Chapter 13 Escape from the Storage Room
I staggered a few steps back, feeling like I was about to die. The ghosts in front of me seemed to be spinning around me. I stumbled and almost fell to the ground.
"It's okay, it's nothing serious!" Xu Lai rushed over at some point. He was supporting me with one hand, and he was chopping mahogany pieces with the other hand.
He helped me push me to the corner, then took out a talisman and spat on it. He put the talisman on my throat and said to me, "Press it with your own hands.
Once the ghost energy is removed, everything will be fine!"
I was feeling a little uncomfortable at first, but I felt a lot more energetic after hearing his message. But seeing his spit made me feel sick. I stared at him for a while, not knowing whether I should reach out and pick it up.
"Why, you don't believe me? Don't worry, there won't be any bacterial infection." Xu Lai seemed to have seen what I was thinking and comforted me.
I dubiously pressed the talisman to my throat and stood behind Xu Lai.
"What are you doing here?" Xu Lai glared at me, as if he hated iron and steel, "Hurry up and block them all!"
"Why don't you go?" I replied, except that my voice was a little hoarse, there was nothing strange about it.
However, no matter what he said next, I couldn't let Xu Lai hold a gun and use it. Xu Lai originally asked me to come to control the situation, but I did something along the way.
"Then do you still want to go out?" Xu Lai fully understood what I wanted most right now. He glanced at me and said calmly: "If you don't want to go out, just pretend I didn't say anything."
I rolled my eyes at Xu Lai, took two deep breaths, and went up to him with a peach branch. However, this time I felt that the ghost's power seemed to be much weaker.
My throat feels uncomfortable now and I am too lazy to speak. After all, it is a good thing for me that the ghost has become weaker, so I did not ask Xu Lai the reason.
"Come here quickly!" Xu Lai shouted to me as soon as I rushed out.
When I heard this, I felt happy. It looked like I could go out. I didn't care about the ghost in front of me, so I ran towards the wall.
"Bang!" There was a muffled sound.
I felt a pain on my forehead. The wall was still a wall, and there were still a group of ghosts behind me.
"What's going on?" I asked Xu Lai.
"What's going on? Why are you banging your head against the wall? I asked you to come over and help me." Xu Lai explained to me.
"Help you? Help for what?" I frowned, feeling that getting out of here was not as easy as Xu said.
"Hold the sword tightly for me!" Xu Lai winked at me. I followed his gaze and saw that he was holding the peach wood sword in both hands. At this time, half of the peach wood sword's blade was covered by him.
Plugged into the wall.
Although I don't know how Xu Lai did it, but looking at his burly look, I knew it must not be easy. It was too late to ask, so I threw the peach branch on the ground and stretched out my hand to hold the sword.
"If you can't do it with one hand, use two hands!" Xu Lai suddenly became anxious when he saw me like this. I knew that Xu Lai couldn't lie to me at this time, so I quickly took the other hand off my throat.
As my hand loosened, the talisman on my throat fell to the ground. I stretched out my hand to pick it up, but Xu Lai continued to warn: "Hold it tight. I'll put another one on you when you go out."
"
After saying that, Xu Lai leaned over and followed the edge of the peach wood sword and got into the wall, leaving only his lower body here.
The ghost behind me was getting closer and closer. I gritted my teeth and continued to stand where I was, holding the mahogany sword tightly. Although Xu Lai didn't emphasize anything to me, I knew that if I let go at this time, Xu Lai would probably not be able to come back.
Already.
Sure enough, after a while, I saw Xu Lai's body retreating continuously, and more and more parts were exposed, first his chest, then his head, and finally only his hands were left in the wall.
"Get up!" Xu Lai shouted, kicking his feet on the wall. As his voice fell, he actually pulled out a door from the wall.
"Hurry up!" Xu Lai seemed to have exhausted all his strength, and even his words were accented.
"Okay!" I responded, turned around and got directly into the door.
The moment I entered the door, I felt my body relax, and then I fell to the ground. Before I could get up, I was pinned down by something.
"What is it?" I felt that the thing was soft and warm, and I was startled.
"It's me!" Xu Lai's voice came, and I breathed a sigh of relief again.
No, where are we? Why is it so dark here in the middle of winter? Could it be that we haven’t come out yet?
"Xu Lai, are we still in the storage room?" I asked feebly. Thinking of this possibility, I couldn't help but feel a little desperate.
"Who said that? We are in the store now!" Xu Lai pressed on me, rolled to the side and continued to lie on the ground.
"How is this possible? Why is it so dark here?" I was a little confused, but I didn't see any ghosts around, as if this was indeed not a storage room.
"You didn't turn on the light!" Xu Lai sighed and said to me helplessly.
"How late is it and it's already dark?" I didn't believe it. After all, it was still daytime when Xu Lai and I entered the storage room, and it wasn't even noon yet.
However, the time spent in the storage room did make me feel like my days were like years. Thinking of this, I couldn't help complaining to Xu Lai: "You had a way to get out a long time ago, why did you have to delay it until now?"
"Why have I delayed it until now? Do you think that method is easy and you can do it as soon as you say it?" Xu Lai was obviously a little angry, so he asked a question, and then explained: "Using this method will shorten your life.
It’s a matter of life.”
It's my turn to be embarrassed. If you say so, then it's really justifiable for him to do this. If it were me, I wouldn't use this method easily unless it was a life or death situation.
I lay on the ground and didn’t know what to say, but after all, it was Xu Lai who rescued me, so I had to express my gratitude. After resting for a while, I asked apologetically: "Are you okay then?"
Well, how many years of life have been lost this time?”
"An hour." Xu Lai said weakly.
"How many?"
"One hour."
"Then why didn't you use it earlier? I thought your life would be shortened by seven or eight years!" To be honest, I was really speechless. I didn't expect Xu Lai to persist for so long just to live for one more hour.
"What? That's too little? Let me tell you, if I were thinking like you, then I would use it once whenever I encountered any difficulty, and I would be dead by now!" Xu Lai said to me.
His attitude was somewhat dissatisfied and he made a sarcastic remark.
"Then if you smoke less, you can live an extra hour." I replied, not quite agreeing with Xu Lai's explanation. Although his statement did make some sense at first glance, it also depends on the occasion, just like just now
We were trapped in the storage room for more than a few hours.
"Sorry, I don't smoke." Xu Lai said lightly, not wanting to talk to me at all.
I was stunned when I heard this. I didn't expect Xu Lai to say these words, but after all, I owed Xu Lai's "life-saving grace", so I didn't say anything more.
After a while, I groped my way up and went to the front desk to turn on the light. Xu Lai seemed to have almost rested, and I heard him standing up over there.
I fumbled behind the front desk for a while, but couldn't find the switch, so I was about to touch along the edge of the front desk. But as soon as I stretched out my hand, a hand stretched out from the side and took my hand.
