Chapter 361, Dan Wan

Starlight spread across the entire sky, and the mountain village at night looked so quiet and peaceful, sheltering these kind and poor people.

In the dark night, no one saw that in the spring water at the end of the mountain col, the water rippled slightly and a figure gradually emerged.

He was wearing rattan clothes, with long hair tied behind his head. He was broad in stature, but looked very thin. The most conspicuous thing was the dagger at his waist, which was exactly the same as the dagger in Da Dao's home.

He floated away from the spring water, grabbed two yam eggs in front of the mountain temple, and wolfed them down.

After eating, he lay back and let out a long sigh, enjoying the deliciousness of the yam eggs. Then he pointed to the spring water, picked up a wisp of water and held it in his mouth, savoring the aftertaste of the yam eggs over and over again.

Then, he stretched out and floated lightly, passing through the simple houses in Shan'ao Village, bypassing the tall trees, and stopped in front of the wooden house of Dayou's family.

He took out a small package wrapped in banana leaves from his arms and placed it in front of Dayou's pillow. He pointed at the back of Dayou's head and muttered something. It seemed that he had told Dayou some spell.

After doing this, he floated out of the wooden house silently, walked around the big tree, passed through the villagers' wooden houses, and returned to the end of the mountain col.

When he jumped into the spring water, he didn't splash a drop of water. He seemed to melt into it and disappeared...

The next day, when the sun shone into the col again, Dayou woke up.

He smelled a fresh fragrance, a fragrance he had never smelled before. He lowered his head to check and saw the small green bag on the bedside.

That peculiar fragrance comes from the banana leaves.

Dayou opened his small purse, and inside were two round, red pills, shining brightly in the sunlight. What were these, and why did they appear on his bedside?

Da Ya woke Er Ya up, Er Ya shook her head and said it was not hers.

Since it doesn’t belong to Dayou or Erya, why does it appear in my own home?

Erya said: "What is this? It seems to be something delicious."

Da Ya remembered the wild grapes his father had picked from outside when he was a child. Some were sour and some were slightly sweet. At that time, he and Er Ya were so sour that they lost their teeth.

Looking at these two fragrant things, Erya thought of the peanut beans she ate when she was a child. The mother next door rolled the peanuts in flour and fried them in a pan. The taste was really delicious.

Erya reached out and took one and said, "Since you found it at home, it belongs to us. Let's take one for each of us."

She put the pill into her mouth and felt a refreshing and warm feeling emanating from her mouth to her throat, where it quickly melted.

She swallowed it and immediately felt warm in her abdomen, as if she had drank a glass of hot water. The warmth spread in her abdomen and penetrated into her internal organs.

"What a strange thing." Erya frowned, carefully appreciating the strange feeling in his body.

Da Ya also picked up the pill and put it into his mouth. After he swallowed it, as the heat dissipated, he suddenly thought of practicing martial arts.

"Erya, let's practice the exercises quickly." He said as he sat down to meditate. Without even thinking about it, a set of exercises naturally appeared in his mind.

He exhaled and adjusted his breath according to his own feelings, and he felt extremely comfortable. It seemed that his meridians were smoother and his heart and lungs were full of vitality.

After he got lucky, he quickly asked Erya to meditate and taught Erya the skills he had just realized.

The two of them sat under the wooden house and practiced luck all day. They didn't feel hungry or thirsty. This feeling was an experience they had never experienced before, and it was very exciting.

Da Ya said: "Who gave this to us? Isn't it an elixir?"

He stood up, drew out his short knife and struck it out quickly. A bolt of lightning flew up and chopped down a huge boulder in the distance!

Erya also grabbed a long stick and flew to split the boulder. The boulder was actually shattered with a stick mark!

The two stared at each other with wide eyes, unable to believe that a small pill had more than doubled their power.

It was getting dark, but they couldn't help but run to the grandfather's house and tell him this strange thing.

The old man's eyes widened and he murmured: "I can't believe you really invited the mountain god."

Da Ya and Er Ya were shocked. Could it be that the mountain god heard their petition yesterday and appeared in the evening to give them pills to help them improve their cultivation!

The two of them blinked and thought: "This thing seems to be true. It's almost the same."

Early the next morning, the two boiled two more yam eggs, ran to the mountain temple, respectfully lit bamboo incense and kowtowed three times.

Da Ya said: "Mountain God, we know that it is you who appears to help us defeat the Earth God. You will lead us to defeat the Earth God, and then I will bring you more tributes."

Erya said: "After we defeat the hateful land god, we will go to the sea to fish for you to eat."

The two solemnly swore an oath and then left carefully.

They returned to the wooden house and began to practice their internal skills. After practicing for a month, their cultivation level improved drastically. The brother and sister also practiced double coordination, which doubled the power of their attacks.

With their cultivation improved, they felt more confident. They prepared daggers and wooden sticks, and patrolled the cliffs again, looking for the monster they encountered last time.

They still used their kung fu to protect the acupuncture points all over their body, and walked carefully towards the edge of the cliff. When they lowered their heads and looked down, they were shocked. A month later, the swamp mud had climbed more than ten feet higher, and had swallowed up everything around the foot of the mountain!

The foot of the mountain, which used to be lush and green, is now covered in black mud and all the grass has disappeared. There are only patches of woods, still stubbornly standing in the swamp, as if they are going to fight the swamp to the end.

The big tree that my father climbed before his death seemed to have turned a lot yellow from a distance. I was afraid that it would not last long and would eventually be swallowed by the swamp.

It seems that the magic power of this land god is becoming more and more powerful. He is driving the swamp forward and occupying more and more territory.

While Da Ya and Er Ya were marveling, a seabird accidentally broke into the sky above the swamp from the sea and was immediately sucked in the true energy. It struggled in panic and flew to the top of the mountain, but still failed to escape its fate and fell to the edge of the cliff.

Erya said: "Brother, go pick it up quickly and give it to the mountain god as a tooth-beating sacrifice!"

Dayou looked over and saw that the bird had landed on a pine tree on the edge of the cliff. The two ran over, and Dayou climbed down the cliff, picked up the bird in his hand, and threw it up with all his strength.

Erya took the bird and was overjoyed. She hugged the bird and kissed it. They had not eaten meat for many years and had not seen other animals. All the animals on the island had been sucked by the swamp and died.

Da Ya climbed up the cliff, panted and sat on the ground, resting for a while.

Then, Da Ya hung the bird on his waist, and the two continued to look for traces of the swamp monster.
