Chapter 906: Under the Gunshots(2/3)

"Bang!"

A gunshot rang out and the soldier was shot in the chest by Prince Rupert.

The soldier's body jerked suddenly, he took a few steps back, and then fell on his back.

Blood flowed from the soldier's body.

Under the stimulation of this blood, Prince Rupert became even more ferocious.

He took out a grenade from his body, pulled the string, and threw it towards the place where the soldiers were gathered in front.

The fragments produced after the grenade exploded quickly killed the soldiers around the explosion point.

These soldiers were basically soldiers who ran out of the barracks in panic after hearing the explosion.

There were many panicked soldiers, and when Prince Rupert began to massacre these soldiers, even greater panic continued to spread among these soldiers.

The surviving soldiers looked at their comrades who died tragically around them, screamed loudly, and ran back as if they were crazy.

They scrambled to get ahead, wishing they had eight legs. They threw away everything they could throw away, and some even deliberately tripped over their companions running next to them in an attempt to buy themselves time.

"Hahaha!"

Looking at the scene in front of him, Prince Rupert looked up to the sky and laughed.

Prince Rupert has never fought such a battle. This is not a war, it is simply a one-sided massacre.

The killing aroused the cruelty in Prince Rupert's chest. He once again raised the loaded Dresser rifle and aimed it at a soldier in front.

At this time, the officers also arrived belatedly with the organized soldiers.

But when the officer arrived, he was shocked by the tragedy in front of him.

The ground was full of soldiers dying tragically, and soldiers running for their lives in panic were everywhere.

The screams kept echoing in the air, making the officer tremble inside.

"Counterattack, counterattack, counterattack quickly!"

The officer led the organized soldiers through the chaotic soldiers and arrived directly in front of Prince Rupert.

He held a long knife in his hand, pointed it at Prince Rupert in front of him, and shouted hysterically.

Most of the soldiers he organized were spearmen.

Although there are some musketeers inside, they are not many.

Historically, at the beginning of the Civil War, the number of musketeers and spearmen was basically one to one. It was not until the end of the war that this number changed from one to one to two to one.

In other words, an army of 1,000 men at the beginning of the civil war included 500 musketeers and 500 spearmen.

But this configuration is the configuration of the regular army, not the configuration of these guerrillas.

Among the thousand men led by the officers, the number of musketeers was pitifully small, not even a hundred.

Most of them are spearmen. After all, spearmen are relatively simple to train and have no requirements on personnel.

The officer originally wanted to gather all the musketeers in the general, but the camp was too chaotic, and he only gathered more than thirty musketeers.

Although the military literacy of the officers is not high, after a few days of study, they roughly know how to arrange troops.

The officer placed the musketeers in the middle of the team, and then placed the spearmen on both sides of the team.

Prince Rupert, looking at the officers arranging their troops in front, stopped with interest and did not start to attack.

Prince Rupert is now only about two hundred meters away from the officer. At this distance, the De Lacey rifle used by Prince Rupert is completely within reach.

However, Prince Rupert did not ask his men to attack the soldiers who were arranging their troops at this time.

Prince Rupert had a very good idea in mind, and he planned to attack after the soldiers had finished forming their formations.

In Prince Rupert's opinion, this is the only way to better undermine the morale of these soldiers.

Prince Rupert resumed loading the ammunition in the Dresser rifle.

When loading ammunition into a Dresser rifle, the speed is far slower than loading into a five-six-and-a-half or five-six punch, but it is many times faster than a matchlock gun.

Prince Rupert had already finished loading the Dresser rifle in his hand, but the musketeers led by the officers had just begun to load the ammunition for the matchlock muskets.

Prince Rupert stood quietly, looking ahead with a playful expression.

"Damn it, damn it, damn it, damn it, you used this reason to deceive me, damn it!" The officer looked at Prince Rupert in front of him and kept yelling.

The officer turned his head and looked at the musketeer who was loading ammunition, "Have you finished loading? Go faster. If you go slower, I can't guarantee that you can survive!"

The officer's face was full of anxiety, and his eyes kept glancing back and forth at Prince Rupert and the soldiers he led.

Finally, the musketeers in his hands finished loading their ammunition.

The officer took a deep breath and felt relieved.

"Aim forward. Once they come within range, follow my orders and prepare to fire!"

The officer shouted loudly.

Now, Prince Rupert and the others were not within the range of the matchlock gun, so they could not fire. Instead, they quietly waited for Prince Rupert to come here.

The officer could have chosen to let his musketeers advance, but the officer did not want to do so because there were many of them.

Prince Rupert looked at the soldiers waiting in front, smiled contemptuously, then turned his head and shouted at the soldiers following him: "Let them see how powerful we are. Shoot, except for that officer."

, I will kill all the rest!"

Prince Rupert's order spread to the ears of every soldier, and they raised their Dreiser rifles and aimed at the soldiers in front.

"Bang, bang, bang!"

Gunshots kept ringing out, firelight kept flashing, and bullets flew forward with a whistling sound.

The soldiers under the officer had blood splatters on their chests one after another, and they fell to the ground one after another.

The officer's face was distorted to the extreme. He was hysterical and yelled crazily, "This is impossible, this is impossible, what the hell is going on, this is simply impossible!"

What are the matchlocks in their hands? Why can they shoot so far? This is impossible!"

The range of the Dresser rifle used by Prince Rupert exceeded the officer's imagination.

In this era when the effective killing range of the matchlock gun is only fifty or sixty meters, the range of the Dresser rifle is like using a plug-in.

The officer looked at the soldiers who fell one after another beside him, and fear began to spread in his heart.

He had even forgotten to escape. His legs were like lead. Even if he wanted to run, he had no strength.

"Hahaha!"

Prince Rupert laughed wildly twice, and then directed his soldiers to rush forward.

When passing by the officer, Prince Rupert did not stop or take action. He just smiled contemptuously at the officer and then walked past the officer.

"Tell them in Essex that the person who killed you today was Prince Rupert."

As he passed by the officer, Prince Rupert dropped these words.

When Prince Rupert left the officer, the officer fell to the ground as if his bones had been ripped out.

Cold sweat broke out all over his body, and his body was shaking violently like chaff.

The upper and lower teeth keep tapping, making a clicking sound.

From beginning to end, Prince Rupert had no intention of killing the officer.

Someone had to inform the Earl of Essex and other members of Parliament that he had arrived.

This is also the main reason why Prince Rupert did not kill the officer.

The massacre continued in the camp, leaving a mess of corpses and miserable screams wherever Prince Rupert passed by.

The massacre lasted until noon. When Prince Rupert had exhausted all the ammunition he carried, Prince Rupert left with his men.

From beginning to end, Prince Rupert and others killed at least more than 300 people.

Because the camp is in the woods and the layout of the camp is not very strong, many soldiers in the camp can easily climb over the camp wall and escape deeper into the camp.

There were only a thousand people in this camp, and nearly a third of them were killed in one go. It can be said that the army of officers was completely destroyed.

Those who survive may not have the courage to go to the battlefield in this life.

The sun was high in the sky, and the officer slumped on the ground blankly.

The smell of gunpowder smoke has not completely dissipated, and some barracks in the camp are still burning.

The black smoke produced during the burning was constantly floating in the sky above the camp.

The officer gasped for breath. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. Everything he saw before him was like a dream.

A large number of the surviving soldiers were wandering aimlessly through the camp. These soldiers had dull eyes, like fools.

Today's blow was unbearable to the officer and unimaginable.

Suddenly, dense footsteps came from the camp entrance. The officer struggled to stand up from the ground and looked at the camp entrance with a horrified look on his face.

He thought that Prince Rupert was making a comeback.

Not long after, people from outside the camp rushed in, but these people who rushed in were not Prince Rupert and the others at all. These people were the soldiers stationed not far from the officers' camp.
To be continued...
