Chapter 2 Fire Tornado and Racing Horse(1/2)

So, what is the truth about the Fire Dragon Burning City?

This problem has been bothering Winters.

If, according to the Guitu citizens, the Fire Dragon Burning City is the masterpiece of a mysterious wizard; according to the religious people, it is a punishment for the sinners who have morally corrupted.

In any case, people firmly believe that the fire dragon burns the city is by no means a natural phenomenon.

On the one hand, Winters didn't think this matter had anything to do with magic, and the casters that night tried to reverse the wind with good intentions; but on the other hand, he didn't think that an ordinary fire would summon the fire tornado.

The man in front of him, who was sitting on a stool with a shiver in a robe, claimed that he had learned the truth about the Fire Dragon Burning City.

Winters is desperate to know the answer.

Axel was also very curious.

Christian opened the drawer and began to fumble and search.

Winters and Axel looked at each other, and the unsolved mystery was about to be revealed, and the two were suddenly a little nervous.

As a result, Christian just took out a pipe. Then he carefully filled the tobacco, lit it with magic, and took a beautiful breath.

Winters and Axel stared at the instructors completing the entire smoking process.

But Christian's expression was very intoxicated, as if he was really just trying to smoke.

"Teacher..." Winters couldn't help it and was about to ask.

"Puff." Christian squirted a sip of smoke on Winters' face.

The spicy smoke was accidentally sucked into the trachea by Winters, causing him to cough and tears. The small living room of Christian's house was suddenly filled with smoke.

Winters felt as if he was being teased, and he asked slightly dissatisfied: "What are you doing..."

"Shh." Christian put the index finger tree on his lips and signaled Winters to quiet. He pointed at the top of his head and whispered a word: "Look."

Winters and Ike looked at the smoke when they heard this.

Christian shook his finger gently, one circle, two circles, three circles... A wonderful thing happened:

First, starting from a point in the center, the disorderly drifting smoke began to rotate in the air as if it had suddenly had a soul. Following the rhythm of Christian's fingers, one circle, two circles, three circles...

The smoke is like a whirlwind, rotating to form a ring-shaped structure. There is no smoke in the center, just like the calm eye of a hurricane.

The ring of smoke turned faster and faster, and became larger and larger, until it finally exceeded the limit that Christian could control and suddenly collapsed.

Winters was stunned, but Axel was confused.

Ike pointed to the top of his head and asked in confusion: "Is this... magic?"

"Yes, it's magic." Christian took a pleasant breath of his pipe.

"Oh, it's quite interesting." Ike said with a silly smile: "So this is magic, it seems nothing is there?"

"Give me more respect!" Winters grabbed Ike's arm and swallowed involuntarily: "This is simply... unprecedented... this is magic that I have never seen before. It's amazing, really amazing."

A layman watches the excitement, while an expert sees the tricks.

Obviously, Christian used kinetic energy magic. Changing the kinetic energy of an object is not difficult for the caster.

Almost all kinetic energy-like spells are nothing more than accelerating, accelerating, and then accelerating something.

Although it is simple and efficient, it is also brainless, rough, and has no depth. So much so that some casters specializing in fire-burning spells call kinetic energy spells "racket spells."

It means that kinetic energy spells are like sticks, and no matter how big the stick is, they are still sticks, and they have no technical content.

Being able to precisely control the invisible smoke like an arm is an amazing skill in itself. Winters of the same level of spell technique has only been seen in one person, whose name is Moritz van Nassu.

What's even more incredible is - rotation?

Rotate?

There is no effect of rotation among existing kinetic energy spells, and kinetic energy spells are all straightforward.

Letting objects accelerate in one direction is enough to test the spell skills. As for rotation... it is not blind, disorderly random movement, but controlled rotational movement. Winters has no idea how to achieve this effect.

Spinning…fire tornado?

"Is this the spell that summons the Fire Tornado?" Winters asked excitedly, "Is the Fire Dragon Burning City caused by this spell?"

Axel was also stunned and followed Winters to look at the instructor.

"No." Christian spitted a sip of cigarette. It was strange that he stopped shivering when smoking: "This is my research result in recent months. Fire Dragon Burning City has nothing to do with this spell."

"Then what happened to Fire Dragon Burning City?" Ike finally couldn't help but ask directly by the instructor's narrative style.

"Oh, do you want to know that?" Christian said in a plain tone: "It's very simple. The reason for the Fire Dragon Burning City is very simple. I'll demonstrate it to you and you'll understand."

Christian put down his pipe, then rummaged through the cabinet to find a thin-walled glass cylinder and a small candlestick.

Winters noticed that when the teacher Christian's hand left the pipe, his body began to tremble involuntarily. Winters felt suspicious, but said nothing.

Christian placed the burning candlestick on the table and covered the candlestick with a glass cylinder.

The candle was burned so short that it was only a short piece, and the candlestick was only ten centimeters high. The height of the glass cylinder was half a meter, and it was penetrated from top to bottom, covering the candlestick like a lampshade.

Christian lit the candle with a snap of his finger and asked Winters: "Can the wind control technique do it?"

"Yes." Winters will of course use this most basic kinetic energy spell.

"Follow my movements to bring the air in." Christie sniffed wantonly and said listlessly: "Put your efforts slowly and don't blow out the candle."

Just when Winters was wondering how to deliver the air, Christian reached out to "disassemble" the glass cylinder.

Only then did Winters and Ike realize that the glass cylinder on the table was actually composed of two exactly the same semi-cylinders, just like a very sharp sword that splits the complete glass cylinder vertically into two petals.

This chapter is not over, please click on the next page to continue reading! Christian staggered the two parts of the cylinder, exposing two symmetrical gaps in the originally tightly-seamed glass cylinder.

"Wind Control Technique, do it with me." Christian signaled Winters with a spellcasting gesture.

Winters cooperated with the instructor and activated the wind control technique at the same time, each sending air to a gap. Winters tried his best to control the magic output and increase the force bit by bit.

As the magic-driven wind gradually increased, a wonderful scene happened.

The candle began to burn violently, and the originally stable candle fire actually began to rotate and extend upwards. Winters remembered Andre's description "a snake of flame rises towards the sky."

In the glass cylinder in front of me, a small flame snake rose into the air, and the top flame even jumped out of the glass cylinder half a meter high.

Christian waved his hand lazily: "Yes, stop."

However, when Winters and Christian stopped casting, the fire snake did not disappear. There was still a thin red line visible to the naked eye in the glass cylinder until the candle was burned out at a speed visible to the naked eye.

"Fire... Fire Dragon Burns the City?" Axel said in surprise and stuttered a little: "But this is too small, right?"

"Yes, this is the 'fire dragon', and it is the same thing as the fire dragon that burned the Victory Arsenal." Instructor Christian yawned, grabbed his pipe and started smoking.

"You mean... Fire Dragon Burning City is a natural phenomenon?" Winters raised his eyebrows.

"Yes, not." Christian spit out a smoke ring: "What you have to say is a natural phenomenon of man-made. Oh, I'll tell you a picture and you'll understand."

Before he finished speaking, Christian began to rummage the boxes and cabinets again, and finally pulled out a roll of dusty kraft paper from the top of the bookshelf.

He spread the kraft paper on the desk, and Winters and Axel came to the table and looked closely, and immediately recognized what the parchment was.

It is a map, a map of Guitu City. To be precise, it is the old Guitu City map before the fire. The Victory Arsenal also occupied more than half of the port area, and the city is still a messy and unplanned onion structure.

"The fire source is transported from a specific angle, and a fire tornado will form, which is actually a whirlwind and flame." Christian wrapped in a ground-to-ground robe and pointed to the map with a pipe. His eyes were blank, but his speech was extremely clear: "The buildings in the fire scene that day acted as the wind duct. We used magic to drive the wind, and the sea breeze blowing from the sea gathered in the fire scene, so the fire tornado was formed."

Winters recalled the situation that day, and Axel suddenly realized.

But before Christian finished speaking, he continued to murmur: "The Fire Tornado is a positive feedback system. The Fire Tornado will inhale air from the surroundings. The more air it contacts the fire source, the more it will burn. The more it will burn, the bigger the Fire Tornado. Finally, it will burn... until everything that can be burned is burned."

"Isn't that a coincidence of Fire Dragon Burning the City? It was a coincidence that the fire tornado appeared. But the superiors regarded you as a scapegoat... Why didn't you write a letter to defend yourself?" Axel slapped his thigh in anger.

"Self-defense? What can I defend myself?" Christian's expression was very strange: "The Fire Dragon Burning City was caused by the caster's reversal of the wind direction. Why should I defend myself?"

"So to put it this way, the Fire Tornado is just a coincidence and cannot be reproduced?" Winters suddenly felt a little regretful.

He always thought that if he could unravel the secret of the Fire Dragon Burning City, the caster's spell book might have an additional "Fire Tornado" technique.

However, according to Christian, the Fire Dragon Burning City was just a coincidence, and the Fire Tornado Technique seemed hopeless.

"Reappearance?" Teacher Christian sniffed again and said a surprising sentence in a plain way: "Of course."

As he said that, Christian found another candle and lit it.

He pinched the casting gesture, his eyes not even looking at the candle. The flames of the candle actually spiraled up again, like a pocket fire tornado in a glass cylinder just now.

"Here, that's it." Christian said lightly.

Winters was already stunned.

"After I figured out the Fire Dragon Burning City, I found that the rotation was very interesting." Christian yawned again and asked Winters: "Cultivator Montagne, do you think there are several accelerations in acceleration magic."

[Note: Christian has not yet been exposed to "Antoine Laurent Notes", so he still uses the old name, calling "kinetic energy-based spells" "acceleration-based spells"]

"Uh, isn't it just one?"

"No, it used to be one, but now there are two." Christian replied: "One is the acceleration, linear motion you have learned, which I call linear acceleration [line kinetic energy]. The other is the rotational motion I just demonstrated to you, which I call angular acceleration [angular kinetic energy]. Do you know what this means? Montagne student?"

Christian's story shattered Winters' understanding of magic and completely subverted the league's existing kinetic energy-based spell system. But his tone was like saying, "It's so hot today."

Axel was completely stupid. He couldn't understand what the two people in front of him were saying.

Winters was still digesting the teacher's words, and his brain almost stopped: "Uh...I don't know."
