Chapter 2 on(2/2)

It should be a good direction for investigation. I have the impression that the nearby location can be turned into a good defense area with a little modification. If used well, I can even build a dock there.

After making all preparations, I reconnoitred eastward along the lakeside in full gear. As soon as I went out and not far away, I discovered that there were some more travelers along the way. The unknown birds in the morning were chirping with me again.

When they come up, they always fly to a position not far from me and stop for a while. When I go far away, they quietly follow me. This makes me have a very strange and wonderful thought: "Are they watching me?"

"

In my memory, there are also birds with blue wings on the earth, but except for the wings, other parts of the bird have black and gray feathers, unlike this kind of bird, which has bright aqua feathers all over its body, and these birds

Although its body shape is somewhat like a sparrow, when its wings are spread out, it is several times larger than a sparrow, making it more similar to a magpie.

I continued to move forward while observing them, and finally found the delta before 10 a.m. After another hour of terrain exploration, I got disappointing results.

Although I expected the landform of this area to be a small alluvial plain, the scale of the sandy landform was larger than I imagined, and the surrounding area was almost entirely soft sandy land with no large pieces of solid land to be found.

, maybe it’s good for farming, but it’s almost hopeless to build a house. I walked towards the edge of the forest a little irritably and found a clean grassland to rest. The group of birds naturally followed me. I don’t know why.

They have been very quiet since arriving near this place.

Although I am still wary of them in my heart, I don't think these little birds will pose any kind of threat to me, and after opening a package of compressed dry food, they came jumping around again.

When it came to my side, it screamed happily, just like a pigeon in the park begging for food from tourists.

"Are you planning to eat me up?"

I yelled at them angrily, but they didn't mind at all and instead moved closer. One of them, a slightly smaller one, even jumped onto my hand and pecked it twice involuntarily.

Dry food bags.

"I bought you all with a pack of compressed dry food. Aren't you afraid that I'll use you to barbecue?"

My threat did not affect the little one. It turned its head and barked at me twice and then tried hard to peck at the bag of dry food. It seemed that eating was more important than the meaningless threat.

I personally don’t like keeping pets. This is not because I hate animals but because I don’t know how to communicate with them. In fact, when I first saw these birds in the morning, my first reaction was whether they could be eaten.

, but this idea was quickly rejected for many reasons, but the summary is "I have no need for them."

Although I didn’t hunt them, I didn’t expect that it would turn out like this. It made me laugh to see the little ones trying to break the oil paper packaging of compressed dry food. The emergency food I carried was not much, but it was still.

It's enough to sustain consumption for 20 days, and there are ample food sources in this forest, so I don't really care about feeding these birds with dry food. It's better to say that their presence makes me feel that this place is less boring.

I opened the oil paper bag and took out a whole stick of compressed dry food, crushed it and sprinkled it next to me. Then I started eating by myself. I watched the birds gathering together and pecking happily. I don’t know why I suddenly thought of that just now.

The little one's strange reaction.

"You...can't you understand what I'm saying...right?"

The next scene really shocked me. These little birds actually stopped pecking and looked up at me. The little bird nodded to me very awkwardly, which made me subconsciously hold my hand.

I picked up the rifle next to me. The two sides looked at each other wordlessly for a while, and then the birds lowered their heads and started pecking happily. I wiped the cold sweat I had just broken out and felt guilty for a long time.
