also the Taishan Beidou in the martial arts world.

At this moment, Li Zhichang and Lin Xianer walked up the bluestone steps, and saw that all the snow on the steps were removed. It seemed that monks had swept away the snow early in the morning to wait for distant guests. Li Zhichang walked in the mountains and forests, and felt the mountain energy entering his chest, his heart was relaxed, and his pace accelerated. Lin Xianer followed closely and soon saw the magnificent palace of Shaolin Temple.

From a distance, I saw snow covered in red eaves, towering clouds, and connected to the temples. I don’t know how many of them are. The grand atmosphere is so grand that it can be called the best in the world.

Li Zhichang slowly spoke: "Li Zhichang from Zhongnan came to visit the temple at the appointment of Master Xinmei." His words mixed with profound internal strength easily entered the temple through the gate.

Deep inside the temple, a courtyard is silent, and the snow melts on the bamboo leaves.

Deep in the bamboo forest, there is another elegant Zen house. Looking in from the supported window, you can see two people playing chess.

On the right is an old monk with an ancient appearance. His expression was so quiet, as if he had merged with this quiet world.

On the left is a thin and short old man, but his eyes are bright and his nose is like an eagle, making people forget his short figure and can only feel an incomparable authority and courage.

In the world, there are probably only a few people who can play chess against Master Xinhu, the leader of Shaolin, except for this "Bai Xiaosheng".

When these two people were playing chess, they were afraid that nothing could stop them. However, when they heard the name "Li Zhichang", they couldn't help but grow up.

Bai Xiaosheng said: "This guy didn't expect that his martial arts are so skillful. No wonder Master Xinmei was poisoned by him."

Xinhu had not answered yet, but heard a burst of exclamations outside. A monk shouted: "With that Taoist, how dare you break into the Shaolin Forbidden Land so rudely?"

It turned out that Li Zhichang had already entered the temple as he moved his body. His light skills were so high that there were few people who could do it today, so he came to the temple one after another with his voice. As for Lin Xian'er, he asked her to wait outside the temple. Here, he came to the temple for the Bodhidharma Yijin Sutra, and it was not good to bring a female family member.

Xinhu and Bai Xiaosheng pushed out the door and saw a young Taoist priest in white clothes as snowed under the snow were surrounded by monks. He was calm and had a harmonious aura. He was indeed not an ordinary person.

Li Zhichang smiled and said, "Is this Shaolin's way of hospitality?"

The abbot of Xinhu clasped his hands and said, "Originally, Master Li came to the temple and we should sweep the bed to greet him, but there was something that I didn't understand that needed to be explained clearly."

Li Zhichang said: "What's the matter?"

Bai Xiaosheng sneered: "Have you ever met Master Xinmei on the 18th day of the twelfth lunar month?"

Li Zhichang understood in his heart that something might have happened to Xinmei, but he disdained to lie about such things, and even if he denied the other party, he would not believe it. So he admitted it openly and said, "It's true."

Bai Xiaosheng said: "I don't know what you said to Master Xinmei."

Li Zhichang said: "I am talking about who is the real culprit of the stolen Shaolin Buddhist scriptures." At this time, he did not directly say that it was done by Xinpeng and Bai Xiaosheng. He said nothing and said nothing, and the other party would not admit it, but instead asked them to be prepared.

Bai Xiaosheng laughed and said, "How can theft of the Tibetan Buddhist scriptures be secret? How do you know? If Master Xinmei hadn't discovered that you were related to theft of the scriptures, how could he be tragically killed by you?"

The cold wind was like a knife, and a group of jackdaw suddenly appeared on the snow-covered roof. Then, a clear but desolate bell sounded behind the roof. It seemed that even the bell was asking Li Zhichang why he harmed Xinmei.

Master Xinhu said: "No matter whether Tan Yue is the real murderer or not, you are the last person my junior brother has seen before. However, only a few masters in Baoding City can beat my junior brother steadily. Those who have been eliminated, so I hope Tan Yue will give me an explanation."

Li Zhichang said: "I have said what I should say, and I did not kill Xinmei."

Bai Xiaosheng said: "I think you have no way to defend yourself."

Li Zhichang said: "Why do I have to defend myself? I have never done this before, I am afraid that there is another person in the real culprit."

At this time, the first master of Shaolin ranked last, said: "At this time, you still have to show off your verbal benefits and blame others. It can be seen that you have no intention of repentance. It seems that today's monks must break the killing precepts." He became a monk halfway through and brought his skills to his master. He was called "Scholar of Qijie" in front of the forest. He was the one who stole the Sutra, but only Bai Xiaosheng and Li Zhichang knew this. He was impatient at this moment and was about to destroy Li Zhichang and kill the matter.

Li Zhichang said: "Since you have recognized me in your heart, then naturally I will not listen to anything I say. I have heard that Master Xinhu can distinguish right from wrong for a long time, but I am willing to listen to me if I say something?"

Xinhu said: "Tan Yue, but it's okay to say it."

Xinpeng was still cursing, and Li Zhichang glanced at Xinpeng indifferently. He was usually introverted. At this moment, after staring at Xinpeng with great power, Xinpeng couldn't help but feel guilty. He didn't say a word at all.

Li Zhichang said: "Although I have the ability to harm Master Xinmei, I don't necessarily need to be above him to kill Master Xinmei?"

Xinhu said: "If you say it's poisoning or something, it's absolutely impossible. I have carefully investigated Junior Brother Xinmei's Dharma identity and clearly was hit by the murderer's palm. If it weren't for the other party's martial arts skills, how could my junior brother not be able to catch a palm?"

Li Zhichang said: "What if the other party is someone who is very close to Master Xinmei? For example, when you were talking to Master Xinhu, you suddenly moved your palms when you were talking to Master Xinmei, will Master Xinmei not be able to take a palm?"

Bai Xiaosheng said: "You are afraid you don't know the friendship between Master Xinmei and the abbot for decades."

Xinhu clasped his hands and said, "I have known each other for fifty years. If the old monk suddenly exerted his poison, the junior brother would be unable to stop him, but I would be unable to do such a thing."

Li Zhichang said: "The master is indeed broad-minded, but the master has never done it. It may not be that the other heads did not do it."

Xinhu said in a deep voice: "Does Tan Yue doubt my junior brothers? I hope Tan Yue can come up with evidence."
