Chapter 25 Crowmouth Chandler

Chandler took out a piece of paper from his arms.

"Mr. Lockerbie was severely frightened and his son was dying, so he wrote a list of everyone he could remember."

"Apollo, Hermes, Cupid, Hoffman, Poseidon..."

"Oh my God, my child!"

"My poor husband!"

Each name represents a famous person in the town.

Most of them have spent more time sleeping in pubs and on the streets in recent months than at home.

People kept crying loudly when they heard the names of their relatives.

"No, damn it, I've already told you that if he spends time in the pub every day, he will definitely not end well!"

Director Chandler was like a special envoy sent to the town by the god of death, reading out the names of the victims in the tavern one by one.

It seemed that those people died because of him pronouncing those names!

Whenever a name came out of his mouth, the relatives of that name would look at him with despairing eyes.

It's not like no one wanted to rush up and cover his mouth.

It was only because of the police detectives standing beside him and the short sticks they carried that he didn't take action.

From that day on, Chandler had another nickname, Crow Mouth Chandler.

Chandler later often talked about that incident with others and regretted pronouncing those names one by one.

It was all because of the thick wad of banknotes that Lockerbie stuffed into his arms. Those dirty pieces of paper made him completely lose his mind.

In fact, when he was holding those banknotes in his arms, he wished that the same thing happened in the tavern every month.

After Director Chandler read out the list of names, he said to the townspeople: "You have to believe in me and the police department. They will soon investigate this matter clearly and bring the murderer to justice."

There were crying and noisy people below, and no one had time to pay attention to him for the time being.

Chandler winked at the police detectives around him, and they quietly slipped out of the crowd.

According to Lockerbie's previous instructions, he must escape as soon as possible.

If he stays any longer, not only will he be implicated, but it will also delay what he has to do next.

Johnny said to Butler Bear: "Why haven't you seen any of those majestic Royal Guards?"

"Those young masters said that if the Royal Guards were to follow them, the hunt would be very boring."

"But they all have distinguished status, so this would be a bit irresponsible."

Butler Bear shrugged: "They said I would either take them hunting or take the Royal Guards out hunting. What can I do?"

"Moreover, Lord Baron assured Lord Barrett that the servants of our castle are more familiar with the terrain, so they are better suited to protect them than the guards."

"Before we set off next time, it's better to let Johnny Knight convince these young masters," Xie Sheng said nonchalantly.

Johnny "······"

Naturally, he didn't really care about the comfort of these young masters. He wanted to find out what he wanted to know by making insinuations.

Johnny glared at the talkative Xie Sheng, "This idiot doesn't know anything, but he can really cause trouble!"

Under the deliberate instigation of some thoughtful people, hundreds of family members and hundreds of onlookers rushed to the tavern.

As many as a hundred people were crammed into the small tavern.

Others can only squeeze out a small gap in the window or door and try to look inside.

Seeing the tavern full of body parts, many women and a few timid men collapsed on the spot.

Those who are bolder don't care what is present or not; they carefully identify the parts of their loved ones among the broken pieces.

Most of the fragments are difficult to identify their owners.

But it's easy to identify one's relatives by things like heads or specially marked arms and thighs.

As one victim after another was identified by their relatives and friends, screams of exclamation continued to sound among the drunkards.

Suddenly there was the sound of a human body falling in the tavern, and two old men fainted and died on the spot.

This is an old couple who found multiple children and grandchildren dead in a pub.

"Let's go to Lockerbie and ask him what's going on!"

Someone shouted, and many people immediately followed him and rushed to the backyard of the tavern.

People rushed into the backyard of the tavern, and the doors were kicked open.

I quickly found the room where Lockerbie was. Lockerbie was sitting in front of his unconscious son's bed with a look of grief on his face.

The angry people dragged Locke to the yard.

"You damn pub in Lockerbie, tell us how they died."

"How do I know? I went out for a while and the pub became like this. My son has been unconscious and I don't know if he will wake up!"

"If you don't give us an explanation today, we will burn down your tavern and throw you and your son in."

"By the way, burn down the tavern and burn them together."

Some people are already looking for tinder and oil barrels.

"Listen to me, everyone, I am just a poor businessman and a helpless foreigner.

Almost all of them have been on the battlefield and killed people. How could I offend them?

These people gather here every day to insult His Majesty the Emperor and the Baron. I often risk being beaten and scolded to persuade them.

But how could they listen to me, a bad old man? I know that if this continues, something will happen sooner or later!"

"Yes, they insult the emperor and the barons here every day, and say that sooner or later they will kill the nobles with guns and rob them of their belongings."

"Do you think the baron sent someone to do it?"

"They just drank too much and talked nonsense. Can the Baron take it seriously? He is a gentleman!"

"That's not necessarily true. They often fight with the servants in the castle. Maybe those servants did it!"

"Let's ask the baron. Nobles will not lie."

"Who says nobles can't lie? All nobles are liars!"

"This won't solve the problem tomorrow. Let's go to the castle!"

"Yes, just ask the baron why he sent people to kill them."

"Let's go to the castle together!"

The three of them, Candy, Poison, and No Ice, mingled with the crowd and spoke a few words at critical moments, cleverly guiding these people's thoughts.

The town of Xiaoqiao fell into riots, and the angry crowd grabbed the "reluctant" tavern owner Lockerbie.

Behind them were hundreds of family members of the victims, as well as hundreds of townspeople watching the fun.

The group of people walked towards Huntingdon Castle noisily.

When passing a side road, three guys with headscarves wrapped slipped out of the crowd.

Looking at the townspeople walking away, they took off their headscarves and saw the three of them: Candy, Poison, and No Ice.

They looked at the backs of the townspeople with satisfaction and turned into the side road.

There are still many people in the town who are willing to believe that the baron has nothing to do with this matter.

Someone ran to the police station and wanted Director Chandler to stop the angry townspeople.

But they didn't see anyone in the police station.

These people had no choice but to walk out of the police station.

"If only they could always hide like this when collecting taxes!"
