Chapter 53 The Future of Prisoners of War

On July 15, 1985, the Iraqi army's encirclement and annihilation campaign against the Iranian troops surrounded by the Western Front was launched in full swing. After a week of artillery bombardment and bombing, 80,000 Iranian troops laid down their weapons in hunger and fear and surrendered to the Iraqi Northern Group troops. The surrender of these 80,000 troops was not so much a result of falling under the guns of powerful enemies, but rather a defeat to the bad internal system.

In order to clean up the Koum Sect, a large number of Iranian officers were sent to prison again. The substitutes were basically newcomers with no prestige. Nearly half of the troops' believers were discriminated against or even tried. The collapse of belief in the country caused these troops to throw away their weapons and surrender to the Iraqis. At least in the enemy, Koum Sect and others were in the same identity - prisoners of war!

At this time, even the most dullest people could see that the war between Iraq and Iran had entered the final stage. Iran, the most powerful country in the Middle East during the Pahlavi period, is now a country that wants to export the Islamic revolution and change the world. The inheritor of this brilliant and great Persian kingdom now has almost no chance of turning defeat into victory.

Iran or Persia, a great power that once stood at the top of the world, has ruled Arabia for hundreds of years and caused a huge deterrence to Europe. After the British invasion, it was once again defeated by the invaders in the filthy mud. However, its fall not only included powerful foreign enemies, but also swords and guns from the inside.

The fortress is easiest to be conquered from the inside - this famous saying once again verifies its correctness. Iraq secretly returned 20,000 Iranian officers and soldiers, all of whom believed in the Koum Sect, and they were armed and handed over to the hands of the Koum leaders. Therefore, the battle that had stopped outside the Koum Sect once again exploded in the ancient holy city and fought fiercely with the Koum Sect army.

This battle caused the entire Iran to split, and there were conflicts of varying degrees in many places in the country. The religious conflicts that had originally spread across the country were changed to armed riots. For a long time, people with dissidents, those who were suppressed by religious courts, people of different denominations, people who were persecuted by the Islamic Revolution, and those who were disappointed in the dull and harsh environment in the country, poor people have all taken up weapons and started to confront the ZF army.

Iran's elite troops have been deployed on the front line or defending Tehran. A large number of Basilica began to fight with these anti-ZF elements, and Iran is in turmoil. For a long time, a huge force suppressed by the Islamic revolution has burst out, and this country that has made the entire Middle East and the Islamic world tremble violently, and becomes even weaker under the burning of its internal flames.

"Look at these Muslims, these soldiers, look at their appearance. I really can't believe that such an army actually fought with us and almost defeated us. Their appearance is really bad. Are we fighting such an army all the time?" Hussein, the commander of the 7th Infantry Division, Tamur shook his head and sighed. His troops encountered fierce resistance this time, and almost collapsed under the counterattack of the 20th Armored Brigade of Iran, which made him feel the difficulty of the war.

"That's because they are losers. What good looks can any completely defeated army show? A week of fierce shelling and bombing, without food and water, was surrounded by despair and depression everywhere. Do you think they should be happy?" Saud, commander of the Northern Group beside him, said without hesitation.

"I heard that the Iranian regiment battalion-level commanders were temporarily promoted from the platoon leader level. In the battle, these people were unable to command at all, and even the troops could not control them. The Iranian soldiers kept running to our positions to surrender. At night, whenever we shouted and had a meal, someone would run here with a machine gun." The young Major Sa;Majid said with a wry smile.

The three officers stood on the dirt slope beside the road and talked to the vast Iranian prisoners of war on the road. The dull eyes of the Iranian prisoners of war were lined up in four columns and slowly advanced to the rear on one side of the road. Their image was really unsatisfactory, like a group of disorganized refugees who had lost their spirits. On the other side of the road, Iraqi military vehicles and tanks were lined up to drive south in a long row.

Because Liu Ming ordered that the Geneva Convention be abide by the Geneva Convention and humanitarian treatment of prisoners of war were not abused. Each of them carried a military backpack containing their own kettles and lunch boxes. Whenever they arrived at the resting place, someone would fill them with clear water; and when they arrived at the gathering place, there were hot rice and hot soup.

The POWs' diet was average, basically Iranian pancakes, potatoes and vegetables. The dinner was a little richer, including beans and chicken, and occasionally mutton stewed rice. The POWs were quite satisfied with these. After all, they had been hungry for three or four days under the fire, and even the worst food was delicious. Moreover, although the things provided by Iraq were average, they had enough portions, so they were satisfied that they could eat every meal.

"What are you talking about?" A voice sounded behind the three officers. When everyone looked back, they saw the new military and political chief of the Nan'a Special Administrative Region, Houssein, and Kamal walked towards the hillside in a spirit. His smile was full of joy, which made people feel intimate and easy-going at first sight.

"General Kamal--" The three officers stood at a close greeting. The military and political chief was the future manager of the Nan A region, so it was necessary for them to maintain a good relationship with him. Of course, Saud; Megibel knew that Chief Kusai was still worried about the Nan A military and political chief. The one who sent him to serve as his deputy was not someone else, but the famous Iraqi flower Hanam; Aziz.

"Haha, it turns out you are all here." Houssein Kamal smiled and returned the salute to the officers.

"General, what are the arrangements for these Iranians? What instructions does the Nan'a Command have? If these tens of thousands of people are allowed to support us, it will be a considerable expense!" Saud; Megibel asked.

Houseyn Kamal stood on the slope and looked at the prisoners of war, smiled. You don't have to worry, Chief Kusai has arranged it. These prisoners will be divided into two parts, part to Maguela and part to Tabriz. Those who go to Maguela will be organized to build the road from Maguela to Hyderabad. They are free labor, why not?"

"It's so sad - an army not only became a prisoner, but also became a road builder for the enemy. For them, defending the country and exporting the Islamic Revolution, all of this ended with the moment of defeat. They just needed to save their lives and wait for the end of the war." Hussein Tamur sighed.

"But they no longer have to worry about being killed by shells falling from the sky. For them, the war is over." Major Majid smiled.

Not necessarily!" Houssein Kamal said, and in the puzzled eyes of the three officers beside him, he smiled unpredictably and looked at the Iranian prisoners of war on the road. He knew that many of these teams would be screened out, pick up weapons and return to his own territory, and fight to defend himself and his family.

Iran's religious persecution is harsh. If you want to be labeled as a traitor for generations, you can only take up weapons and overthrow the new era of the Likum Sect. Although these Iranian soldiers are decadent at this moment, when they have new ideals and concerns, they will be a combat-capable and brave army. Houssein and Kamal have no doubts about this, and he also firmly believes that he can complete the tasks assigned to him by that person.

"Genre General, I am Michael, Richardson, can you accept my interview?" Just as Houssein Kamal said goodbye to the three officers, and when he came to the gathering and resting place of prisoners of war, a microphone suddenly reached in front of him. He looked up and saw two white men with reporters' interview signs hanging on their chests.

"How did you come in? Who gave you the power to interview prisoners of war and our army's officers and soldiers?" Seeing this scene, Houssein and Kamal couldn't help but feel a little angry. Western newspapers and media have always liked to talk nonsense and dig out the dark side of Iraq. He felt very upset when he saw Western journalists. Now they actually came to the front line for interviews, which is really depressing.

Just in Houssein; Kamal wanted to call the guard behind him to bombard the two men, and the man in front said hurriedly: "God General - we have permission, it is Kusai; General Abdullah's order signed by himself. He allowed us to interview in the Nana area, you see - this is the interview certificate!" As he said that, he carefully took out a document from his arms and handed it to Houssein; Kamal.
