Chapter 23 The Killer and the Director

Thinking of that incident, Chandler felt angry.

He cursed in his heart, these nobles were too corrupt.

It would be great to have such a big boat for fishing and trafficking dark-skinned guys.

But I put it here to play with. When I was a child, I couldn’t even afford a toy boat!

Deep down in his heart, he really wished he could have such a boat!

We must completely defeat these damn nobles and replace them ourselves.

"Actually, it's not a ship."

Because of the matter that was pushed to the director before, the director was obviously extremely dissatisfied with himself.

Charlie wants to redeem his score with the Director.

Because he was eager to express himself, his speech was inevitably a little incoherent.

Chandler still remembers this kid pushing himself into a pile of shit.

I have secretly made up my mind to deal with him well when I go back.

Unexpectedly, he could not wait to deliver it to my door now.

"My dear little Charlie, you don't mean to tell me that it's actually a carriage disguised as a ship!"

"I mean that's not a fishing boat."

"I understand what you mean. You mean there is a whole band of musicians sitting on the side of the ship, there are some ragged dancers dancing on the deck, and the nobles are drinking bottle after bottle of fine whiskey and good vintage wine, right?"

The above is what Director Chandler saw and heard when he first came to Xiaoqiao Town to take office.

At that time, he went to the holiday house on the beach to meet Baron Huntington, who happened to be entertaining guests on the boat.

Chandler was also fortunate enough to be invited on board the ship and spent an unforgettable afternoon on the ship.

What he just said was actually what he saw and heard on the boat that day.

Unfortunately, that was also the only time I had the opportunity to be a guest on that ship.

"These damn nobles don't take us petty officials seriously at all. Sooner or later, that ship will fall into my hands, Lord Chandler!"

He was looking forward to the future, and the annoying Charlie interrupted his thoughts.

"Master Director, what I mean is that the ship is actually a battleship."

"Warship, don't think that I don't know what a warship looks like. If you dare to tease me, I will kill you right now!"

"What I said is absolutely true. I heard a drunk sailor say it with my own ears during a night patrol. The ship was a warship built by the Baron in the New World. It was disguised as a fishing boat on the outside, but in fact, it had a secret cabin inside.

It was equipped with almost twenty cannons, and because it was secretly built in the New World, everyone thought it was really a pleasure ship."

"Why would the Baron dress up a warship to look like a cruise ship?"

"My lord, those damn nobles must be planning to use this warship to launch a coup!"

"Do you know how many warships there are in the Queen's Harbor fleet? Can you start a rebellion with just one warship?"

"Then the Baron must be experimenting with some new type of cannon on the warship. With the distance between here and the beach, we can see such a violent flash. Perhaps the power of this type of artillery can destroy the entire Queens Harbor in one fell swoop,"

"Yes, what you said seems to make some sense."

"Director, let's go to the beach and have a look. If it's as we imagined, it will be a great achievement."

"I need to think about this"

What Chandler needs to consider is the naval gun on the warship, plus the new gunpowder that emits blue light.

If you were discovered on the beach and shot, everything would be fine.

Chandler was hesitant here, but Charlie was eager to succeed.

"Sir, is there anything else worth considering? Aren't you just thinking about getting promoted and then returning to the city to reunite with your relatives in the city?"

"Charlie, think about it carefully. They already know that there is a group of men with guns near the castle. Why do they do this and deliberately show off their secrets to us?"

"Well, didn't Boss Lockerbie say that the royalists are all retarded!"

"Didn't you see what stupid things he did in his pub? Lockerbie is the idiot. Think about it, maybe they deliberately opened fire to lure us to the beach."

"Why?"

"Firstly, we acted quickly and they failed to find us outside the castle to lure us out. Secondly, they need test subjects, which are live targets. Think about it carefully. If there are no live ones, why don't you get them?

As a test product for weapons, the significance of their experiment will be greatly reduced!"

Charlie "······"

"Master Director, you are really wise!"

"Chandler, your subordinate said very well, we must go to the beach to have a look."

Two voices, one from the left and one from the right, sounded in Chandler's ears.

"Which piece of shit spoke to me in such a tone?" Chandler looked angry and glared at the subordinates around him.

Everyone looked at each other, Charlie stretched out his hand and pointed behind Chandler: "Sir..."

Chandler turned around and saw something smeared on both faces.

A guy with vines wrapped around his body like an evil spirit that just escaped from hell.

Together they stood out from the haystacks on their left and right, less than five meters away.

The two men raised their hands and pointed four guns at them.

The subordinates beside Chandler raised their guns one after another and started a confrontation with the two intruders.

Director Chandler quickly raised his hand: "Don't shoot, I can completely explain the fact that I entered the barony."

"Chandler, you are such a coward. You have nine people with you!" one person said.

"It's the two of us," the other person said.

Chandler finally recognized them as Poison and No Ice.

Their experiences were similar to those of people like Chandler.

The two men got lost in the woods in order to get away from the veterans who came out to search the castle.

Later they discovered Chandler and his party.

Thinking that these people are local snakes and must know the way, they followed them quietly.

Unexpectedly, these people had barely entered the barony and were as lost as they were.

I thought I would be able to return to the town soon, but they ended up taking me to this ghost place.

Two people were hiding nearby, heard their conversation, and concluded that the baron was conducting another experiment on the beach.

Even if there is no so-called experiment, the battleship itself is an important piece of information.

"For the sake of the cause of the constitutionalists, you must take us to the beach to see what happened there."

Not only the wooden house, but also the castle also saw this beam of light.

At the four corners of the rooftop of the central tower, four Royal Guardsmen stood on each side.

They and the guards on the southern tower where the Queen was located all saw the blue beam of light coming from the sea.

Soon the news reached the Baron through several channels.
