Chapter 25 Betrayal

On the outskirts of Xindu, unlike the bustling urban area, there are still many old houses left here.

Along the slightly sloping ramp, there are intertwined old neighborhoods on both sides, and not far away there is a high platform overlooking the sea. The higher you go up the ramp, the fewer buildings there are. At the end, a foreign cemetery built on the slope of the hill comes into view.

eye.

There, there is the shadow of a building.

This is a very luxurious church, and all the high platforms on the hillside are occupied by the church.

After climbing up the hillside, you will see a large square. Although the church behind it is not that big, it towers over visitors.

As the base of the Holy Church in Fuyuki, the architectural style must at least reflect the majesty of the church.

Inside the church, there are only two people in the bright and spacious lobby. One of them is Bazett, who had just agreed to join forces with Du En in the morning.

"Kirei, long time no see."

Bazett, who had remained calm even after making an agreement with Duen, unconsciously relaxed here.

"Um, Bazett? Long time no see."

Walking out from the inside of the altar, wearing a black undershirt, a silver cross hanging around his neck, and a dark purple windbreaker, a tall middle-aged priest appeared in front of Bazett.

The priest's name is Kotomine Kirei. He is the chief priest of the church, the administrator of the Holy Church in Fuyuki, and the supervisor of this Holy Grail War.

"Are you here to report? I've already heard that the person summoned is a Lancer."

Looking at Bazett with calm eyes, Kotomine Kirei said in a calm tone: "There are three servants summoned now, your lancer, Einzbern's berserker, and as for the summoned caster,

He is a magician from the Middle East."

"The magician from the Middle East? Has he arrived in Fuyuki?" Bazett asked.

"That's right." Kotomine Kirei nodded, "But I can't tell you the specific location. Although I was the one who recommended you to the Magic Association, unfortunately, I can't provide you with more help.

"

"After all, I am now the supervisor of the Holy Grail War."

Kotomine Kirei looked at Bazett and said with a regretful tone.

Almost every Holy Grail War, the Magic Association would send a magician to participate, and this time, Kotomine Kirei recommended Bazett to the Magic Association.

So after some consideration, the association decided to send Bazett, who had a "good relationship" with Kotomine Kirei, to participate in this Holy Grail War.

"Kirei, you don't have to worry about this kind of thing, you just need to fulfill your responsibilities."

What is a bit incredible is that Bazett shook his head and started to excuse Kotomine Kirei.

"You recommend me to the association, which is a sign of trust in me. As long as you know this, it is enough."

"Trust?"

However, after hearing Bazett's words, an elusive smile appeared on Kotomine Kirei's face, but this smile only appeared for a moment and then disappeared, and Bazett didn't pay attention at all.

The conversation changed and Kotomine Kirei suddenly asked.

"By the way, I heard that you had a conflict with the Einzbern family master. The place was in Germany?"

"Um."

After hearing Kotomine Kirei's question, Bazett did not hide anything and told the information about his battle with Dun.

"Obviously he is a berserker, but he has reason. There may be some kind of madness hidden under the calm surface, but apart from this, he is still an easy guy to get along with."

Recalling the scene when he and Duen were fighting, and remembering that he and Cu Chulainn could not defeat each other even if they worked together, Bazett shook his head.

Now that we have decided to cooperate, let's put the fight at the end.

"The heart was penetrated and he survived, and he has the ability to recover all injuries in an instant. This should be a kind of Noble Phantasm, but based on this alone, there is no way to determine the other party's true name."

However, since there is mental paranoia and the bow is still held, the scope can be narrowed to some extent.

"Without more information, there is no point in continuing to think about it. That's it for today. I'll go back first."

Shaking his head, Bazett stood up and prepared to leave.

"Speaking of which, I haven't seen your servant. Has he turned into a spirit child?"

Kotomine Kirei seemed to have said this accidentally, but Bazett didn't pay attention.

She shook her head.

"I asked him to go out for reconnaissance. He is just good at this kind of thing."

"Reconnaissance? It is not good for a servant to be too far away from the master."

Bazett didn't notice that Kotomine Kirei's smile became a little weird. After hearing these words, it seemed as if something worthy of joy was about to happen.

"It doesn't matter, you shouldn't encounter any danger in Kirei."

Although they belong to different organizations, the two have partnered many times during missions in the past.

In Bazett's view, Kotomine Kirei is mature, steady, and strong, and is a trustworthy friend.

However, just as Bazett turned around and faced Kotomine Kirei with his back, the weird smile from before appeared on Kotomine Kirei's face again.

"This is inconsistent with your usual vigilance, Bazett."

With a pop, as Kotomine Kirei's voice fell, the black thin sword instantly cut off the wrist of Bazett's left hand that had the Command Seal engraved on it.

"Qi..."

Looking at his severed wrist, Bazett looked at Kotomine Kirei with disbelief, but what greeted her was a cheerful smile on his face.

At this time, Bazett realized that he had never really understood the man in front of him from beginning to end.

"Word Peak"

"Kirei!!!"

Bazett's angry shouts rang out in the holy church, but Kotomine Kirei did not give her a chance to activate her magic.

I forgot to mention that Kotomine Kirei is not only the supervisor appointed by the Holy Church Church, but also the agent under the Holy Church Church.

Using a human body to replace the divine judgment, just like the executor of the Magic Association, the agent is a member of the violent organization affiliated to the Templar Church.

If Kotomine Kirei's physical fitness hadn't been weakened for some reason, he would not have lost to Bazett ten years ago, even if he didn't use sneak attacks.

It hit Bazett's abdomen with enough force to tear his internal organs instantly. Blood poured out of Bazett's mouth. As if he had lost all his strength, Bazett fell to the ground helplessly.

Severe pain came from his wrist, but Bazett seemed unaware of it.

"Why?"

She struggled to raise her head and looked at the priest in front of her.

"Tell me, Kirei, why?"

The holy temple was stained with her blood, but the priest didn't care at all.

Hearing Bazett's cry, Kotomine Kirei just smiled and picked up Bazett's severed wrist.

Seeing the Command Seal on his wrist being transplanted into his own hand by Kotomine Kirei, Bazett finally understood.

From the beginning, Kotomine Kirei just wanted to use him and her trust to get the Lancer.

The heavy bleeding from his wrist, coupled with the pain of betrayal, finally crushed Bazett's last nerve.

The moment her consciousness disappeared, a voice sounded in her ears.

"You actually allowed me to see such a scene as soon as I came back. Kirei, you are very courageous!"

Einzbern was in Fuyuki's stronghold, a majestic castle. As if he noticed something, Dun suddenly raised his head.

Broken fragments flashed before his eyes, and some forgotten memories finally emerged in his mind.

"Really, why did I forget that?"
