1837 Governor of the Netherlands

The European colonization process in Southeast Asia was first completed by the Portuguese. It was a pioneer country in the entire European era of navigation and the ancestor of modern maritime industry.

Although Portugal had a long time, it was not the last one to laugh. Due to the military conflict between land and Spain, Portugal was once incorporated into Spain's territory, so its overseas colonies were inherited by the Spanish.

However, Spain is not a country with a strong national destiny. Although they formed an invincible fleet, they were eventually defeated by the British. In fact, the core of Spain's colonial interests at its peak was still in South America. Southeast Asia was too far away for Europe at that time.

In Southeast Asia, the country that really filled the gap in the Portuguese was actually the Netherlands. The maritime coaches were good at doing business. They did not engage in too many arms races, but formed the East India Company to expand into the distant Southeast Asia.

The Netherlands filled the gap between the Portuguese, the Philippines, Malaysia, Star Singapore, and the southern part of Kalimantan... The vast land was controlled by the Dutch, and the rich spices here were monopolized by the Dutch and dumped into Europe.

In fact, until the 21st century, the Netherlands was still the largest market for spice sales in the world, and the price of spices listed and traded became the reference price for spice merchants around the world.

Britain was a completely latecomer for Southeast Asia. At the end of the 19th century, Britain's colonies in Southeast Asia actually had only one Singapore area, which was mainly to control the Strait of Malacca.

Britain seemed to have no interest in competing for territory with the Dutch. Of course, the Dutch's obedience was also one of the reasons. In the Dutch colonies, Britain's interests could still be protected. Coupled with the intimate relationship between the Dutch royal family and the British royal family, the British people's appearance was not that ugly.

Britain controlled the Strait of Malacca, which was seized from the Dutch, and French colonies were also concentrated in Myanmar, Annan, India and other places, and their colonies were not in the Southern Archipelago.

In fact, the colonial centers of Britain and France were still in the Qing Dynasty. Although Southeast Asia is important, it does not require rule in person. Leaving it to the Dutch to manage will not harm one's own interests.

This is actually the confidence of Xiao Letian's deep colonization in the South China Sea. Many European powers cannot afford it. However, the Netherlands is an exception. Judging from the current strength of the Chinese, it is easy to destroy the Dutch army in the South China Sea.

What Xiao Letian is most worried about is that the Netherlands was defeated and seduced the British in the end. This is a diplomatic problem. As long as he can find a way to make the British turn a blind eye, the plan to quietly seize the Dutch colony can proceed smoothly.

Will the Dutch watch Xiao Letian's Chinese become bigger? Of course the answer is no, otherwise the Dutch governor would not allow a group of local kings to spend money to hire their own warships.

The news that the Battle of Borneo was brought out by the Dutch warship captain Malvik. After they retreated without fighting from the battlefield, they only made a little stop and paid attention to the situation on the battlefield. They found that the Chinese had laid a victory and immediately retreated southward.

There are military ports belonging to the Netherlands in southern Borneo. Where is Malvik quickly generating electricity to Cebu and Jakarta, which are two important strongholds for the Netherlands to control Southeast Asia and are also the permanent location of the Governor.

Veoliaka, the Dutch Governor of Jakarta, was shocked when he received the telegram. He couldn't believe his eyes. "Hundreds of thousands of indigenous coalitions, who received the support of countless arms of our country, were actually like this? Can't even hold on for a summer?"

"God, why do you want to create such incompetent humans! Prepare the warship immediately, I'm going to Xinggang to meet with the British Governor! I'm right away..."

The Netherlands no longer has the courage to fight against the Chinese. He has to pull Britain together if he wants to do any action.

At night that day, a fast destroyer in Jakarta headed north and arrived at Lion City Star Singapore before the arrival of Zhiyuan. As soon as he arrived at Star Singapore, Veoliaca was stunned by everything in front of him.

I saw warships gathering on the sea outside the port, with white sails covering the sky and sea birds flying among the cloud-like white sails. The sound of British sailors training was the sound of British sailors.

"Oh my God! Did the British gather all the warships in Southeast Asia in the Lion City? What is Governor Philip doing?"

"Governor, look, it is the battleship Melveli! The main battleship that participated in the war against the Qing Dynasty..." An old sailor on the deck recognized the huge battleship at the front of the queue at a glance.

The governor pulled out his monocular lens and looked into the distance. Sure enough, a main warship with a three-layer gun cabin was anchored on the high seas, and there were busy sailors everywhere on the deck.

"Melveli, Berlanhan... is actually the main battleship above 74 gates! Two ships gathered together..."

"And, Governor, you see, the British destroyer fleet is also gathering...Du Louis, Conway, Crocodile... There are eight ships in total..."

"Transportation ships? Why are there ten transport ships? Do the British have any ocean-going missions? They still have to prepare for war... Damn what do they want to do?"

Governor Veoliaca was a sensible person. When he saw that the main warships that conquered the Qing Dynasty were gathered on the coast of Lion City, he immediately realized that Governor Philip was going to make a big move. Could it be that he was armed intervening in the war in Borneo?

Could it be that the cunning British people also think that the Chinese people are too arrogant and should be curbed?

"That's great, it must be like this... Go into the port soon, I'm going to see Governor Philip!"

Diplomats, especially the Governor-level ships, have privileges in the port. When Veoliaca showed his identity as the Governor-General of the Netherlands, the water diversion ship immediately approached the patrol boat and began to open a safe passage in the busy commercial dock area.

Not only that, the patrol boat also issued a flag to Veoliaca, "I apologize to you, Dear Governor, the military port is currently full and cannot arrange a dock for your warship. I hope you can land successfully from the commercial dock. I wish you all the best!"

Veoliaca is not good at kung fu now. He knows that Lion City guarding the Strait of Malacca is an important military stronghold for the British in Asia, and the construction of the military port here is very large.

This is all filled with people, which shows that the British fleet has already been dispatched here in full swing. This is a big deal!

The commercial terminal is commercial. Now is not the time to compete for diplomatic face. The Governor jumped onto the terminal and soon the British guards and carriages arranged by the British side came to greet him. The group quickly rushed to the British Governor's Office.
