Chapter 20 The butterfly effect, two people whose fate changed
Gathers suddenly fell to the ground, leaving everyone present unprepared.
Lu Feng thought that his arrival would cause some butterfly effects. He originally wanted to remind Gathers to remember to take medicine on time after the game, but he did not expect that an accident happened before he had time.
He speculated that Gathers had secretly stopped taking medication because the game attracted too much attention, he was worried that the team would lose, and wanted to ensure his condition.
Thinking of this, Lu Feng could only pray silently in his heart, hoping that he could cause more butterfly effects...
Historically, Hank Gathers had an accident on the court at the end of the 1990 NCAA regular season, and his opponent was not the Washington Huskies.
And it's just the beginning of the season, and Gathers has probably not taken his medication many times.
The other two teams compete in Seattle. As a West Coast medical center since the 1980s, Seattle has the best medical conditions and on-site first aid measures in the United States. The only one that can compare with Seattle is Cleveland. Gaithers has a high probability of surviving.
Doctors from the University of Washington Hospital and Affiliated Hospitals rushed to the scene quickly and carried Gathers into the player tunnel. After the scene stabilized, the game started again after being interrupted for more than ten minutes.
Lu Feng put aside the distracting thoughts in his heart and returned to the game state!
As of the commercial break in the second quarter, Lu Feng had scored 55 points. After Gathers left the field, the LMU players lost their previous energy and became a mess because they were worried about him.
In the 2 minutes after returning from the timeout, Lu Feng scored three goals in a row, but this time no one from LMU stepped forward to respond in time. The game was completely killed. Both teams replaced substitute players with tacit understanding. The game
Entering garbage time.
The referee's whistle sounded, and at the end of the game the Huskies defeated LMU 124:110, 14 points!
Lu Feng played 32 minutes and scored 61 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists.
Although Lu Feng produced terrible statistics as planned before the game, he was not happy at all. Rather than the statistics and winning, he was more worried about Gathers. He didn't want to do it in a way that he didn't want to do.
Get in the newspaper.
After the game, the players from both teams did not accept on-site interviews. They all left the field in a hurry after saying a few words. Lu Feng also said hello to Zhang Weiping and changed the interview time to tomorrow.
In the members' passage, a group of people were crowded together without making any sound.
As soon as Lu Feng came over, he saw Jeff Brown lowering his head in annoyance.
"Lark, shouldn't I have done that? I gave him too much resistance. I obviously just wanted to consume his energy..."
"No, Jeff, this is not your responsibility, it was just an accident." Lu Feng whispered.
He worried that Jeff Brown would become like Wilt Chamberlain because of self-blame.
Chamberlain is a historical NBA star. He has a scoring ability that far exceeds his era. He even scored 100 points in a single game. He is the strongest attacker of his era, bar none!
However, he only won two NBA championships in his later years. The biggest reason was that his defense was not good and he was afraid of confrontation on defense. Therefore, he was called a softie by many fans.
That's right, Chamberlain was just afraid of confrontation when he was on defense. He was not soft at all when he was attacking. In the words of Ma Ji 20 years later: "The fouls Chamberlain suffered now (in 2010) are all technical fouls!" <
/p>
But Chamberlain has a historical level of physical talent, and I know that as long as he takes it seriously, there is no way he will be bad.
His defense is not good, purely because he has a mentality problem and does not dare to fight when defending!
When he first entered the NBA, Chamberlain had an accident after blocking an opponent's layup.
After the opponent's player was blocked, he fell heavily to the ground and collapsed. After a doctor's examination, he found that his calf was not protected when he landed and was fractured.
In that era of insufficient medical care, fractures were not a minor problem, but a major injury that would affect life. It was not just as simple as losing a sports career. If the recovery was not good, it might also lead to lifelong disability.
Most NBA players of that era only played part-time. A fracture would not only mean leaving the NBA, but also losing many job opportunities after losing athletic ability.
Thinking of this, Lu Feng stepped forward to comfort Jeff Brown in time, but he also knew that this would not be of much use. If Gathers' fate remained unchanged, this game would probably become an eternal shadow in the hearts of everyone in the game.
NBA stars who came to watch the game also came to the emergency room and whispered comfort to the LMU players. No one wanted to hear bad news.
A few minutes later, the door to the emergency room finally opened and a doctor came out.
"Doctor, how is Hank? Is he awake?" Birkin Bell asked impatiently.
"The patient's vital signs have recovered and he just woke up..."
"Oh my god, that's great!"
"God, bless Hank..."
The doctor quickly waved his hand, signaling everyone to lower their voices. He reminded:
"The patient needs to be quiet now. Please don't make any noise. In addition, we need to observe his recovery. He needs to be transferred to the hospital. I'm afraid he can't leave with you."
Knowing that Gathers was out of danger, the members of both teams calmed down. After a brief greeting, everyone made an appointment to go to the hospital to visit him tomorrow morning.
"Hey, Luck, you played really well. You have been scoring goals today. We have absolutely nothing to do with you. How many points did you score, 55 or 60?" Birkin Bell chatted with Lu Feng. It was obvious that he
Haven't calmed down yet.
"Hank has always had a heart disease. Maybe he didn't want to lose to you. He was too excited, so this happened..."
No, it's because he didn't take medicine...
Lu Feng thought silently in his heart. Although he knew it, he did not say it directly.

In addition, Lu Feng observed that Jeff Brown beside him was obviously relieved. He felt much less guilty when he learned that Gathers fainted because of his poor heart and that no tragedy had happened.
The next morning, players from both teams went to the University of Washington Hospital to visit Gathers.
On the way, the Huskies players also learned the reason why Gathers fainted. The players and coaches who attended LMU last night received the news and told the Huskies people.
"Damn it, he didn't take the medicine the doctor gave him yesterday. The doctor clearly said that the medicine should not be stopped every day. I really don't know what he was thinking!"
Bergin Bell was very angry, even more angry than the LMU coach
After seeing Gaithers, Kimbell couldn't hold back and scolded him severely. Gaithers kept bowing his head and apologizing.
Lu Feng couldn't understand Gathers's thoughts. As a basketball genius, he had the opportunity to change his destiny. Such irresponsible behavior made Lu Feng feel stupid.
More than 20 years of hard work has yet to reap the rewards, and his family's financial situation has not improved because of the scholarship, because Gathers still has a wife and children, and the hope of the family of four rests entirely on him!
Birkin Bell was equally stupid. In the original history, he would fight for a completely hopeless game and ruin his bright future. Lu Feng couldn't figure it out. Even if it was for the deceased Hank Gathers, considering that he stayed
My wife and daughter, Kim Bell, shouldn’t have received that injection.
"Lark, I'm glad you can come and see me, but we won't lose next time. See you in March Madness!"
"No, you can't do it. You know, I scored 61 points yesterday, and you can't guard me at all!"
"If you want to stop me, come back when you are well. See you in March Madness. But then, I hope you don't forget to listen to the doctor before the game and take your medicine on time."
"Of course! I can't do that again. The doctor told me yesterday..."
……
After walking out of the hospital, Lu Feng took a long breath. He was very happy that the butterfly effect he caused had saved Gaithers... No, not just Gaithers, but also Birkin Bell.
