Chapter 306: Angry

Not long after he fell asleep, there was a slight noise from the beams. Ruan Wanwan sighed and reluctantly rolled out of bed, knowing that today's affairs were not over yet.

She got up and went to the outer hall. There was a secret guard in black clothes in the room. He was the same person she had sent out to investigate the smallpox poisoning.

Ruan Wanwan knew there was a clue and quickly cheered up.

"To report to the Crown Princess, my subordinates found clues and followed them all the way. Finally, they found the Xiao Mansion. After that, they could no longer investigate. All the clues were interrupted here."

"Xiao Mansion? Xiao Luxi's mother's family?"

Ruan Wanwan was thoughtful. Needless to say, there must be something fishy in this Xiao Mansion, and the mastermind behind the smallpox poisoning had obviously gotten the news and knew that she was pursuing her, so he had been prepared early in the morning and took action before them.

She scratched her head irritably, feeling that things were a bit tricky.

"You continue to investigate, and send a separate person to keep an eye on Xiao Mansion. If there is any situation, report it immediately."

"yes."

The secret guard jumped up and saw a dark shadow flash past quickly. In the blink of an eye, the person had disappeared without even making a sound.

The next morning, the attendant guarding Beiliangye came to report that the prince had woken up. Ruan Wanwan immediately called the only remaining imperial doctor in the palace to come over and diagnose Beiliangye's pulse.

"To report back to the Crown Princess, she said everything was fine yesterday. She will be nursed for a few days and take medicine for a few days, and she will be fine."

Ruan Wanwan breathed a sigh of relief. Finally, something made her happy. After sending the imperial doctor away, she ordered the people below to prepare medicine and brought breakfast to Bei Liangye.

Bei Liangye looked at the room full of people and always felt very uncomfortable.

"It's just a minor illness, why do you want to start such a big fight? You all can get out."

The servants had no choice but to retreat, and soon the prince and Ruan Wanwan were the only two people left in the room.

"You just woke up, you should pay more attention."

Ruan Wanwan gave him some advice and brought him a bowl of hot porridge.

"Those minions are making so much fuss, I'm not sick at all."

While he was eating, Ruan Wanwan told him all the recent events, and of course, the clues that the secret guards found last night.

She originally thought that Beiliangye would help her with the investigation, and even if things went wrong, he would help her arrange manpower and so on. However, Ruan Wanwan waited for a long time, and Beiliangye didn't say anything. There was no expression on his face, making it difficult to guess where he was.

What to think.

After a while, Bei Liangye spoke slowly.

"Don't investigate this matter any further."

Ruan Wanwan was very puzzled: "Why?"

Not to mention that the emperor ordered her to investigate this matter thoroughly. Even without the emperor's imperial edict, Ruan Wanwan still wanted to know who was behind the scenes. In her eyes, this was a huge event, but Bei

Liang Ye said he didn't want her to investigate.

After much thought, she found only one reason.

"Is it because of Xiao Luxi?"

She hoped Beiliangye could give her an explanation, but he didn't mention Xiao Luxi at all.

"I'm afraid this matter is not as simple as you think. It's better not to investigate further to avoid danger."

"That's it?" Ruan Wanwan rolled her eyes at him.

Bei Liangye felt a little baffled by the two words she said. He didn't seem to notice Ruan Wanwan's emotions, and said: "It's such a big deal to use poison to pretend to be smallpox to confuse the public and cause such a large-scale chaos."

, this person is not something you and I can compete with."

Ruan Wanwan stared at him, feeling angry and aggrieved.

He must be afraid that this matter is related to the Xiao Mansion and will implicate Xiao Luxi. Why didn't she see before that Beiliangye was so interested in this Xiao Concubine?

Is it because she came last night?

Without saying a word, Ruan Wanwan got up and went out. The servant at the door saw her angry face, and became anxious again, and hurriedly went in to serve the prince.

Back in her yard, Ruan Wanwan became more and more angry as she thought about it. The maid came in to serve her and poured a cup of tea for her, but she threw it in the corner and smashed it to pieces.

The maid was also puzzled. The princess was fine when she got up in the morning. Why did she go to the prince's place and come back like this? Could it be that she had a quarrel with the prince?

Although Ruan Wanwan was unhappy, she didn't want to make others a slap in the face, so she suppressed her anger and tried to make her voice sound normal.

"I have nothing to serve here, you can go out first."

"yes."

The maid went down, and after a while, the door creaked open again. Ruan Wanwan said angrily: "Didn't I let you go out? Why did you come in again?"

"Sister, it's me."

Ruan Wanwan turned around and saw that it was Jiang Huaiyuan.

Jiang Huaiyuan came in with a plate of snacks and said with a smile: "Would you like some of the snacks that were just made?"

Ruan Wanwan held a soft pillow in her arms and drooped her head: "You can eat it, I have no appetite."

"I see that you have been so busy lately. You must be exhausted. It's normal to have a loss of appetite. However, you should also take care of yourself."

Jiang Huaiyuan could tell at a glance that she was in a bad mood, but she didn't ask any questions and asked her maid to bring freshly made hot milk tea. Ruan Wanwan smelled the sweet smell of the tea and took a few bites.

"It's rare that I have free time today, and the weather is nice. How about we go to the outskirts of Beijing to relax?"

Ruan Wanwan wanted to refuse, saying that she still wanted to take care of Bei Liangye, but then she thought about it, that heartless person was always thinking about Xiao Luxi, why should she work hard without complaining? So she agreed to Jiang Huaiyuan.

The two quickly ordered their servants to prepare their carriages and horses and headed towards the outskirts of Beijing.

"There is a pavilion in the middle of the lake. I have been here once before and the scenery is very good."

Ruan Wanwan opened the curtain and looked outside. As expected, he felt relaxed and happy. However, this place was not as prosperous as the city of Kyoto. There were few buildings, and there was a river nearby, so the wind was much stronger.

The two arrived at their destination quickly and got off the carriage. A gust of cool breeze blew. Ruan Wanwan tightened her collar, and the maid beside her helped her put on her cloak.

Jiang Huaiyuan smiled and said: "After entering the Huxin Pavilion, the wind will be much lighter, but it is already late autumn, so you still have to be careful not to catch the wind and cold."

While talking, the two of them had already entered the pavilion in the middle of the lake. The servants followed the instructions, arranged the curtains, and placed refreshments on the stone table in the pavilion.

Ruan Wanwan took a deep breath. The fragrance of lotus flowers on the lake was refreshing, and she felt that her bad mood was half gone.

"Sister, have a cup of hot bar and go to beat the cold."

Ruan Wanwan took the wine glass from Jiang Huaiyuan and took a sip absentmindedly.

"The weather here is warm, it's already late autumn, and the lotus flowers are still blooming so well."

Jiang Huaiyuan would occasionally talk to her, but Ruan Wanwan had nothing to say, resting her head on her arms and being lost in thought.
