Chapter 1 Escape
It was dark at night, and the door of the room was suddenly pushed open. A black shadow, carrying a gust of cold wind, flashed to the bed, shaking the sleeping boy awake.
"Zi Ming, the Longxiang Gang is in danger. This is the Wang family's most precious treasure. You must keep it.
The people coming here are all monks, and most of them won’t attack mortals, so you should quickly find a way to escape!"
After saying that, he smiled miserably, rubbed the boy's head, and stuffed a skin bag into his hand.
The harsh exclamation and the sound of weapons clashing came from outside the door, making the still somewhat dazed young man suddenly wake up. He recognized the voice of Lao Jin and asked hurriedly:
"Father, what should you do?" But he found that the black shadow had disappeared into the dark night.
He hid the leather bag close to his body, hurriedly ran to the door and looked outside the room.
On the outer wall of the castle, some torches had been lit at some point, and the people under the light and shadow were all unfamiliar faces.
Inside the fort, gangs began to flee in panic, and there were sporadic fights, but what greeted them was a one-sided massacre.
Jin Ziming spotted the familiar figure running with an iron gun in his hand.
A silver arc was drawn in the sky, and amid the screams, a flying sword pierced Lao Jin's back calf, and the sword body drilled out, pinning him to the ground, unable to move.
Jin Ziming suppressed his fear and sadness, and ran towards Lao Li's house where he raised horses. He had three children, and it might be safer to hang out with them.
A frightened black horse passed in front of him, its mane looked particularly dazzling and frightening in the firelight.
Another ray of silver light lit up, passed through the flying black "long hair", and shot toward Jin Ziming's face. The flying sword carrying the powerful energy made him unable to dodge, and there was only fear and despair in his eyes...
…
His head sank suddenly, and the boy who was less than fifteen years old woke up from that nightmare again, with panic and grief still remaining in his eyes.
He knew in his heart that although this was a dream, Lao Jin was really gone and the Longxiang Gang was also over.
Jin Ziming has received rigorous training since he was a child and has had countless adventures in the wild, which has made him strong and muscular.
The waist, back, hands and feet are flexible and full of explosive power, and the broad shoulders are slightly exaggerated, like a strong adult warrior.
His introverted look made him look much more mature than his actual age, and he had a completely different temperament from the rough and tumble man in the world.
He has good facial features and can barely be considered handsome, and his overall style is rough and tough.
At first glance, he seems ordinary, and perhaps his strong physique is impressive. But if you look carefully for a while, you will feel that he has an indescribable flavor.
A slight "rustling" sound rang out in the woods, startling him.
He was able to escape from the southwest seaside of Xijinzhou to the dark forest only because of his special ears, strong body, and calmness and thinking ability that were beyond his peers. He was able to escape from numerous pursuits and interceptions.
Jin Ziming listened carefully and discerned that there was a person approaching quietly in the morning light from each of the four directions.
One of them was too strong and stepped on the dead leaves before making a sound. He instantly understood that it was the lingering guys from the Black Dragon Society who were chasing him.
They had been chasing him for more than six months. If nothing else, they should have learned from the survivors of the Longxiang Gang that Lao Jin might have left some good things for him, otherwise they would never have been so persistent.
His long-term escape career made him very cautious. He would rather endure hunger in the forest than light a fire when there was no fog.
The old tree he chose when he slept last night was very particular. There was a hole in the trunk from where he lay down to the ground, and two of the thick roots extending from the bottom were hollow.
He slid silently into the tree hole, and then nimbly drilled into a tree root, and suddenly his hair stood on end.
Jin Ziming couldn't help but turn his head and look. At the bottom of the tree hole, two groups of green lights lit up at some point. They were staring at him sinisterly. Soon the green lights began to retreat.
"It's a tree python!"
The snake's head retracted briefly, then rushed forward quickly, opening its mouth to bite the boy.
Jin Ziming used his hands and feet to escape forward along the hollow tree roots. The huge snake head hit the entrance, causing the tree to shake.
However, because the opening was too small and the bark was extremely tough, the tree python was unable to break through it. After several angry collisions, it simply got out of the tree hole and looked in the direction in which the young man was escaping.
Then it turned its head and realized that there were four people around it. There were actually so many people invading its territory.
The snake head shot towards one of the thin men. Unexpectedly, the man dodged and easily avoided its attack, and said calmly:
"Wei Feng, Huang Wu, you two kill this beast; Ma Gan, you and I search for that little thief."
Jin Ziming had already heard the sound of fighting. This hollow bark pipe was very long. He crawled out a hundred feet away, but just now he could not move forward because the hole was too small.
He pulled out his beloved Lengyue Knife, which he had picked up while diving in a lake in the forest. It was about four feet long and had a black blade, which was very heavy and sharp.
There are many chips and damages on the knife, and there are also some strange runes engraved on it.
It always felt cold to the touch, and the tip of the knife looked like a crescent moon. Jin Ziming named it "Leng Yue".
The knife gently opened a circular hole in the bark of the tree, and he drilled out.
The vegetation here is dense, and most of the leaves are dark green. The rising sun does not bring much light to the forest.
Thin mist appears from time to time, and the air is mixed with fresh green buds, decaying branches and leaves, and the smell of moisture.
The pursuer must have something special in his hand that can trace his trail, otherwise how would he be able to follow him again after a few days after losing the pursuit.
The tree python could only delay them for a little while, and would soon be chasing them again. This time the distance was too close, and if they continued running along the outer edge of the dark forest, it might be difficult to escape.
The only option is to take a gamble and run deeper. Maybe those first-order monsters can scare them away? I can only rely on my extraordinary ears to avoid danger more easily than them.
He adjusted his direction and started to trot, gradually getting faster and faster until he sprinted at full strength.
The two men in black had already killed the tree python. The hemp pole came out of the hole in the tree and they probed and said:
"Boss, he may have escaped from the hollow tree roots. I will use the wind chasing rat to measure his location."
"It's so close. I can find him by myself without using that little thing."
The thin man in the lead was named Hu Lei. He lay down, put his ear to the ground, and listened carefully. After five breaths, he smiled coldly and said:
"Running to the southwest, give chase!"
Jin Ziming looked at the big mountain ahead. The trees there were thicker and the light in the forest was dimmer.
"If you keep running away like this, you will eventually be unable to escape. You must find a way to fight back."
Not yet out of danger, he began to think about the dilemma he faced.
"This time, let's not escape at all and find a way to trap and kill those four people.
You can't run too far, you have to drag the pursuers and lead them into the territory of the first-order monsters." He finally made a decision.
He began to slow down and kept his ears open, not only to hear whether there were any monsters in front of him, but also to hear the distance of the four people behind him.
Soon, he detected the rapid footsteps of his pursuers, and he had to gallop into the dense forest again.
I am anxious in my heart. I have been deep into the place for so long. Besides ordinary beasts, why haven't I found those powerful monsters yet?
In the midst of panic, a heavy stamping sound suddenly came from the west, as if a huge thing was moving slowly.
Jin Ziming felt it carefully and was keenly aware that the beast had unique violence and power. He was overjoyed, it was a monster!
I just don't know which level it is, but I can't control that much now. If my life is bad and I encounter a second-level monster, I can only explain it there.
While keeping an eye on the pursuers, he approached the monster beast.
Gradually, he saw clearly what was in front of him. It was a spear-headed bear. It was mainly a first-level monster. It was considered a strong one among the first-level monsters. It was extremely fierce when it went crazy.
"Luck is pretty good." He felt a little relieved.
The pursuers in the rear were getting closer and closer, and Hu Lei smiled ferociously, knowing that the enemy would not be able to escape this time.
Jin Ziming slowly touched the gun-headed bear. When he, the bear demon and the pursuers formed a huge triangle, he touched a stone on the ground.
He used his middle finger to pop out and hit a tree in front of the pursuer. Then it bounced back and hit the bear's head.
The beast was disturbed and became very angry. He looked forward and immediately spotted Hu Lei and others. He roared and rushed away.
The four of them were shocked. Although they were considered strong among ordinary warriors, Hu Lei had even developed the so-called "Qi Refining Realm".
But that kind of inferior "internal strength" is not recognized by the world of cultivation at all. If you encounter a first-level monster, it will be a dead end.
btw: If you have never read the novel about cultivating immortals, you can briefly read Chapter 9. There is a quick introduction to the terminology of cultivating immortals. There is actually no reading threshold. Thank you!
