silent fear

I've never been up late at night before. I don't know what happened tonight. Maybe I drank too much water before going to bed, and I was woken up by the urge to urinate around three o'clock in the evening.

After coming out of the bathroom, I felt something was wrong. I turned to look at the living room, and there was a bright light coming from the peephole on the living room door. There might be someone in the corridor, so I didn’t think much about it. I turned off the bedroom light, turned around and thought: No, there’s someone in the stairs.

It's a sensor light. There is no sound at all outside the toilet. This is a 12-story building with only two households on each floor. The opposite is a rough house with no water or electricity and no one can live in it. Everyone takes the elevator to go up and downstairs.

And it's already midnight, so how come the lights outside are on? Thinking of this, my hair suddenly stood up, and the chill spread all over my body from the soles of my feet.

The old saying is true, curiosity killed the cat. It may be nothing, but curiosity made me stand up involuntarily, turned on the flashlight function of my phone, got off the bed with my bare feet, and poked my head out of the bedroom, the faint light shining through the cat's eyes

It looked particularly dazzling. Although I wanted to go back to sleep, the cat's eyes had a kind of magic that tempted me to go and find out.

I don’t know how long it took, but I finally took the first step, and then the second step. When I passed the coffee table, I held the fruit knife in my hand. Although I knew it was useless, I felt a little comforted.

It usually only takes five seconds to go from the bedroom to the security door in the living room, but today it felt like five hours of walking. I turned off the light on my mobile phone, looked at the peephole, and faced the bright light. There was a man in a black suit on his back outside.

Facing the security door where I was, he had black hair shawl, wore a pair of black gloves on his left hand, held a black umbrella, and put his right hand in his trouser pocket. Judging from his body shape, he should be a man.

"There is a kind of love called letting go..." I was so desperate that my phone rang suddenly. I didn't have time to see who it was, so I hung up. The other party seemed to hear the ringtone of the phone. The moment the other party turned around, I squatted down subconsciously.

.Then I thought: No! Could he still be able to see inside from the outside of the peephole? So I stood up again and looked outside the peephole. It was pitch black and I couldn't see anything. Could it be that there was a power outage? It was really strange.
