Chapter 125 Lugo(1/2)

In the drizzle, Roger rushed to Lugo.

Through a purple-shirted forest, Roger saw the rushing water of the Minuo River roaring on the west, trying in vain to straighten the curved river.

A 10-15-meter-high wall stands on the edge of the woodland, made of huge schist, about 5,600 meters wide, and then turns.

This wall is well preserved and is one of the most perfect examples of castles in the late Roman Empire in Western Europe.

Roger felt that he seemed to have traveled to the ancient Roman Empire again.

The mail towers on the wall were one after another, but no one guarded them, just decorations.

The city gate facing south of Lugo City was locked for some reason, and no one agreed to shout.

Roger and his party could only walk 5,600 meters along the bent city wall, and finally saw the open city gate in the north.

The lazy guards at the door didn't care about anything except collecting money.

Roger walked into Lugo from Falsamen.

The walls that completely surround the town and the numerous sentry towers can be said to be the most conspicuous building in Lugo.

In addition, the weeds and ruins are also conspicuous.

There is also a church under construction.

I just saw the scattered craftsmen on the construction site, but I didn’t know that the construction would be completed in the year of the monkey and horse.

Fortunately, the inn is still open normally.

Victor negotiated the price with his boss, so he was busy taking care of his brother Danny and his girlfriend Miledi.

Roger rushed to the bed and didn't even eat supper.

He fell asleep until the afternoon of the next day, and Roger finally recovered some energy.

There are knights to report on the situation of the entire team:

"Half Danny needs to continue his bedtime cultivation. Sir Miledi can already sit up and eat.

"There are several caravans under Sir Miledi's men who have escorted the knights, and the blisters on the soles of their feet have suppurated."

"Is there a doctor in the town?"

"There is someone who only bleeds."

"Hey, God bless them."

"Several horses had their hooves broken."

“How about my ‘gift’?”

"There is a lump on the front leg. It must have hit the cliff when it hits the cliff, but it's not a big problem. Just rest for a while."

“Unfortunate.”

"Sir, please indicate your next plan."

"Let's talk about it after a few days of rest."

The rain became smaller and smaller in the following days, and gradually there were signs of stopping.

The soaking on Roger's feet is ready.

He couldn't stand the boredom in the house and took a few guards to the street.

The streets are very recession, and this town is not developing well in terms of trade or handicrafts.

Roger thought that there seems to be no tourism industry these days, so it should be fine to have a well-off town in the future by relying on the pilgrimage path and the Roman walls.

When passing by a corner, a thin man came over without looking at the road.

The man hit Roger.

Roger was nothing, the man staggered back a few steps.

The guard behind Roger rushed up and grabbed the man.

The guard said, "A thief."

The man struggled to get out, but the Normans crushed him.

Roger touched his waist: "The wallet is gone."

“Here.”

The guard took out two purses from the man's arms.

"Hi, who's the extra wallet?"

The man mumbled and didn't know what he was saying, and the Norman gave him a slap and made him shut up.

Both purses were sent to Roger.

"Sir, how do you deal with this thief?"

"How is it usually handled?"

"Chop off one hand."

The legal awareness of later generations made Roger feel that doing so was too cruel.

He thought that there was no loss anyway, so he let that person go.

So he said, "I don't want to see blood."

The guards under him obviously misunderstood Roger's meaning, and he broke the man's arm with a "click".

The thief wailed with his broken arm.

Roger sighed, blaming him for not explaining it clearly, but he could not blame his subordinates for this.

He took out a few dollars and threw them to the thief: "You go."

Then Roger turned and left.

"Celebrities please stay."

A Latin greeting behind Roger shuddered.

He seemed to have heard the classic saying by Shen Gongbao in "The Romance of the Gods": "Fellow fellow Taoists, please stay."

Roger pretended not to hear it. He remembered that anyone who was stopped by Shen Gongbao's words "Fellow fellow Taoists, please stay" would not end well.

He quickly walked towards the inn, but behind him he followed in a gloomy voice.

Roger knew he couldn't escape, so he turned around and looked.

He saw that the man was dressed up with a priest. His chin should be covered with beards, and the Mediterranean above his head was also covered with fluffy short hair. Obviously, this man hadn't shaved his hair for a while and had a face repair.

It is normal not to have time to take care of it on the pilgrimage, but what surprised Roger was that the priest did not wear a cross.

In this era when ordinary people would tie two wooden sticks into crosses and carry them on their bodies, there were actually missionary priests who did not carry crosses?

The missionary came forward and said:

"Catholic, I see that you are confused and your soul is looking forward to leading.

“Like dry land, longing for the soaking of rain.

"I can help you and tell you the truth about this world."

Roger "Haha".

He thought, isn't it enough for me to be soaked in the rain these days?

He saw that the man didn't look threatening, so he stopped his subordinates from obstructing him.

Roger was so tired that he didn't want to talk some time ago, but he was actually very nervous.

Now I meet someone who wants to talk to him.

He thought, he couldn't hide anyway, and now he had nothing to do, so he was idle.

He said, "Come on, priest, let's go to the lobby and drink and chat."

So Roger brought the missionary into the lobby.

He saw the boss in the lobby holding a teenager.

The young man explained: "I don't want to betray my debt, I can't find my wallet."

The boss refused to give in: "Then let's pay the bill with your clothes."

"I went out in a hurry and didn't bring any replacement clothes. I just gave you this outfit and asked me to go back to Lyon naked?"

"I don't care where you go naked, don't run away without paying."

Roger saw that the young man was dressed quite well. He was obviously a rich man, unlike a scoundrel who deliberately owed debts.

He touched the wallet in his arms, thinking that the town was not big and so depressed, and the thief probably had few targets. It is very likely that this person was the owner of the wallet.

Roger didn't care about the money, so he took out his wallet and walked over.

"Is this your wallet?"
