Chapter Nine

"Hey, I'm talking to you!"

As Chen Ke thought, time passed by for only a moment. Ignoring the ferocious ghost general that was approaching and exuding a gloomy aura, Chen Ke stretched out his hand and said lightly: "Noisy."

With a finger, a strong wind blew up, and the bull's head flew out like a piece of paper, spinning in the air and falling upside down into the soft soil. The giant ax flew into its side, almost cutting off the bullwhip.

After the "obstacles" were cleared, Chen Ke looked around and suddenly realized: "So this is it!"

Adjacent to the Naihe Bridge, the Bloody Realm of Bitterness, and the Forgotten River flowing quietly by the city's edge are a city - the City of Wasted Death.

In these three realms, people, gods, and demons all know whose territory this is. On the surface, the manager of the City of Death is King Bian Cheng, the sixth palace of the Ten Palaces of Yama. But in fact, the person who controls this place is

Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva who "is as patient as the earth and meditates deeply as Ksitigarbha"!

Chen Ke was quite surprised and surprised when he first read the Buddhist scriptures and read the big vow: "Until hell is empty, I will never become a Buddha."

It happened that the Paradise City experiment came to an end at that time, and Broken Bones became an alternative myth. Chen Ke speculated in his mind, and was curious about whose oath was more grandiose than the oath of Broken Bones and the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva?

The answer is obvious. Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva is greater. His spirit of self-sacrifice perfectly fits the Mahayana Buddhism that saves all sentient beings. He has the fearlessness to cut meat to feed eagles and sacrifice his body to feed tigers. He is a wise and enlightened person!

——The premise is that this must be true.

Obviously our Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva has not taken action. He talks about saving all sentient beings from the sea of suffering, but in fact he has built a city of futile death by the Naihe Bridge to compete for business with the underworld. He abandons the appearance to look at the essence. This is actually

It's a pyramid scheme that violates discipline.

In Chen Ke's view, what the Buddhas in Lingshan planned was exactly what they needed most - the power of vows. For this reason, they did not hesitate to send Ksitigarbha, one of the four great Bodhisattvas, to compete with Heaven for territory.

It is recorded in "Yinfu Jing·Jedi Tiantong" that when a person who has died in vain enters the city, he cannot leave until the end of his Yang life. During this period, he can go to the city to wait and see whether the person who murdered him has received retribution, but his body will be severely punished.

Controlled, one cannot receive ghost paper and paper offerings burned to the dead souls by relatives and friends in the Yang world, nor can one return to the Yang world to accept offerings from relatives in the Yang world during the Ghost Festival like other dead souls. All money and items burned to these dead souls will be temporarily

They were kept with Venerable Mu Lian, who assisted Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, until these dead souls saw with their own eyes that those who murdered him received their due retribution, and their resentment was relieved.

"This city of futile death is indeed worth a closer look."

Chen Ke entered from the main gate. The bull's head guarding the gate was still half-embedded in the soil. The curious residents peered out. Chen Ke walked over and spread out in a wide circle backwards in fear.

The whole city is booming in popularity, and the faces of passers-by are glowing red everywhere you look, which is no different from what you have seen before.

"Amitabha."

A handsome little monk in simple blue robes, kind-faced and kind-hearted eyes stood beside Chen Ke, "Donor, what do you think of this city?"

Chen Ke touched his hands and exclaimed: "Not bad, not bad, it can be called bliss!"

In this world, there are only a few people in the entire underworld who can appear beside Chen Ke silently without being noticed.

The meeting between an extraterrestrial demon and one of the four great Bodhisattvas of Lingshan took place quietly among the crowds of people in the City of Wishi.

The two did not fight, but instead had a conversation. After a brief greeting, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva humbly and piously said: "Amitabha, only on the Lingshan Mountain and next to the Buddha can it be called the Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss."

Chen Ke said with a smile: "No, no, no. Sitting on a city in this underworld, looking down at all living beings, wouldn't it be happier than being a stone sculpture on Lingshan Mountain?"

The little monk transformed by Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva lowered his eyebrows and said, "Donor Miao Lun, what use does money and power have to monks like us? They are just external possessions, a handful of dung."

"A handful of dung? Then why do these people who died in vain still work in the city as they did before they were alive?"

"If the four limbs are not diligent and the five grains are not separated, what is the difference between a useless person?"

Chen Ke laughed loudly and pointed at Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva who was out of breath. "Then the bunch of monks supported by your Lingshan Mountain eat fast and chant Buddha all day without thinking about working. How are they different from waste?"

Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva was not angry even though he was like this. His Qi-nurturing skills were really amazing. He recited the sutra in a low voice and just said: "The donor is very prejudiced against me as a Buddhist."

In the city of Wusi, people come and go, but no one can notice Ksitigarbha and Chen Ke inside. The two of them are separated from the world. What can those numb and ignorant ghosts understand?

"No, it's not that I'm biased against Buddhism, but you've been talking nonsense about Buddhism for so long that you've even fooled yourself!" Chen Ke sneered and walked forward without arguing with Ksitigarbha.

The monk followed him step by step.

What seems to be a weird and bizarre scene is actually a test by both parties. Chen Ke is afraid of the supreme power of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, and Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva cannot be counted on to be the heel of Chen Ke, an extraterrestrial demon.

Among the masters, the battle between Qi and God is extremely fierce. The defensive momentum is perfect and the attack is leaked. At their level, if there are no flaws, the person who strikes first will be more likely to be defeated!

"Bodhisattva, there are places in the underworld for people who die in vain, so why do you still build this city of unnecessary death?"

"Whenever you do good, don't ask why."

Chen Ke saw an old beggar with dull eyes and a foul odor in the City of Death. He was about to ridicule Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva for being hypocritical and criticizing the suffering of all sentient beings, but he immediately thought of the self-justifying logic of Buddhism that confuses right and wrong. I'm afraid this kind of

The words didn't hurt at all, so I changed my mind and changed my words.

"Bodhisattva, they all say that the Buddha saves all sentient beings and no one can compare with him. Why don't we compare how we saved the beggar?"

Ksitigarbha smiled and acquiesced.

The two walked forward and stood in front of the beggar. The beggar noticed that someone was looking at him and raised his bowl numbly. He did not notice the strangeness of the two people in front of him. In his eyes, the mountain was not a mountain and the water was not water.

People are not like humans, they are just objects that keep walking.

Chen Ke said: "Beggar, why are you here, and why are you sad?"

The beggar said: "Oh, I was a useless person when I was alive. I listened to the villain's slander and owed interest to the owner of the village. I was beaten to death, my property was sold off, my wife and children were humiliated, and my old mother was filled with grief and anger.

I came here after my death, and I can hear the cry of my old mother every day and every night. My family is suffering! But I can only do nothing here!"

Chen Ke: "Didn't Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva allow you to climb the city wall to see if your enemies have suffered retribution?"

It would have been better not to say this, but as soon as he said this, the beggar's eyes changed. They were red and fierce, and he gritted his teeth. He roared with great resentment: "Ksitigarbha! Damn Ksitigarbha! He!"

They lied to me and said that they would uphold justice for us, saying that good and evil in this world are rewarded! However, I am trapped here, without any reward every day and night, working painfully like an animal, dragging my tired body and standing on the city wall, seeing

My enemy is alive and well, so happy and free!"

"How long does he have to die? How long does he have to live! Ksitigarbha, why didn't you tell me? Where were you when my family was in pain, Buddha, Buddha! Fuck Buddha!" the beggar roared hysterically.

, who can know the anger in his heart, death is like a lamp going out, and he can see through many things, but only this injustice, this comparison, pierced his heart like a sharp needle.

Chen Kezhi looked at Ksitigarbha with a narrow smile. The young monk walked forward without saying a word, stood beside the beggar and muttered something, and then slapped the beggar on the temple of heaven.

The light of Buddha suddenly appeared.

The beggar's angry expression immediately became peaceful and peaceful, as if he was an eminent monk who had seen through the world of mortals.

Chen Ke's body was trembling and he was holding back his laughter. It was very hard to suppress his laughter.

"Bodhisattva, what are you doing?"

"Amitabha, I am merciful. This benefactor has great obsessions and is afraid that he will become a demon, so I have to save him myself." Ksitigarbha put his hands together, showing compassion for heaven and earth, and his serious expression was very convincing.

Chen Ke knew that if he dared to say another word, Ksitigarbha Ksitigarbha would immediately point the finger at him and attack him brazenly on the pretext of extraterrestrial demons bewitching mortals!
