Postscript—On the Self-Praise of Amateur Writers(1/2)
Commemorating the eighth anniversary of Mr. Wang Xiaobo’s death.
____________________
I remember Wang Xiaobo said in "The Silent Most" that once we want to speak, we will no longer be the silent majority. Once I consider serializing things on the Internet, I don't have to pretend to be taciturn and low-key. I just say whatever I want to say, and I don't say anything when I don't want to say it. Since speech is relatively free, whether to speak should be free.
I did countless ridiculous things in the process of writing "The Legend of Rebirth", including listening to pop songs for 1980 or 90 years and even looking for photos of celebrities at that time. Although these things may not be of great help to write things, they are also interesting. Of course, this includes spending three hours to watch "Titanic" again to write a plot. If you list them one by one, you can be considered a little more careful while writing things without any care. If you do promotion or something, these amateur homework can be regarded as one of the capitals of self-proclaiming. However, I personally think that in more writing, these small things are as ordinary as eating and drinking water, and are things that should be divided into parts. There is really nothing to brag about, so I plan to consider my own meaning from a different perspective.
Undoubtedly, "The Legend of Rebirth" cannot be regarded as a novel. It is at most an attempt, including writing comments into stories or turning stories into comments. I heard someone say that playing these tricks at Qidian is useless, as long as you tell the truth, just push over (Ke Rui's sister killed me...) it will be fine. I don't believe it, and I just came to try the website in the end. I was surprised that someone was willing to support it. It could have been reduced to 200,000 words or expanded.
The story of 3 million words was so confused that hundreds of thousands of words were fooled. To be honest, I felt it was quite hard these days, and I haven’t written so many words for a long time. When I was having dinner with a friend, he said that this person has been working as an editor for five years since the beginning of 2000 and now. The words he wrote are not as much as I have written in the past few months. I hummed and thought that there are not many people I can write. Look at the XX and XXXX...
Personally, I am very dissatisfied with the stories and words of rebirth. Of course, I have also thought that if I could experience it for a few years, the words might be more refined, but they are not as festive as they are now. Maybe the way of thinking can be more fair, but they are not as honest as they are now. Maybe they want to express more things, but they are not as trusting in feelings and trusting people. As a poor writer, the first thing I learned is self-comfort. After all, if I don’t have thick skin and don’t have a strong mind, I won’t consider putting my own unfamiliar words on the Internet. Being able to survive these few months, and even begin to get used to thinking about writing something every day, it has something to do with our rough manly heart. Of course, if there are MM willing to make it delicate, I don’t like it.
Personally, I think the biggest benefit of "The Legend of Rebirth" to me is to enrich myself, which is also the benefit advocated by most friends who write things. People's memory and knowledge are very limited. Except for a few monster-level powerful people who can use their brains as hard drives, most people do not have enough understanding of themselves and knowledge. I have fantasized many times that I have become busy and fulfilled during a certain period of time, and supplemented some things I have forgotten or were not proficient in before. The writing process of "The Legend of Rebirth" gave me this opportunity, and I am very satisfied. These enrichment includes going to Shenzhen twice to recall the details of the streets of Shenzhen, having dinner at the first McDonald's in Guangzhou, and even catching four or five fake foreigners to ask for details when writing about the immigration plot... Of course, these things cannot be reflected in the text, but I know that I got them, which is a great benefit.
"The Legend of Rebirth" takes a false and deep path, but it is actually very frivolous. I believe many people can see it, so it is easy to draw the conclusion that the author is actually a little bit. As some senior Chinese writers said, "A big book of life, we just read a few pages and couldn't wait to express our opinions on the blank space next to us. So I should be glad that many people are as vulgar as me in their frivolous life and perceptions. Or, in these unaware ideas, half of which can be settled down and become temporary correct. But I do like this kind of glitz. There is no chassis in the pyramids, and there is no spire. Some things can reach a certain level, and higher pursuits... I don't have it.
In the article, I affirmed the power of pop culture. In fact, in addition to the emotion that many romance female writers have changed the concepts of generations of women, I do feel that we are in the era of media today, and the practice of conveying certain concepts and consciousness from shallow to depth is to adapt to this era. Without Yao Ming, there must be not so many Chinese children who love basketball. This is the power of guidance.
If an author is always eager to tell others what he wants to express, then this author is undoubtedly a failure. I probably belong to this kind of author. Because the postscript starts, I have denied that the expression ability of my work can reach the point where most people understand what I want to say. In this story, I try to provoke many topics, not give them too many definite answers, and try to ask some questions without solving them. This is also my usual bad habit. The ending of speaking too much in vernacular often cannot give people the feeling of being blank. Rebirth is as straightforward as possible in language. The consequence is that it is not easy to leave a trace of a little thing in the readers' minds in a few sentences, which makes me hate my poor ability and also increase motivation. After all, people can grow, so I still have room for effort.
I have mentioned too much about words, movies, music and games in the story, so I won't say much about them here. Those views are not even the most shallow, but can only be said to be the fur in the fur. I think too many people have said too many things in this regard in culture, and basically I can't use anything I repeat. Or we can be a little confused when facing such an era of various cultures, and I still believe in the gentleman's use of the essay. Of course, many people may not remember the true face of the essay "Entertainment" and can only remember this word. This is quite a terrible thing. When we spread messages, we often only leave superficial phenomena and forget the meaning. Ancient fables can be misinterpreted into vicious satire today. Whose question is this?
Of course, in the process of rebirth writing, I faced another problem, that is the power of comments. To be honest, I am a person who can write a little comment, but I rarely write now, unless I give money, otherwise I will not talk about it. Comments are easy things. As long as you say the point, no matter how many points you say, it is a good comment. It is not like writing something. If you miss a hundred points, you can be criticized and die. In a sense, this is a terrible relationship of mutual importance. For example, when I was a child, I hoped to be a movie critic, because I thought it was a very easy job. But comments are comments. Zhang Yimou can sell you online comments to the box office of over 100 million yuan. Haiyan will use the police to sensationalism to watch those stick hands. Zhang Jizhong
Now he is a big producer, and the things he shoots are actually making money and making people famous - I am not saying that comments are insignificant power in this, I just think that since we can all practice in the field of online graffiti, then I am willing to read more works than comments. I have seen a few comments about rebirth, and some praises and criticisms, so I can only smile. If I used to say that I just refused and praised and criticized in private, then now I made it clear that I am indeed like this. Writing things is similar to *, and I am not comfortable yet, so I will not consider others for the time being... Of course, in a sense, I prefer to communicate some gains and losses with people in private rather than reading comments. I hope I can do at least one thing, that is, I will never ask for comments.
Mr. Hemingway always nagged that writing is a lonely life. I don’t know what kind of mood the literary master, who was not injured in the war, said this in a way that he said was good, although I don’t agree with this person’s way of ending his life.
I always think that we should write things to make ourselves richer, interests and knowledge, personality and spirit. These things should be because we think about it and realize it better or more positively. If we can't get these in the process of writing, it would be good to get money. If we can't get them, we should not get them - brother, why do you want to write things? Yes, writing is a lonely career, but this loneliness should be exchanged for more and more rich careers, not more depression and dissatisfaction. I know I am not qualified to say this, but I believe that it is enough to have someone to feel sympathy with me.
At the end of the story, I let Zhou Xingwen understand one truth, that is, no matter what kind of life, there will be infinite regrets, greatness cannot cover up regrets, and achievement cannot cover up regrets. The meaning of life is not whether you have regrets, but that you can face beauty and regrets calmly. Even if life cannot be repeated, there is no difference between us now and us who have returned, because no matter what, facing life calmly is the whole meaning of life, and there is sorrow and joy, love and sorrow.
Maybe it's a bit superficial to say this, but I already like this method. There are many things in this world that others may not have the heart to think about if you don't express them. Expression is very important. Because I like to express, I started writing things. Because I like to express, I have such a strong desire to express.
In this postscript, I would like to thank some people, such as those who want to support me in several readers, who have provided me with a lot of information in various aspects, as well as senior brother Ma Boyong and game editor Fu Xiaofei. Thank you for your generous use of your name to make me spoof, thank some friends around you for your encouragement and sarcasm, thank those who once accompanied me to rush the manuscript, thank friends, thank all the friends who have praised or criticized me. This story can make some people think about some problems a little bit, which is my biggest gain. Although I know that I am also a person with confusing thinking, I still hope to ask some questions. It doesn’t matter whether there is an answer. It’s enough for us to remember that there are still many problems to solve in life.
Finally, the data sheet of the Rebirth Legend is attached, which is a summary.
The following information is only part of the information I searched during the graffiti process of "The Legend of Rebirth", which does not include what I have confirmed so I don't need to query or have forgotten to query. It is just a reference. I pay high respect to all the giants. I walked forward on your shoulders. Although I didn't walk well, I stepped on your shoulders after all...
