144: City That Never Sleeps

By the time we got out of the car show, the sun in Shanghai had just set below the horizon.

"The empty blue-green sky is so blue that there is no scum at all - there is some, settled at the bottom, dark, shiny, smoky, and noisy - that is the city of Shanghai."

When the sun just dips below the horizon and the blue outline of the sky still remains, it happens to be the city of Shanghai described by Zhang Ailing.

"Done?" Li Jianghe asked, looking at the sky in the distance.

"It's almost there, but it will take a while to get the car." Wu Shiqing stood side by side with him, not knowing what he was thinking, "I'm going to visit an uncle at home later, and I've booked a hotel, Peace Hotel."

"Why don't you respond tonight?" Li Jianghe looked away from the height.

"I didn't want to go at first, but I just saw a colleague of theirs at the auto show. Now that I know he's coming, it makes no sense not to pay a visit." Wu Shiqing handed the car key to Li Jianghe: "You can drive the car first."

"You won't open it?" Li Jianghe took the key and felt a little strange.

"His home is not far from here, I just need to walk a short distance." Wu Shiqing waved his hand: "See you later."

"See you later", Li Jianghe watched Wu Shiqing blend into the crowd.

He waited for a while and saw Tao Shubo coming out with a camera hanging around his neck.

"Jiang He hasn't left yet." Tao Shubo came over and patted him: "Is your friend gone?"

"He has something to do at home. He has to go and get busy. We will respond tomorrow." Li Jianghe said, "Brother, are you planning to go back?"

"My employer approved it for three days. I'm not in a hurry. I'm going to visit this city that never sleeps again." Tao Shubo said with a smile, "Why don't we go together, have a meal, and we can talk about our feelings as brothers and sisters."

"Then I'm welcome." Li Jianghe took the Cherokee's car keys and checked where he parked the car. There should be nothing wrong with it, and went to eat with Tao Shubo.

We didn't go to any high-end place for dinner, so the two of us didn't need to be too polite and had a meal at KFC.

Judging from the prices in 2001, KFC was not a cheap place.

Walking out of KFC, the night in Shanghai is blooming with brilliance.

Neon lights flashed, and the streets were full of pedestrians and tourists. The tall buildings blocked the moon, replacing the moon halo with the light coming from those offices.

"It's so prosperous," Tao Shubo said with emotion, patting his belly, "Yingtian is also a big city in the south, but compared to Shanghai, it's a small place."

"I can't believe that Shanghai is so big that we can be together, but a small Taibei stumps us." Li Jianghe suddenly thought, and then said with a smile: "Wanwan also thinks that their city is a small place."

"Secret Love in the Peach Blossom Spring", Tao Shubo also laughed: "This drama is famous. Come, let's take a tour of this huge city of Shanghai."

Although the city of Shanghai in 2001 was already very modern, like many cities in my country at this time, there might be a messy shantytown next to the high-rise buildings.

Very magical.

"So it's all like this," Li Jianghe sighed while sitting in an air-conditioned car, looking out the window at the passing shantytowns.

"But the air-conditioned bus we took is a rare thing." Tao Shubo also looked out the window, "That's what it is like here."

"Senior brother, you seem to have a lot of affection for this place?" Li Jianghe turned his head.

"Ha, as soon as I graduated, my first job was in Shanghai." Tao Shubo, holding the camera in his hand, recalled: "I was not a reporter at that time. I worked as an editor here. You know, at that time, literature

There are so many manuscripts in Changsheng that reading them has become a chore. I have been working in Shanghai for a year and a half and have never had the chance to take a good look at this place."

"Senior brother, why did you quit?" Li Jianghe stood up and asked when he saw that he was almost at the station.

"I was still a young literary man at that time, but when I started working in this field, I realized that this was what happened." Tao Shubo also stood up and left. "At that time, there happened to be an opportunity at the newspaper office in Yingtian. My girlfriend's home was in Yingtian.

, I just thought about going back to work, which would be good.”

Li Jianghe and Tao Shubo were walking on the street, stopping from time to time to look at the small bookstalls on the street.

It’s basically a world of close friends and readers.

Li Jianghe also saw a 2000 Forbes magazine at a used bookstall.

On the cover, Jack Ma clenches his hands and wants to build Ali into the top ten websites in the world.

He had an impression of this person. When Ali helped the People's Daily to found the People's Daily, the newspaper reported on it. Li Jianghe could still remember Jack Ma's very distinctive appearance.

What he didn't know was that more than ten years later, this man would say the famous saying of regretting the death of Ali and become an advocate of blessings.

"Tao... Tao Shubo?" Just as Li Jianghe and Tao Shubo were looking at the Huangpu River on the Bund, a man's voice suddenly interrupted.

"Huh?" Tao Shubo followed the sound and asked, "Who are you?"

"I'm Sui Jun, you forgot, we are editors who joined the same group," the man said.

"Sui Jun? Oh, you have changed so much." Tao Shubo suddenly realized, "You have gained too much weight."

"Forget it, sometimes when I look in the mirror, I don't even recognize myself." Sui Jun also sighed: "But you haven't changed much. I heard that you went to Yingtian to work as a reporter?"

"Yes, this is not the Shanghai Auto Show. The newspaper sent me on a business trip." Tao Shubo met the ancients by chance and was in a good mood. "Old Sui, the food in the magazine is so good now?"

"Hey, the food is just like that. This is called getting fat in middle age, but I just resigned, so what the heck." Sui Jun waved his hand.

Sui Jun has silver-framed eyes, a black shirt, old-fashioned khaki trousers, a protruding belly, and a very kind face.

"You're almost forty now," Tao Shubo clicked his tongue, "Why do you say you're quitting this job and are you ready to find a new job?"

"No, it's all bullshit." Sui Jun took out a cigarette and lit it, explaining: "The boss of the magazine was changed before. It was purely a layman's guidance of an expert. The editor's salary was originally low and he was not on time.

hair."

"Well, Old Sui, you are too impulsive," Tao Shubo advised, "We are not young anymore, let's just hang out."

"It's not that I don't want to hang around, it's just that I really can't hang around anymore," Sui Jun scolded: "The person who manages the magazine now is a rich second generation, a second-generation ancestor, with his nostrils turned to the sky. He looks up to the moon and lowers his head to miss his hometown, so he takes

Now that we have become cultural figures, if we insist on publishing our own bullshit articles in magazines, we have become nannies."

"TMD", Sui Junguo cursed, "I don't even know how to copy. I was accused of plagiarism a few days ago, and the boss wanted to push me out to block the knife. Damn it."

Tao Shubo heard the rich second generation subconsciously turn his attention to Li Jianghe.

"Is this?" Sui Jun then noticed that Li Jianghe had completely ignored his surroundings when he talked about sad things before.

"My junior brother is also from Yingda University and has not graduated yet," Tao Shubo introduced.
