Chapter 111 The identity of the tomb owner
Peng Zu is an extremely famous figure in the history of China. Peng Zu was granted a title in Pengcheng, which is now Dapeng Town, Tongshan District, Jiangsu Province. His descendants will take Guo as their surname. Since Emperor Yao, he has experienced the Xia Dynasty.
, Shang and Zhou. In the Shang Dynasty, he served as the Shou Zangshi, that is, the historian in charge of the skeleton map, and the official worshiped the virtuous doctor. In the Zhou Dynasty, he served as the Zhuxiashi. According to legend, Peng Zu lived a full eight hundred years.
He is the longest living person in China.
Peng Zu had a great influence on history. Confucius highly praised him; Zhuangzi, Xunzi, Lu Buwei and other pre-Qin thinkers all had remarks about Pengzu. "Zhuangzi·Deyi" once regarded him as a representative figure who guides people who cultivate their body.
It is recorded in "Xiaoyaoyou": "In ancient times, there were people with big trees who regarded eight thousand years as spring and eight thousand years as autumn. But Peng Zu has heard about it for a long time now, and everyone is like it. Isn't it sad!"
Qu Yuan's "Songs of Chu·Tianwen" also records: "Peng Keng pours water to the Pheasant Emperor, how can he seek longevity if he has a long life?", which means that he is good at diet therapy, so he has a long life. Wang Yi's annotation is consistent with Hong Xingzu's
The supplementary notes mentioned that he could cook well and the chicken soup he cooked was delicious. After tasting it, Emperor Yao admired it very much and granted Pengcheng to him.
There are also records about him in historical books such as "Historical Records"; Taoists even regard Peng Zu as one of the pioneers and founders, and many Taoist classics preserve Peng Zu's health-preserving treatises.
The "Biography of Immortals" written by Ge Hong, a medical scientist in the Jin Dynasty, also specially wrote a biography for Peng Zu. The king at that time sent someone to seek help from him, but he only said: "I was born posthumously, lost my mother when I was three years old, and was attacked by dogs.
He lived in chaos and wandered in the Western Region for more than a hundred years. In addition, he lost forty-nine wives and fifty-four sons. He suffered several hardships, his kindness was damaged, his honor and glory were withered, and he feared that he would not survive the world. What he heard was superficial and not enough to promote."
In the pre-Qin period, Peng Zu was an immortal in people's minds. In the Western Han Dynasty, Liu Xiang's "The Biography of Immortals" listed Peng Zu in the immortal world and called him an immortal. Peng Zu gradually became a figure in mythology.
Wang Xizhi's "Preface to the Orchid Pavilion Collection": "I know that one death and life is an illusion, and the death of Qi and Peng is an illusion." The "Peng" refers to Peng Zu. In addition, the popular couplet "Su Cai, Guo Fu, Ji Zi"
"Peng Nian" refers to Su Dongpo's talent and learning, Guo Ziyi's blessings, Ji Chang's many children, and Peng Zu's longevity.
Yang Jiong, a native of the Tang Dynasty, wrote in his "Tingju Fu": "I surrendered the order of Emperor Wen, practiced Peng Zu's skills, and preserved my nature and spirit. This is the end of the world." "Taiping Guangji" wrote about him: "He was born posthumously and died at the age of three.
My mother encountered the Quanrong Rebellion and wandered around the Western Regions for more than a hundred years. In addition, she lost forty-nine wives and fifty-four sons, and suffered many hardships and harmed her harmony.
At the same time, folk rumors about Peng Zu are even more miraculous. According to legend, Peng Zu’s actual lifespan was only 60 years old. But Peng Zu was lucky. When he was 59 years old, he made acquaintance with a Yin Zai named Yang San.
A minor official in the underworld. Although he has little power, he can travel back and forth between the Yin and Yang realms. After Peng Zu and Yang San got to know each other, they asked Yang San how long he could live.
When Yang San returned to the underworld, he asked the kid in charge of "Life and Death Book". The kid told Yang San that Peng Zu's life span was only 60 years old, that is, next year, Peng Zu would die. After Peng Zu learned about it, he asked if there was anything he could do.
To add some life span to himself, Yang San took advantage of Peng Zu and bribed the kid who was in charge of the "Book of Life and Death". After the kid took the advantage, he tried to find a way to add Peng Zu's life span.
When it comes to changing characters, it is easy to change one, two, and three, but it is difficult to change these sixty-two characters. When the two little ghosts were worried, the paper twist on the "Book of Life and Death" broke. After discussion, the two little ghosts decided to change the characters.
Peng Zu tore off the piece of paper, twisted it into paper and inserted it into the "Book of Life and Death". After this operation, although Peng Zu's name was on the "Book of Life and Death", he could never find it. That's how Peng Zu was.
Live leisurely and contentedly.
Peng Zu’s life was long, but his wife’s was not. From then on, Peng Zu’s wives came to the underworld one after another. There were dozens of them in total. The King of Hell felt that it was strange, but he could not find the time of Peng Zu’s birth and death, and he could not go there.
The seduction keeps dragging on like this.
When Peng Zu married his forty-seventh wife, the wife saw that Peng Zu had lived for so long, so she wanted to ask Peng Zu to tell her the secret of longevity. She said to Peng Zu: "I love you so much, just tell me the secret."
This way we can stay together forever." Peng Zu couldn't bear his wife's delicate request, so he told his wife the secret. His wife was very depressed after hearing it. Although she knew the secret, she couldn't live a long life.
Later, the King of Hell really felt that Peng Zu's lifespan was strange, so he sent an imp to watch over Peng Zu to see how he lived so long. Peng Zu himself naturally kept silent, so the two imps tried to figure out the secret of Peng Zu's longevity from Peng Zu's wife.
The King of Hell immediately took out the paper twister and ordered the little devil to quickly lure Peng Zu's soul to hell, and Peng Zu died just like that.
Because of this incident, the common people even made up a saying: "Peng Zu lived for eight hundred and eighty years and could not tell the truth to his wife."
Although, there are still a lot of debates about the legend of Peng Zu in the current historical circles. Even Chen Motang and Qian Laomou still have huge doubts about Peng Zu's 800 years old. Therefore, there is another legend in the historical circles.
According to this argument, saying that Peng Zu was 800 years old does not mean that Peng Zu lived for 800 years, but that the Peng Kingdom existed for a total of 800 years.
However, if these arguments are put aside, at least this figure is real in history. Today, Meishan City still preserves Pengzu Cemetery, Pengzu Tomb, Pengzu Temple, Pengzu Immortal Chamber, and there are stone portraits of Pengzu, the longevity star, indoors and outdoors.
The Bagua patterns on display are clearly visible. In addition, Xuzhou City still preserves historical relics such as Pengzu Temple, Pengzu Temple, Pengzu Tower, Pengzu Well, and Pengzu Tomb.
But at this time, looking at the annotation left by Sima Liang, it was obvious that Peng Zu's long life was connected with the Six Heavenly Weapons and longevity. Chen Motang and Qian Laomou didn't know why Sima Liang would put it in the mural.
The tomb painted was identified as the tomb of Peng Zu. However, Sima Liang’s previous identification of the Six Heavenly Weapons and Xu Fu should not have been made out of thin air. Did Peng Zu really live for eight hundred years? With this question, the two of them
He quickly looked at the next mural.
This is the fifth mural. The mural is still divided into upper and lower parts. The upper half of the mural depicts the scene where Xu Fu holds the amber talisman obtained from Peng Zu's tomb and boards the ship, while the lower half of the mural depicts
The well-dressed man who appeared in the fourth mural also looked like he was running hard with the amber talisman in his arms, and behind that man, there were a large number of people chasing him.
Sima Liang's annotation for this mural is: "Xu Fu coveted immortality, and Emperor Qin's guards stole the amber charm!"
Combining the murals and Sima Liang's interpretation, it is obvious that after Xu Fu obtained the amber, he should have discovered that this amber was the key to longevity. In other words, for the Six Chengtian Weapons, the other five items seemed to have nothing to do with longevity.
This can explain why Peng Zu only got this amber charm but lived to be eight hundred years old.
But at the same time, Chen Motang and Qian Laomou also had another doubt in their minds. Judging from this mural alone, why did Sima Liang interpret that Xu Fu coveted the amber talisman, and the Qin Emperor's personal guards stole the amber talisman back?
, instead of Xu Fu preparing to bring the Amber Talisman back to Emperor Qin, Emperor Qin's personal guards coveted the Amber Talisman and stole it.
Obviously, there should be relevant information hidden in the murals behind it.
Sure enough, when the two turned their attention to the sixth mural, they finally understood the basis for Sima Liang's comment on the fifth mural. The mural was still divided into two scenes, the upper and lower scenes. The scene in the upper half was Xu Fucheng.
The ship left, and the expression on his face was one of great panic. The second half of the scene showed the guard kneeling on the ground holding the amber talisman in both hands. In the distance, there was a long car, among which
The largest frame carries a coffin, and diagonally above the motorcade is a slightly illusory portrait of Emperor Qin.
"Xu Fu fled, Emperor Qin died!"
This is the note left by Sima Liang. It clearly shows that after the guards stole the amber talisman, Xu Fu knew that if Emperor Qin knew about it, what kind of terrible ending would be waiting for him. Therefore, he immediately
Leading the fleet to flee wildly.
But when the guard who stole the Amber Talisman returned to the capital of Qin, he did not expect that Emperor Qin had already passed away. This emperor who unified the six kingdoms, this emperor who hoped to use the Six Heavenly Weapons, had passed away.
The emperor who gained immortality finally did not wait for this day.
Looking at this mural, for some reason, Chen Mutang and Qian Laomou couldn't help but feel a touch of sadness in their hearts. This may be the case many times in the world, either they don't get what they ask for, or they just pass by.
Finally, we arrived at the last mural. There was only one scene in the entire mural, and there was only one solitary character, which was the guard who appeared in the fourth, fifth and sixth murals. The man stood alone in the mountains.
Ding Ding looked into the distance, still holding the amber charm he stole from Xu Fu in his arms.
I don’t know if he was lamenting that this personal guard had experienced a similar situation to his own. Although there were only a few strokes, Sima Liang seemed to have drawn this personal guard to life, with infinite loneliness and sadness in his eyes.
.
In the lower right corner of this mural, there is a picture of a bird with outstretched wings guarding a moon. A coffin is depicted between the wings and the moon.
There is no annotation by Sima Liang on the edge of this seventh mural, but both Chen Motang and Qian Laomou already understood that the ancient tomb where Sima Liang saw the mural before was also the Golden Crow Holding the Moon that they were looking for on this trip.
The place turned out to be the tomb of the guard who stole the amber talisman from Xu Fu.
