Chapter One(1/2)

As soon as the bell rang, He Wan grabbed her schoolbag and ran, leaving the teacher's "get out of class is over" behind. After running through three intersections, turning right, the huge signboard of He Ji Rice Noodle Shop appeared in front of her.

"Mom, I'm back." As soon as He Wan stepped into the store, he ran into a wall. When he raised his head, he met his adoptive mother's gaze. Kong Ling was looking at her with wide eyes, with faint anger in her eyes.

Before He Wan could react, Kong Ling pushed He Wan away and yelled at her. "Why are you so anxious? You don't have eyes? Go to the kitchen at the back and get some pork elbows for table No. 3."

As soon as she finished speaking, the guest at table No. 4 called Kong Ling over to order. She glared at He Wan, turned around and immediately changed her face to a smile. "Oh, what kind of wind brought you here today, Brother Li. Come on.

Come on, what do you want to order? Our sauced elbows have just been braised and are fresh! Do you want some?"

He Wan was pushed and staggered, barely holding on to the table to stand still. Kong Ling was still chatting with the guests at table 4, and did not intend to say a word to her again. He Wan bit her lip and walked to the kitchen, familiar with the journey.

Take out the elbow, cut it, and carefully bring it to table three.

"Your sauce elbow."

Table No. 3 is a regular customer of the store. He is a middle-aged man in his thirties who is very rogue. The food remains on the table show that he has been in the store for some time. He Wan asked him if he wanted to clean it up and received an unnecessary reply.

In the end, she didn't want to talk to him anymore, so she put down her elbow and left.

Who knew that the man grabbed He Wan's hand and said teasingly: "My elbow? My hands are so beautiful, why are they called elbows? Don't even think about leaving until I explain clearly."

He Wan glanced at the wine on his table and felt something bad for a moment. There were four or five beer bottles on the table, and there were several bottles dumped crookedly at his feet. The strength in her wrist only increased, and she stood still.

He stayed in place, staring into the man's eyes. "That's not what I meant, please let go."

Seeing her resistance, the middle-aged man thought it was really interesting. He narrowed his eyes with a smile. The slightly bulging eyeballs did not have any kind feeling at all, but exuded an aura of vulgarity. "Hey, hey, he's still angry. Sister Kong, look.

Look at your daughter, you are staring at me!" The man turned to Kong Ling and said.

Kong Ling was passing by with a few bottles of beer. She was a little clumsy as she avoided the table, and the flesh on her face trembled. She looked over at the man and saw a teasing look on his face, knowing that he was having fun.

Xin. She glanced at He Wan and spoke for her. "This girl's temper is getting louder and louder. You'd better not tease her. I won't care if she beats you up later."

After hearing this, the man knew that Kong Ling still cared about her daughter, so he raised his eyebrows and relaxed. He Wan forcefully broke away from his hand and ran to stand behind the cashier, throwing the man off balance.

The man was pushed and slapped his hand into his plate of peanuts. The peanuts exploded and ran out of the plate in an instant. The man originally wanted to let her go, but when she pushed him, his anger surged to the top of his head. He endured it.

Angry, he made a joke pretending to be relieved. "Your daughter is really clueless and can't even speak a few words. It's boring." After complaining, he started to eat by himself. Everything seemed very peaceful.

The new guest ordered three portions of beef noodles, and He Wan was walking carefully carrying the three portions of beef noodles for fear of spilling the soup. The man happened to finish drinking the soup and looked up and saw He Wan holding the tray and walking cautiously. He

The corner of his mouth curled up, his eyes rolled around, and when He Wan passed by him, he reached out and patted her waist.

"Ah!" He Wan was startled by the sudden touch. His hands shook and all three bowls of beef noodles fell to the ground. The sound of bowls and chopsticks falling to the ground was mixed with the guests' exclamations.

When Kong Ling heard the noise, she hurriedly ran out of the kitchen and saw a mess on the floor. Without thinking, she slapped He Wan on the head who was standing there. "You've been here every day.

What are you doing! I just told you to be careful, but you think what I said is nonsense! Why don’t you go and clean it up!"

Not me! He Wan shouted to Kong Ling in her heart. But in reality, she couldn't say anything. She just felt a burning pain in her head and her throat seemed to be stuffed with cotton. She held back tears and pointed.

The man at table three opened his mouth to speak, and his voice was particularly hoarse. "It's not me. He suddenly touched me just now, and I was shocked."

The man at table No. 3 quickly distanced himself from the relationship and pretended to be innocent by twirling the peanuts on the plate with his chopsticks. "You are not careful, so don't frame me. I was a little irritable when I talked to you before. If you hold a grudge, I want to take revenge."

Do you want to find a smarter way? I just had a good meal and didn't meet anyone."

Kong Ling was furious. She listened to the man's nonsense again and became even more irritable. She couldn't listen to anyone else's words. She walked straight past He Wan and ordered her to clean the floor. "Stop talking, I don't want to hear it either."

, clean the floor so that guests don’t step on it.”

Guests! Guests! The most important thing is always the guest! Then who is she? One complaint after another popped up in He Wan's mind. Her eyes suddenly became hazy, and all the big tears fell on the ground and disappeared.

. She ran to the front desk, grabbed her schoolbag, knocked Kong Ling away, and ran into the crowd. She let Kong Ling threaten her loudly behind her, "If you leave, don't come back." She didn't even look back.

.

He Wan was adopted by Kong Ling when she was very young. She was so young that she could not remember what her parents looked like. She only vaguely remembered that her mother had long hair, which was very different from her adoptive mother's short hair. Kong Ling had never

She didn't tell her anything about her parents. She only told He Wan clearly that she was adopted by her.

The shadow of the long curly hair lingered in He Wan's mind. She thought about her parents, and then thought about the way Kong Ling completely ignored her feelings and didn't listen to her own explanation just now. Tears fell again uncontrollably.

As she was walking, she suddenly stopped, turned around and ran towards the Fuhua River.

There had just been a heavy rain in W City, and the river was turbulent. A few days ago, the water level of the Fuhua River had exceeded the warning line, and the river was filled with turbid yellow mud.

He Wan walked down the stone steps on the bridge step by step. With each step, the pain increased. Pessimism is a vicious circle. The more you want to escape, the more entangled you are with it. The more He Wan thinks about it, the more painful it becomes. His mind is like

As if it was going to explode, she murmured. "That's it, no one in this world cares about me."

Just when He Wan was about to walk to the river, a familiar figure was leaning on the guardrail of the river and smoking. Xu Yuanning was leaning on the guardrail, his fair skin showing a little rosy, and the corners of his mouth kept rising.

She didn't know what he was thinking. She stared at him for a while, looking straight in his direction, and happened to meet his questioning gaze, "He Wan?"

He Wan couldn't go up or down at this time. She stood there for a long time before deciding to go down the stone steps. She unexpectedly met Xu Yuanning at this time. She didn't know what to do, so she had to say hello to him.

"Xu Yuanning, what are you doing here?"

Xu Yuanning raised his eyebrows at her, but did not answer her question. Instead, he stared at her swollen eyes with interest for a while. "Did Fatty Kong Ling scold you again?"

He Wan turned her head away from him and said "Yeah" in a muffled voice, thus answering his question.

"Then you ran out crying? Are you too cowardly? Thank you for not beating her up before running out." Xu Yuanning joked. "But she is so fat, you should only be beaten."

He Wan was a little amused by his words, and the corners of his mouth could not help but raise.

Xu Yuanning glanced at the expression on He Wan's face with his peripheral vision. He didn't look as sad as before, so he put out the cigarette in his hand. "Come on, call Brother Yuanning, and I will take you to eat something delicious."

"

After He Wan heard what he said, he couldn't help but pouted at him. "You are only three days older than me, and you have the nerve to let me scream."

Xu Yuanning stretched out his hand and pinched her face, "I was still very coaxable when I was a kid. I would bark when I was given a candy. Now I don't even bark when I want to treat you to a meal. But you still have the responsibility to call me brother or not, and I still have to buy you food."

"

He casually picked up He Wan's hand, held it, and pulled her onto the road. He Wan exclaimed, and her ears quickly turned red. She looked up at Xu Yuanning, and found that he looked at ease, not feeling the slightest concern about holding her hand.

Something was wrong. But He Wan was weak, so no matter how hard she struggled, she couldn't break free from his hand.

Xu Yuanning took her to the milk tea shop with ease, ordered her favorite vanilla ice cream, and habitually helped her take apart the spoon and put it in the ice cream. When He Wan brought the ice cream to his mouth, he asked why

I completely forgot about running away.

Xu Yuanning half raised his face, his eyes showed tenderness, and he teased her leisurely. "Eat slowly, be careful not to freeze your tongue. Tell me if my brother is good to you. I only have ten yuan to buy everything for you."

Ice cream."

He Wan bit her spoon and nodded perfunctorily, answering hesitantly. Xu Yuanning was like her friend and a relative who shared the joys and sorrows. She looked a little erratic because of the small fluctuation in her heart just now.

In He Wan's memory, Xu Yuanning was as indispensable as his adoptive mother. He and she lived on the same street, and they had shared weal and woe since they were young. When he was forced to stand at the door by his father, he secretly brought him food.

He helped him look out for the wind while urging him to eat quickly. He could always appear when she was downhearted. In the past, it was sometimes a candy, but now it is an ice cream. He has never been absent from her life.

He Wan ate while thinking about her childhood. After a while, the ice cream bottomed out. She ate in a hurry and felt a little uncomfortable in her stomach, but she kept it to herself and didn't show it.

From Xu Yuanning's perspective, she had a dull look on her face, and her mouth pouted slightly. He couldn't help but reach out and pat her forehead, trying to bring her back to the real world with his hands. "Don't be in a daze, go back after eating."

"

He Wan raised her hand and rubbed her forehead, pulled out the chair and stood up to leave. When she thought of going back, she couldn't help but lower her head and feel dejected. She sighed almost inaudibly from her chest. Xu Yuanning saw her dejected.

He grabbed her shoulders. He Wan bumped into his chest and struggled to distance herself from him. The tip of her nose was filled with the fresh smell of his body. She didn't even dare to look up at him, her heart was pounding.

Unknown things hit and thumped loudly.

The elderly and aunties walking by the river looked at them with curious eyes, but Xu Yuanning pretended not to notice and walked through them calmly.

"Kid He Wan, you have to go back now. Don't be angry with your future. You still have to rely on her now." Xu Yuanning patted her shoulder. After a rational and objective analysis, although he could understand it, he did not support He Wan.

Wan was so angry that he ran out alone.

Of course He Wan understood the stakes, but she lost control of her emotions and wanted to give up on herself. But she hadn't gone to college yet, hadn't made a lot of money, hadn't seen her biological parents yet... She still had many things to do.

If she does, she has to go back and admit her mistake to her adoptive mother. "Thank you, Xu Yuanning. If I become rich in the future, I will never forget you!"

Xu Yuanning looked at her with a cowardly expression, then he pinched her face and fucked her. "Very good, this is He Wan."

He Wan listened to his praise with a look of benefit.

"Hey! Xu Yuanning~" He Wan suddenly heard a sticky female voice behind him. Xu Yuanning let go of his hand on her shoulders, raised his hand and greeted her, "Xiao Yuan'er~". He Wan turned his head

At first glance, the girl walking towards me was wearing a short skirt, with slender legs, light makeup on her face, and her movements were delicate and charming in a way that she was not.

Xu Yuanning took a few steps forward, and the girl plunged into his arms. He lowered his head and kissed the girl on the forehead, smiling wildly. "Come on, He Wan. Call me sister-in-law."

He Wan's heart twitched, and she felt a little dull. But her face remained calm, "What sister-in-law, maybe she is younger than me."

Xu Yuanning nodded, lowered his head and said something to the girl in his arms. He Wan didn't want to continue reading, so he turned around and said, "I'm leaving first."

Xu Yuanning waved to her, and He Wan strode forward. The buildings on the road all looked familiar, but this was the first time He Wan felt this feeling. She hammered her chest, trying to get rid of this feeling.

Emotions that do not belong to her are driven away.

He Wan was pretending to be worried, so he walked very slowly. When he returned to the store, the street lights were all on. The store door was ajar, and some warm yellow lights shone through, as if to tell He Wan: Kong Ling knew she would

return.

He Wan opened the door and walked up to the second floor. Kong Ling was sitting at the dining table eating. "Mom, I'm back."

Kong Ling didn't even raise her head when she heard He Wan's voice, and took another mouthful of rice into her mouth. "Kneel down by the wall, think about what you did today, and reflect on it."

He Wan walked straight to the wall and knelt upright. She didn't know why she was kneeling, and she didn't know what she wanted to reflect on, but everything Kong Ling said was right. She had to kneel.
