Chapter 36: Field Service(1/2)

Winters successfully got the internship opportunity from the Army Headquarters Gendarmerie Department [hereinafter referred to as the Gendarmerie Department], but he was the only one. Since he learned that the Gendarmerie Department was not a good place, he felt that there was no need to bring Bud in too, after all, Bud was not a spellcaster.

Bard wanted to go to the equipment department Ma Zhengke, and Winters asked his uncle for help. Andrey found a way to go to the training department, and the three partners separated for the time being.

Standing at the door of the military police, Winters adjusted the collar, smoothed the wrinkles on his uniform, and straightened the outer belt. After carefully tidying up his appearance, he knocked on the door three times.

"Please come in." A sound of a little lack of energy came from the room.

Winters pushed the door with a hat in his left arm, and there was a square table on his right hand. Behind the table was a blond young man in his early twenties, writing something on the paper.

He saluted the military salute in a quick manner, and the blonde young man stood up in panic, trying to return the military salute at a loss. He just raised his hand but put it down again, and finally bowed deeply.

The blonde young man blushed and explained: "I am not an officer, I am just a scribe, you don't have to salute me."

Winters was also a little nervous, and didn't even notice that the blonde youth was wearing only casual clothes, not military uniforms. He smiled and stretched out his hand to the blonde youth, who shook his hand shyly.

"Are you here to find Lieutenant Colonel Field?"

"Yes, I'm Winters Montane, and I'm ordered to train here for a year."

The blonde young man hurriedly walked out from behind the table and led Winters into the office. He said, "Lieutenant Colonel is not here. You can sit and wait for a while. My name is Moluc, and I am the clerk of this office."

Winters was led by Moluc to rest on the bench at the other end of the room, and he looked at the office carefully.

The room that the military police punished was in the second floor corner of the entire Army headquarters building. Obviously, some people wanted to make the lieutenant colonel farther away, the better.

Although the room is remote, it is in the corner, so the lighting is excellent. The whole office is very neat, with a few tables and chairs except for a few filing cabinets, and there are no decorative ornaments, which makes people feel refreshed when they look.

In addition to the door when I came in, there were two other doors in the office. The space behind the door to the west looked large, which was obviously Lieutenant Colonel Field's office. As for the other door, I don't know what was behind it.

"Do you want tea?" Moluc took out a set of porcelain cups and placed them on the small table in front of Winters. It is estimated that the military police department had not received guests for a long time, and the cup was covered with dust. Seeing this, Moluc hurriedly took out his handkerchief and wiped the cup.

"Don't be busy, I won't drink tea." Winters quickly stopped Moluc. People in the Bay Area like to brew spices such as pepper and cinnamon and tea from the Far East. Winters only felt the taste was strange and he had never been used to drinking it.

"What do you want to drink? wine? water?"

"Thank you, there's no need to worry about it." Seeing Moluc's busy look, Winters couldn't bear to see him continue to torture: "Please please introduce me to the Gendarmerie Department."

Moluc scratched his head: "I can't explain it clearly. I am just a clerk. I'll forgive me for any mistakes."

"Please say it."

"Actually, there is nothing to say about the military police department at the headquarters. Two commanders - you are the third, a military policeman of a 100-man team. It's good for you to come here to train in. The work here is very easy. You are only responsible for standing guard for the Army Headquarters. Anyway, no one dares to come here to play wild, so you just need to arrange the guards."

So that's it. Winters finally understood why his uncle said that the headquarters' military police department was a department specially set up for the lieutenant colonel. It was called the military police, but it was actually a guard. It was too aggrieved to have a lieutenant colonel with only one hundred men.

Moluc pointed to the door of the large room: "That is Lieutenant Colonel Field's office."

"Whose office is that other door?" Winters signaled another door leading to a smaller room.

Moluc said without looking back: "Oh, the chief of that office has asked for leave and hasn't been here for a long time. Now the military police department has only two chiefs, you and Lieutenant Colonel Field."

Winters actually regrets a little now. Bard went to Ma Zhengke and promoted his ancestral horse abilities; Andre went to the training office, which would be very interesting.

It was originally lively and bustling for more than 30 times, but now I am the only one sitting here alone, and suddenly I feel a little lonely.

While he was thinking about it, the door of the military police was kicked open, and a fierce figure broke into the room, ignored Winters' existence, kicked open Lieutenant Colonel Field's office and walked in.

I heard a loud roar from the office: "[swear words that make deaf people cry]!"

After a while, Lieutenant Colonel Field came out of the office with a stiff expression, and Winters quickly stood attentively to salute.

The lieutenant colonel asked Winters in a hoarse voice: "Who are you?"

Winters presented his dispatch letter to the lieutenant colonel with both hands: "Entertainment Officer Winters Montagne, come and report!"

Field took the dispatch letter and glanced at it in a hurry, with a lukewarm attitude: "Well... Infantry Department?"

"yes!"

Lieutenant Colonel Field's eyes turned to the Three Five Association badge hanging on Winters' chest.

"Spellcaster?"

"yes!"

"What kind of spells are good at?"

"Uh, fire-burning."

When Lieutenant Colonel Field laughed dryly and pointed at Winters' chest: "Take off this badge, for fear that outsiders wouldn't know that you are the caster?"

It was only then that Winters noticed that Lieutenant Colonel Field did not have the badge of the Three Five Association on his chest. He remembered Major Moritz again, and the Major did not wear the badge.

Winters is actually three-point proud of his identity as a spellcaster, otherwise he would not have sealed this badge every day in the military academy. However, I think there must be a reason for the two senior officers not wearing badges, so he quickly took off the badge and put it in his pocket.

This chapter is not over, please click on the next page to continue reading! Lieutenant Colonel Field looked at Winters' eyes and said in a deep voice: "I have no other requirements, only two points, keep my mouth shut and obey orders. If we do these two points, we will get along very happily. If you learn these two points, you will be a qualified officer."

"Yes!" Winters touched the heel of his boot and stood attentive again.

“How about equestrianism?”

"Well enough."

"Are you riding a horse to the palace today?"

"No." Winters' home is not far from the Army Headquarters and can be reached in a few steps, so there is no need to ride a horse.

"Go to the stable, take my horse out, and get one for yourself and wait for me at the door."

Winters really didn't expect that he would go out for field work just on his first day of internship. Didn't he say that the work here is very easy, just queuing the guards?

He saluted again cleanly and was about to set off.

"Wait!" Lieutenant Colonel Field called Winters again: "Where are you wearing a sword?"

Winters was stunned: "I don't have a sword, only a long sword."

"How can an officer not carry a sword? Wait here."

Lieutenant Colonel Field quickly walked back to his office. After a while, he walked out with a saber, raised his hand and threw it to Winters, and said generously: "This is my Dusak, you take it first."

Winters caught the saber thrown by the lieutenant colonel from the air. The knife and sheath were heavy, and it felt heavier than the long sword.

The blade body is slightly curved, the blade length is about 80 cm, and there is a simple curved handguard at the handle, like a saber used by cavalry. The black wooden scabbard is not decorated, only the tail end of the knife hilt is carved into the shape of an eagle head.

He pulled out the knife and saw the knife with one side, with a thick back and a thin blade. There were two rays on the blade, and the blade was shining with a breathtaking cold light. He could also smell the smell of knife oil.

There is no doubt that this is a real guy who has been carefully maintained.

"Go." Lieutenant Colonel waved his hand.

Winters nodded and walked out of the gendarmerie with a Dusak knife.

———I am the real dividing line of the sword catcher——

Leaving Army Headquarters.

Field rode his black horse in front, and Winters followed behind, maintaining a distance of half a horse.

This time, Lieutenant Colonel Field only brought Warrant Officer Winters to the field, and no military policeman was brought.

There are many pedestrians on the road, and the horse cannot run away, so they just take small steps and walk quickly.

After walking a while, after leaving the city, pedestrians gradually became scarce. Lieutenant Colonel Field no longer deliberately controlled the speed of the horse, swung the whip and the spurs lightly thrust the horse's ribs.

Just by gently indicating, his handsome dark horse immediately understood what his master meant and sniffed happily. The strong muscles of his limbs and chest suddenly exerted force, and in a few moments, he increased the speed, carrying the lieutenant colonel on the dirt road in the suburbs of the city. The dark horse also felt that the city was so stuffy that it was so tight that it was about to run a game.

This little dark horse was so happy, but Winters was depressed.

He was taller than the major, and with his figure, no matter how good the horsemanship was, he could not be a horse racing rider.

His horse was also a military horse provided to the officers for public use by the stables of the Army Headquarters. It was not as good as the dark horse of the lieutenant colonel. He was very hard-working on weekdays, and was instantly pulled a long distance away by the dark horse of the lieutenant colonel.

After running a few steps, Lieutenant Colonel Fidel also realized that Winters was thrown away. Lieutenant Colonel pulled the reins and just got warmed up. The dark horse, who had not yet been satisfied with running, neighed in dissatisfaction and slowed down.

Winters followed him, feeling a little embarrassed, and he made up his mind to find a real good horse in a few days to compete with the lieutenant colonel.

The two of them were speechless throughout the journey. The lieutenant colonel didn't say where they were going, and Winters kept silent. But the more they walked, Winters became more and more familiar. He tried to recall where he had walked this path. Finally, he recognized it.

Isn't this the way to the customs prison?

As Winters thought, the two stopped at the gate of the customs prison, which was where Winters was "invited" two days ago.

The lieutenant colonel handed the reins to Winters, walked straight to the gate of the customs prison and kicked it hard. His strength was so great that the three-meter-high and six-meter-wide oak door trembled all over his body.

A small door was opened on the gate, and several vicious guards ran out with long spears. Just as they were about to start swearing, they saw both officers uniforms and swallowed their dirty words back.

The leader asked kindly: "Is there anything you two?"

The lieutenant colonel took out a lacquered letter from the saddle bag and threw it to the guard: "Leave it to the person in charge here, let him come out to see me."

Several guards looked at each other and separated one person and went to deliver the letter.

After a while, the main entrance of the Customs Anti-Smuggling Prison opened. The warden went out to greet Lieutenant Colonel Field and led two army officers into the prison.

After revisiting the old place in less than two days, Winters sighed a little. Entering this prison with a guest rather than a prisoner's mentality, it feels different.

Instead of leading Fidel and Winters into the main building of the prison, the warden led the two around the exterior wall of the main building to the edge of a small stone house.

Before he could get close to the small house with wooden stone walls, Winters smelled a disgusting stench. The warden was obviously ready to take out a sachet from his arms and cover his mouth and nose.

The lieutenant colonel had no expression on his face. He could not help but look at the warden, his eyes full of contempt and contempt. Winters also learned from his leader, tried his best to keep his face tight and try not to show any discomfort.

The three of them stopped outside the stone house. The warden frowned and said, "The guards were waiting in the archives building early in the morning. I have sent someone to inform them and they should be able to come in a while."
