Chapter 468 Under the order of the national teacher, pick up his righteous brother, Master Xuanzang!(1/2)

Chapter 468: Following the order of the Imperial Master, I accept my adopted brother Master Xuanzang!

Author: Duguhuan

Xuanzang's words were clear and powerful, reaching everyone's ears, causing the expressions of the disciples of Daxingshan Temple who originally respected him to change drastically, revealing incredible expressions.

This water monkey was actually raised by Xuanzang!

"Xuan Zang, why are you doing this!"

The bearded monk holding a long whip said angrily, his eyes full of disappointment.

"Senior Brother Xuanye, I know that your junior brother and master all died in the flood. You hate Water Monkey very much, but every injustice has its own owner, and those have nothing to do with Xiaotang."

Xuanzang said word by word: "There are good and bad in people, and water monkeys are no exception. All things have spirits. How can we Buddhist disciples be blinded by hatred?"

The bearded monk said angrily: "Those who are not from my race must have different minds. As for these monsters, no matter what Dharma they preach, just kill them!"

He raised the whip and was about to throw it down, trying to force Xuanzang to move away, but Xuanzang remained motionless and looked calm.

"Senior Brother Xuanye, if you harm someone's life, what punishment should be imposed according to the temple regulations?"

Xuanzang asked suddenly.

The bearded monk's eyes were gloomy and he said: "Be whipped for ninety years!"

The whip here is not an ordinary whip, but an iron whip full of barbs in the hand of the bearded monk. One whip will make people's flesh and blood become bloody. Even a strong and strong man cannot withstand thirty whips.

Ninety lashes, ten deaths and no life!

However, Xuanzang untied the monk's robe on his upper body, revealing his fair and slender body. He sat down cross-legged, with his hands clasped together, and there was a tranquil Zen mood on his green face.

"In this case, Xuanzang is willing to receive ninety lashes to resolve the hatred in my senior brother's heart."

The bearded monk's heart trembled. He hesitated for a moment, and finally gritted his teeth and waved the whip towards Xuanzang.

In the first whip, he reserved seven points of his strength, hoping that Xuanzang would retreat when he saw the difficulty.

Snapped!

The whip hit Xuanzang's body, and his skin and flesh immediately tore open and blood splattered, but Xuanzang did not move, and even his expression was calm, without any ripples.

Xiaotang behind him let out a shrill cry, crying very sadly.

Hearing the sound of the water monkey, hatred arose in the bearded monk's heart again. He waved his long whip and struck Xuanzang hard on the body without mercy.

One whip, two whips, three whips, four whips...

Under the setting sun, Xuanzang was covered in blood, his upper body was covered with bruises, and even pale bones could be vaguely seen. The long whip was stained red with blood, and the barbs were still attached to the flesh.

Xuanzang still kept his cross-legged posture, his forehead was covered with sweat, but his expression remained calm, and he chanted sutras in his mouth. There seemed to be a kind of generosity and broadness in the Buddha's body in his young voice, and the still water ran deep.

"The supremely profound and subtle Dharma has been encountered in hundreds of millions of calamities. Now that I have seen and heard it, I am willing to understand the true meaning of the Tathagata..."

The golden sunset shines on his scarred body, and from a distance, it looks like a red-gold Buddhist body, with a compassionate face and sacred solemnity.

He recited "Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva's Original Vow Sutra" and endured the torture calmly. Even though his body was riddled with holes, his spirit was like glass, shining brightly.

The bearded monk's eyes were filled with tears at some point. At the forty-second lash, his palms trembled and he finally dropped the whip.

Xuanzang opened his eyes and looked at him, without a trace of hatred, but full of pity.

"Brother, there is no need to blame yourself. As Buddhist disciples, we take it as our duty to save the common people, so why should we cherish this life?"

His voice was a little weak, but there was a firmness that was different from ordinary people. He looked around, and all the disciples of Daxingshan Temple lowered their heads, not daring to look directly into those bright and bright eyes.

"There is a saying in Mahayana Buddhism that all living beings can become Buddhas. Every flower, grass, leaf, tree, insect, and the candy behind me can all become Buddhas. Buddha is not in the scriptures, nor in the eyes of the world, but in ours.

In my heart.”

Xuanzang stood up staggeringly, stretched out his hand, and a cassock floated from his residence, decorated with the Seven Treasures of Buddhism and shining brightly.

Xuanzang did not wear it himself, but put the Jinlan cassock on Xiaotang in full view of everyone.

Kasaya did not resist, but instead glowed with a warm and mellow Buddha light, showing his closeness to Xiaotang.

Seeing this scene, Xuanzang laughed, as happy as a child.

Others felt as if they had been slapped in the head and were in a daze. This Buddhist treasure could actually be draped on the body of a water monkey. Is it true that, as Xuanzang said, even demons can become Buddhas?

You know, many disciples of Daxingshan Temple came to Xuanzang to see this Jinlan cassock, but not to mention putting it on, very few of them could even touch it.

Could it be that these disciples, who eat fast and chant Buddha's name day and night, are no better than a water monkey?

At this moment, an old and domineering voice suddenly sounded.

"Deceitful words!"

When everyone looked around, they saw a one-eyed old monk wearing a red cassock walking towards him, holding a golden Zen staff. He had a majestic face, a fierce aura, and his eyes were as sharp as a knife, making it difficult for people to look directly at him.

"It's broken. It's Uncle Kongji, the first disciple of the Discipline Academy. It is said that his eye was blinded by a demon, so he hates demons the most!"

"Now that the abbot is in seclusion, the affairs of the whole temple are under the charge of Uncle Kongji. I am afraid that Junior Brother Xuanzang will be in trouble..."

"Well, it is said that the abbot intends to accept Xuanzang as his disciple and take over the Daxingshan Temple in the future, so Uncle Kongji does not like Xuanzang..."

The monks bowed to Kongji, but they couldn't help but whisper.

Although Kongji has a high status and has the power to subjugate demons, his personality is too strong and extreme, and he is very domineering and is not loved by the disciples of Daxingshan Temple.

Someone once saw that during the flood in Chang'an, Kongji was only focused on chasing demons, and even turned a blind eye to the Buddhist disciples and people who fell into the water, allowing them to drown alive.

Kong Ji stood in front of Xuanzang. When he saw the Jinlan cassock on Xiaotang's body, a trace of greed flashed in his eyes.

The Jinlan cassock and the purple gold alms bowl are the most precious treasures of Buddhism, but they were both obtained by a young monk. It was a waste of natural resources, and the pearls were covered in dust. If these two treasures could get into his hands, I don’t know how many monsters he could kill!

There was also the old fool, the abbot brother, who actually wanted to accept Xuanzang as his disciple and wanted him to take over the Daxingshan Temple in the future. Fortunately, Xuanzang was also a fool and was stupid enough to refuse.

But this incident touched the bottom line of Kongji. In his heart, the position of abbot of Daxingshan Temple belongs to him.

"Xuan Zang, how dare you insult my Buddhist treasure!"

The Zen staff in Kong Ji's hand shook, and golden brilliance suddenly appeared on the ground, forming a swastika shape, and fixed Xuanzang in place.

Then he gathered his magic power and tried to take the Jinlan cassock into his hands, but a bright Buddha's light suddenly bloomed from the Jinlan cassock, floating on Xuanzang's body, shattering Kongji's body-fixing technique.

Kong Ji's body trembled, and he took two steps back, looking at Jin Lan's cassock with even more intense eyes.

What a good baby!

"Xuan Zang, feeding demons is a capital crime. No matter how you argue today, you will never leave this temple alive!"

Xuanzang put his hands together and recited the Buddha's name.

"Xuan Zang met Uncle Kongji. My eldest brother said that monsters are not all bad. If they are good to people, they can also live in the capital."

"My eldest brother also said that the Tang Dynasty could tolerate all the people in the world, so naturally it could also give those kind-hearted monsters a place to stand."

Make more friends and make fewer enemies. This is the idea that Li Daoxuan once discussed with Xuanzang. Those kind and lawful monsters should also become part of the Tang Dynasty, enjoy themselves and live in harmony with the people.

If these kind-hearted monsters are forced to oppose them, it will only cause greater harm to the people.

Xuanzang fully recognized and agreed with this concept. When he mentioned his eldest brother, his eyes almost lit up.

Kong Ji mocked: "Who is your elder brother? He does whatever he says? Then I also said that all monsters in the world should be exterminated!"

After a pause, he continued: "Xuan Zang, do you have to save this monster today?"

Xuanzang said firmly: "We must save him!"

Kong Ji turned his one eye and snorted coldly: "You can save it if you want. If you are willing to give me this cassock and the alms bowl, I can spare your life!"

Xuanzang was stunned for a moment. He looked at the injured and dying Xiaotang behind him. If Xiaotang was not healed, he might not be able to survive.

"What, you can't bear to leave?"

"It's okay if you don't want to. As long as you kill this water monkey with your own hands, I can forgive you for desecrating Buddha treasures and raising monsters."

Kong Ji knew that Xuanzang would never kill the water monkey, so he deliberately provoked Dao.

Xiaotang looked at Xuanzang with pleading eyes, hoping that he would kill her.

Xuanzang sighed softly and said, "If you want it, I'll give it to you."

With a wave of his hand, the Jinlan cassock on his body floated towards Kongji, including the purple gold alms bowl in the room.

Kong Ji stretched out his hand to take the two treasures, his eyes full of excitement. He did not expect that Xuanzang was really stupid enough to give him these two Buddhist treasures!

Stroking the soft silk of Jinlan cassock, he was so excited that his hands were trembling.

Xuanzang untied the rope that tied Xiaotang, picked it up and prepared to leave Daxingshan Temple.

boom!

The flames came and ignited the firewood around them, trapping Xuanzang and Xiaotang inside.

Kong Ji laughed loudly and said with murderous intent: "All the monsters in the world should die, and people like you who willingly fall into the company of monsters should also die!"

This flame was set off by his magic, intending to burn Xuanzang and the water monkey alive.

"Junior Brother Xuanzang!"

"Uncle Kongji, how can you not keep your word!"

"Yes, monks don't lie!"
