Chapter 516(2/2)
"Amitabha!" After greeting Master Wuti, he led them inside.
After seeing the Maitreya Buddha at the mountain gate, Chengkong worshiped normally. After seeing the Guanyin in the side hall, Chengkong also worshiped devoutly. When he walked to the middle, it was not the Main Hall, but the Lingxiao Hall, which enshrined the Jade Emperor. Chengkong looked up at the statue.
The glittering Jade Emperor was obviously stunned!
He Huan looked at his expression, it was interesting!
Long Teng was speechless, he was so boring!
How could the female bodyguard know the fun in this? Seeing them wandering around, she simply stopped following them and sat in the pavilion, watching the scenery and waiting.
Master Wuti also had a smile on his face.
Chengkong turned around and said: "Brother Wuti, why is the Jade Emperor worshiped here? Is Brother Wuti a Buddhist or a Taoist?"
Wu Ti smiled and said: "Zhonghe Temple is a Taoist temple, but there are no Taoist priests, they are all monks."
"Why is this?"
"Just because it has always been like this, Nanzhao and Dali have all offered sacrifices to heaven at Zhongyue Peak, and the sacrifice is for the Jade Emperor. On the Jade Emperor's birthday, people also have to worship at the mountain.
We also worship Guanyin, Maitreya, and the Jade Emperor in general. On the ninth day of the first lunar month, on the Jade Emperor’s birthday, we also hold temple fairs and offer alms for free.”
"ah!"
He Huan looked at the astonished Chengkong, interesting! Interesting!
Without forcing him to worship the Jade Emperor, Wu Ti led the confused and talented monk into the backyard. He Huan and Long Teng saw the excitement and followed.
When they went to the quiet room inside, Wuti poured tea for them, and there was a copy of the Tao Te Ching on the table!
It’s interesting! Master Wuti is also interesting!
He Huan waited for their quarrel with great interest.
Sure enough, as soon as Chengkong saw the Taoist classics, he couldn't wait to ask: "Brother, I have also read the Tao Te Ching. I admit that it is very reasonable, but I don't think it is mysterious!"
Wu Ti looked at He Huan, "What does the donor think?"
Hey! Didn't they quarrel? No, debated scriptures? Why did you ask about him?
He Huan said: "Although it is said that it is mysterious and mysterious, and there are many wonderful methods. But in fact, the Tao Te Ching is indeed not mysterious, but it is really wonderful and realistic. It talks about ways to govern the country and the people.
But when he proposed this method, Lao Tzu did a lot of thinking and explanation on the origin and operation laws of the universe. At that time, it was very detached. Even today, it is also a very scientific argument.
Borrowing the law of the universe, that is, Tao, Laozi hopes that when the monarch governs the country, he will follow nature like Tao, govern by doing nothing, and follow its own laws. To say that Tao follows nature is to learn from nature.
Just like what is said in the Avatamsaka Sutra, the sun and moon are in the sky. The sun and moon bring light to the world, but they are not for fame and fortune, and no one can interfere with the movement of the sun and moon. This is the Tao!
This is very superb, but it is indeed difficult to implement it. People are complicated. Therefore, Taoist theory cannot be used by rulers. After rulers adopted more active and specific Confucianism, Taoism moved towards the path of cultivating immortals.
Zhang Daoling of the Eastern Han Dynasty founded Taoism, seven hundred years later than Lao Tzu wrote the Tao Te Ching in the Spring and Autumn Period. Therefore, although Lao Tzu is revered as the leader, he did not actually found Taoism.
This is fundamentally different from other religions, and it is also the fundamental reason for the decline of Taoism. Because it was not a religion at the beginning. But it has deeply influenced us for thousands of years. Therefore, Lao Tzu has completed his act of becoming a saint.
Moreover, Taoism transforms the virtuous into the ignorant. Buddhism takes the initiative to contact all living beings, lowers the threshold, and has many regulations for believers. Taoism relies entirely on self-cultivation.
A thing that relies entirely on itself will naturally be unreliable and will naturally disperse. Because for ordinary people, unified rules are indeed needed to form a sense of identity and cohesion. Powerful religions and organizations are no better than this.
Taoism advocates inaction and it is really difficult to become a saint by oneself! Moreover, there are differences between Taoism and Taoism. At least I have never mentioned the ghosts and gods of Taoism.
The Tao Te Ching is a sutra for entering the world, but it talks about the way of inaction. Buddhist classics are sutras for transcending the world, but they talk about the fate of all living beings. This is a two-way dialectic.
Although Taoism has declined today, Taoist gods have been deeply rooted in people's hearts. In fact, ordinary people cannot distinguish between Buddhism and Taoism, and they only worship whatever they think is useful to them."
Master Wuti nodded, "Yes, religion is a place that comforts the souls of ordinary people. We will do whatever the people want."
Chengkong still looked confused.
"In a few days it will be the Jade Emperor's birthday, the most lively temple fair in Cangshan. Chengkong, would you like to attend it here?" He Huan said with a smile.
"Okay!" Chengkong agreed. It seemed that his confused little mind was eager to see what it would be like for a group of Buddhist disciples to lead believers to worship the Jade Emperor.
Long Teng looked at He Huan, he was really bored!
Suddenly there was a commotion outside, and several monks were heard advising: "Donor, this is a place for Buddhist disciples to practice. Donor, please stay away."
Then a young monk ran in and looked at Xiao Bailong and Miss Long again, "Master, there is a donor outside who said that Xiao Bailong deceived his daughter and asked us to hand him over!"
