Chapter 34

Starting from the second day of the conference, the atmosphere in the 122nd Regiment became tense, and everyone was practicing their flying skills desperately. The experienced pilots who had been in the regiment for more than two years each flew one takeoff and landing every day, and those who had been in the regiment for less than two years had one takeoff and landing during the day, and one more takeoff and landing at night.

Night flight.

For this confrontation exercise, the aviation department and the theater have each allocated a batch of aviation fuel and funds, opening up the supply. If there is insufficient, you can report it and continue to apply.

The reason for such support is that the air force and the theater also regard this confrontation exercise as a pilot.

If after one month, if the air force and the theater cannot see obvious effects, the 31st Division will have a hard time in the future and will have to cut back on food and clothing. If the effects are obvious, it may be promoted, and at the same time, the 31st Division will still have to go to the blue area.

The possibility of military force evolution.

Although the previous exercises were large-scale, they all had plans. How and when to attack had to be decided by the exercise headquarters. The Army unit was better and had the opportunity to perform freely; the aviation unit, to put it bluntly, was engaged in fixed attacks.

Target, if you want to play freely, you are just thinking too much.

And this confrontation drill, without any plan, is true freedom.

No one knows exactly how it will look like and whether there will be any accidents in the process.

For this confrontation drill, even the air condition orders for the North Point have been reduced. There are rarely simulated air conditions. Basically, orders will be issued only when there is real air condition.

The regiment naturally reduced the number of personnel on combat readiness duty, leaving only a group of two people on combat readiness duty every day. The remaining pilots were all trained.

Half a month later, on the morning of August 16th.

Yang Luo sat in the cockpit of the long-awaited No. 811 JJ-7. Since his solo flight, Yang Luo had not touched the control stick of the JJ-7.

The reason why I want to fly the J-7 is because today’s training mission is to shoot aerial targets.

Yang Luo had never shot a blank target when he joined the 122nd Regiment, so he needed someone to teach him.

According to regulations, when practicing empty target shooting, you must first practice aiming and locking, and then you can fire live ammunition. However, Yang Luo already had the experience of shooting down the pilot of the 123rd Regiment, so he directly fired live ammunition and canceled the aiming and locking practice.

In fact, Yang Luo had already practiced target shooting in the system space, shooting both air and ground targets, and was also good at rockets and missiles. But he couldn't tell anyone about this, he could only know it himself.

Yang Luo sat in the front cabin and skillfully checked the instruments. In the back cabin was Ye Jianlong. There were not many pilots who dared to fly on a plane flown by a madman. Ye Jianlong was one of them.

Ye Jianlong was very relaxed and slumped down in the back seat. If he could lie down, he would probably have already lied down. For this target shooting, Ye Jianlong was both the instructor and the examiner.

Two short-range air-to-air missiles, Ye Jianlong will shoot one first as a teacher, and then Yang Luo will shoot one. If the results are qualified, Yang Luo can fly solo in the future.

A "PL-2" missile is mounted on each wing of the aircraft. This missile has withdrawn from the stage of history and is now only used as a training bomb.

After the instrument inspection is completed, it is confirmed that there are no problems, and a thumbs up is raised to the maintenance staff to indicate that preparations are complete.

The maintenance man holding the flag immediately signaled that he could slide out.

With his hands wearing white gloves holding the throttle and the joystick respectively, Yang Luo took a deep breath and slowly pushed up the throttle.

As high-performance aviation fuel is injected into the combustion chamber, the roar of the aircraft engine intensifies, providing power to push the J-7 weighing several tons to slide out of the hangar.

"Call the tower, 811 is performing an air target mission, requesting takeoff, completed." Taxiing to the runway and braking, the radio communication system connected to the tower's confidential channel, and Yang Luo contacted the tower.

"The tower received it, the wind direction is 265, the wind speed is 2.5 meters per second, the field pressure is 1002, and there are cumulus clouds at 7000 meters. Pay attention to avoid it and you can take off. It's over." The tower commander on duty immediately responded.

"811 received, ready to take off, completed."

Release the brake, push the throttle all the way up, and the J-7 will run wildly on the runway.

Today is a normal takeoff, so of course we cannot use afterburner like an emergency takeoff.

Pull the lever, raise your head, and the J-7 roars into the air.

Retract the landing gear, use the rudder to turn to heading 060, and enter the shooting range airspace of Airspace No. 2 at cruising speed.

The target of the aerial target is an unmanned aerial vehicle, which is actually a drone flying in the airspace of the shooting range.

If you want to do target shooting, you must first find the target, otherwise there will be no target to shoot at.

"Are you familiar with the shooting parameters and missile parameters?" Ye Jianlong in the back cabin sat up straight and asked.

Yang Luo replied: "It's all in my mind, I remember it firmly."

"Okay, find the target, then let go, you watch me shoot first." Ye Jianlong gave the instruction.

"clear."

The airspace at the shooting range is not very large, so Yang Luo did not turn on the search radar and relied on visual search.

In less than a minute, Yang Luo saw an unmanned target drone flying ahead on the left.

Yang Luo let go of the joystick and throttle, took his feet off the left and right rudders, and let go of the control of the aircraft.

Ye Jianlong immediately took over the control, pushed the rudder slightly to turn left, locked the target drone, then turned on the switch at the top of the joystick with his right hand and pressed the attack button.

"Whoosh!"

The PL-2 missile located on the left wing is powered on and activated, the tail end engine ignites, and shoots out like an arrow from the string. After leaving the launcher, the passive infrared seeker starts working and pounces on the target drone ahead.

Ye Jianlong, after the Pili-2 was launched, withdrew from the attack and climbed up to prevent the debris from the missile from hitting the aircraft.

"boom!"

Soon, the Pili-2 caught up with the target aircraft, collided with each other, activated the warhead, violent explosions were heard, the fire was dazzling, missiles and target aircraft fragments flew in all directions, and a brilliant fireworks bloomed in the sky.

.

Die together.

"Spectacular." Yang Luo sighed.

"Okay, I'll let you take control of the aircraft. Search for the next target drone, shoot this missile, and we can return." Ye Jianlong said, and then let go of the control.

After Yang Luo received it, he started searching again.

Soon, I saw a target drone in another direction and turned the steering wheel.

Shooting empty targets on an actual machine is nothing more than three key points: occupy the shooting position, lock on the target, and launch.

It sounds simple, but it is difficult to actually do it.

Especially in aerial battles, not to mention locking the target, it is difficult to occupy the shooting position in the first step, and you must always be aware that the opponent will counterattack. Even if you occupy the shooting position, locking the target is also difficult, and no one will be stupid.

Waiting to be locked, but always trying to evade.

Shooting an empty target is much easier than a dogfight.

The J-7 drew an arc, cut into the firing position, and locked the target through the airborne fire control radar and helmet sight.

Yang Luo's right hand touched the top of the joystick, started the first missile launch to the 122nd Regiment, and pressed the attack button.

PL-2 is powered on and activated, and the tail engine ignites...

But, the next second...

Suddenly a rapid siren sounded in the cockpit, and a red light flashed inside the cockpit.

The instrument panel showed that the weapon was malfunctioning.

"What's going on?" Ye Jianlong asked hurriedly.

Yang Luo did not answer Ye Jianlong, but directly called the tower urgently: "Call the tower, the 811 missile is launching abnormally. I did not see the missile being launched, but I have already ignited it."

After hearing this, Ye Jianlong hurriedly looked towards the right wing, trying to see something. However, it was blocked by the wing, and he could only vaguely see what seemed to be fire under the wing.

The tower commander on duty was startled and immediately issued an order: "Immediately switch to the manual method and throw away the missile and launcher together."

"clear."

When Yang Luo responded immediately, Ye Jianlong's voice rang in his ears: "I'll throw away the missiles and launchers. You can drive with peace of mind."

The next second, the launcher, together with the ignited missile, fell straight to the ground.

"Tower, the missiles have been thrown out." Ye Jianlong reported, his face a little ugly.

Tatai ordered: "Return immediately."

"Understood." Yang Luo replied.

"Damn, what happened to the dog? How could such a big problem arise?" Ye Jianlong's face looked very ugly.

Yang Luo's face was equally ugly.
