Chapter 712 Roger, your father won the award(2/2)

"Ahem...Thank you everyone. I stand here on behalf of all the other actors who are as qualified as me to receive this award, if they are not more qualified..."

Tom Hanks is not as intense as last year, when he even made his high school teacher come out as gay. This year he is obviously much more nervous than last year.

"I can stand here thanks to the woman who lives with me. She is like Forrest Gump and taught me what love is."

Hanks first came up to thank his wife Rita Wilson. The camera turned to her appropriately. In the close-up, Rita Wilson had tears in her eyes. It seemed that the two really loved each other.

"I would also like to thank the director of Forrest Gump, Ronald Lee. He set a very tight shooting schedule (laughs)... but he also took on a much harder job than me, and was much bigger than us.

Too many risks..."

The camera turned to Ronald at the right time. He was slightly better than Rita Wilson and seemed to be able to keep smiling...

"I stand here, and there are only two words that can express my emotions at this moment, thank you! God bless you and everyone here."

Diane also held Ronald's hand tightly at this time, and next was the Best Director Award.

After the song and dance performance, Spielberg came on stage. He was the winner of this award last year and it was up to him to announce this year's winner.

Spielberg seemed very nervous and did not feel comfortable with such an occasion. "This year's nominees have handled many different themes with superb skill and creativity... They are:

Woody Allen, Bullets Are Flying Over Broadway;

Ronald Lee, Forrest Gump;

Quentin Tarantino, Pulp Fiction;

Robert Redford, Quiz Show;

Krzysztof Kesilovsky, the three primary colors of red..."

By convention, each director who is announced as a nominee has a few seconds of work video, which is very different from other awards that use stills.

Ronald felt that his neck had stiffened and he seemed to have forgotten to breathe. The entire hall fell into a state of silence at this moment. Thousands of spectators were waiting for Spielberg to announce the result.

Spielberg was very slow to open the envelope and couldn't seem to find where to open the lacquer seal.

Ronald felt as if his blood had left his limbs, and he was so nervous that he couldn't move. Diane noticed something strange about Ronald, and the cold touch on her palm made her very nervous.

But she didn't turn around to see Ronald's condition. Diane's nervous condition was not much better than Ronald's.

Helen, who was sitting in the back, was too nervous to look at her. She had no choice but to grab her father Gerard's hand and hide behind his shoulder. Gerard had no choice but to pat the back of her hand to comfort her.

While everyone was waiting anxiously, Spielberg finally opened the damn paint seal and took out the letterhead with the winner written on it.

"Humph..." Spielberg first satisfied his curiosity, then raised his head, looked down, and spoke:

"Roger..."

"Um??"

All the audience’s minds were filled with questions. Isn’t there any one named Roger among the five nominees? Could it be the Polish director Krzysztof Kesilovski? Krzysztof means in Polish

Roger?

"Your dad just won the Oscar for Best Director, Ronald V. Lee, Forrest Gump!"

"Oh..." Everyone then understood that Spielberg and Ronald were family friends and could joke around with their nephews! Everyone also knew that Ronald's eldest son's name was Roger.

.

"Oh..." When Ronald heard the word Roger, he almost guessed what Spielberg meant. Suddenly, all the blood returned to normal operation, hearing, vision, and other five senses.

It has also returned to normal.

Moreover, Ronald also felt a profound joy that he had never experienced before. His senses seemed to be magnified many times, and the appearance of everyone in the entire hall came into his eyes. Diane's ecstasy,

The happiness of the crew members, and even the look of Helen many rows back, seemed like he had a TV in his head to watch the live broadcast, and whoever wanted to cut to it could see his close-up.

But Ronald still waited until Spielberg officially announced that he had won the award, then he stood up. The first thing he did was to turn around and kiss Diane deeply.

Then he turned back, kissed his mouth with his hand, gestured to the back, and blew a kiss.

Sally Field, Robin Wright, and many crew members who were sitting behind him all thought that Ronald was greeting them, and they all felt that Ronald was really a very gentle and elegant person.

If you can think of yourself, you can control the scene better than Tom Hanks!

Of course, Helen Slater also saw this scene from behind, and her heart was agitated, and tears welled up in her eyes.

Ronald jumped onto the stage and took the trophy from Spielberg. He felt extremely peaceful in his heart.

"I think it is most appropriate that Steven can hand me this great trophy today. My first film work was the directorship I obtained with the help of Steven. It is really amazing...
