Chapter 27: Uphill and Downfield 4

I ran over, picked up my backpack, and carried it on my back as I ran. That way, I looked like someone who was "stealing grain." I walked and ran all the way down the mountain, in a state of embarrassment.

Fortunately, there was no one along the way. No one saw my embarrassed and embarrassed look.

When I got home, I saw that my brothers had come back. They also had some pigweed, and Xiaojie was cutting it.

Look at the time, it's almost four o'clock, a bit early rather than late.

I said: "Brother Jun, hurry up and throw some potatoes into the cow head pot and cook them. When Xiaojie cuts the pigweed and pours it into the pot, put the corn noodles later and take out the potatoes."

When it was ready, we made rice noodles. We ate potatoes, fed the pigs, and then went to the fields to look at the millet."

The brothers said: "Okay."

Xiaojie saw me carrying the bamboo pole and asked, "Brother, are you going to the mountain?"

I said, "Yeah. I've looked at the ones on the mountain. The ones on top of the 'big rocks' can be broken off, but the ones in the apple forest below can only be broken off in three to five days."

Xiaojie said: "The pieces in front of and behind the house can only be broken off in three to five days."

I said, "We won't go to see those on the dam. When we see someone in the village doing it, we will do it."

Xiaojie said: "After eating potatoes, let's go see the millet in the paddy fields first, and then go to the dry fields."

I smiled and agreed. Because we are used to going to paddy fields first and then to dry fields, because the paddy fields are close to the mountains and the dry fields are close to the river. The paddy fields and dry fields are actually the highway to Malaysia, separated by the road.

It's just that the terrain of the paddy fields is a little lower, and that of the dry fields is a little higher. The height difference on both sides of the road is about a little more than one meter. Of course, the terrain of the paddy fields near the mountain side is several meters higher than that of the dry fields. I looked at the paddy fields.

When you are in the dry field, you can go along the river to catch fish and bathe.

After eating potatoes and feeding the pigs, we were ready to go out.

Brother Jun asked with a smile: "Brother, would you like to pick up the dustpan?"

I pretended not to know what he meant and asked, "Why are you carrying the dustpan to pull pigweed?"

Brother Jun said a little aggrievedly: "Hasn't the pig grass been pulled back?"

Xiaojie hurriedly said: "What do you think this is?" As he said this, he took out a plastic bag.

As soon as Brother Jun saw Xiaojie taking out the plastic bag, he knew he was going to catch fish. He muttered with a smile: "Huh, you guys are making fun of me."

Looking at his cute look, I couldn't help but laugh. The embarrassment and depression in my heart was swept away.

When we came to the paddy field, we saw that from the big pond, the weir pond, to the inner part of the horse, this large area was filled with rice fields. The golden ears of grain were heavy and bent against the head. It was another good harvest year. After the "Three Sides of Light"

There is a "lower stone field" ridge, and the second field you turn into is my family's paddy field. There is a field ridge next to my family's paddy field, which is also my family's "seedling field".

I looked around the field and saw that the ears of grain had not yet bent in place. One-third of the grains were yellow, but the remaining two-thirds were still "turning from green to yellow." Based on experience, it was estimated that it might take ten more years.

It takes many days to harvest. Looking at the surrounding rice fields, other people’s rice fields are similar to mine. It only takes two to three days to get in and out.

After reading it, I felt that there was still a lot of water in the paddy field, so I dug a gap at the bottom of the field with my hands and made a "level" to drain the excess water, leaving only a thin layer of water to replenish the grains that were finally "grouted".

After the water is "leveled", walk along the "lower stone field" ridge towards the dry field.

While walking, Brother Jun said: "Brother, let's have a drink in the ditch of "Xia Shitian"."

I said: "In the past few years, this ditch has been built into a 'three-sided light'. There are no fish left. The 'sulfur water' from the mountain has also flowed down and caused pollution. Many fish have been killed by the poison."

When Brother Jun heard what we said, he also said: "I still know, I just want to give it a try."

We just said: "Okay, let's take a pinch."

As a result, there was no harvest after a few pinches. The dustpan got wet and a lot of mud was stuck on it.

Seeing that Brother Jun was weak and couldn't hold the dustpan, I took the dustpan from his hand, stood with my legs spread apart on both sides of the 'Xiashi Tian', leaned down, and held the left sill with my left hand.

, holding the dustpan in his right hand, he shook it vigorously back and forth in the ditch. After shaking it several times, he cleaned up the mud on the dustpan.

After crossing the road to Malaysia, we walked about 200 meters to the river and reached my farm.

The rice in the dry field is basically "bent", and the golden ears of rice are swaying in the breeze, as if waving to us, it feels like saying: "Come and harvest."

The rice in dry fields can be harvested in just three to five days. We quickly cut out the ridges at the bottom of the fields to create a large drainage channel, and then completely drained the water in the fields. In this way, we can harvest in a few days, and people can walk inside.

It will not be easy for your feet to sink into the mud, which will save a lot of effort. More importantly, it will facilitate the drying of the straw. There will be no wet water or mud on the straw. If it is dried directly in the field, it will have a unique fragrance of straw.
