Chapter 520 World Pop Song Contest

The Tokyo Budokan was bustling with people.

The 8th Japan World Song Festival (World Pop Song Contest) will be held tonight at the highest palace of Japanese singers.

The organizer of this conference has been the Yamaha Music Promotion Association of Japan since the first one.

It is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, Japan Airlines, Yamaha Motors, and Japan Musical Instruments Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (Yamaha).

Sponsors include Japanese Records, Sony Records, Toshiba EMI Records, Polydor, Warner Pioneer, Columbia Records and other companies.

Two months before the competition, the contestants must first send the audio tape of their work to the Japan World Music Festival.

After passing the selection of the conference, you will be invited by the organizer of the conference and qualified to participate in Tokyo, Japan.

Air tickets, food and accommodation for Lu Dongjie and Zhang Guorong were all taken care of by Japan Airlines and Keio Plaza Hotel.

For the 8th World Music Festival, the judging panel received a total of about 2,000 new songs composed by participants.

After elimination, 40 songs from 24 countries and regions around the world were selected for the competition.

The songs shortlisted for this competition are all new songs, and those that have already released records will naturally be excluded.

Among the forty singers selected, the singers representing Hong Kong are Leslie Cheung and Lu Yunna.

This conference is held for three consecutive nights, with the first and second nights being qualifying rounds and the third night being a final.

These forty songs went through two qualifying rounds and half were eliminated before the selected songs entered the finals on the third day.

Zhang Guorong's participation tonight is the first qualifying match, and Luyunna's second qualifying match tomorrow night.

The conference has four honors, including "Overall Champion Award", "Best Composition Award", "Best Performance Award" and "Outstanding Performance Award".

The judges are 23 veterans from the world's music industry. The judging criteria not only focus on the quality of the songs, lyrics and arrangements, but also focus on the singer's live performance.

Tonight at 5:30 pm, Lu Dongjie took the subway from Shinjuku to Chiyoda's Budokan with Zhong Chuhong.

Although Lu Dongjie holds a guest ticket given by the organizer, if the two of them want to sit together, they still have to pay for the tickets out of their own pockets to watch the game.

However, the admission tickets are not very expensive. The best seats in the S area are 6,000 yen, which is equivalent to about 116 Hong Kong dollars.

For other seating areas, seats in area A are 5,000 yen, area B are 4,000 yen, and area C are 2,500 yen.

There was excitement that could not be hidden on Zhong Chuhong's face, like a bird escaping from its cage, this was new and that was curious.

It's just that I was hugged and hugged by someone all the time on the road, and I was eaten a lot of tofu in secret, and I was so stupid that I didn't know it.

After Zhong Chuhong sat down, she still looked around restlessly, "Is this the place where you performed on stage last time?"

Lu Dongjie nodded, "Well, let's revisit the old place."

The last time he performed here was when he was invited by the Tokyo Music Festival to serve as a guest singer at a conference.

This time, in addition to arranging for Leslie Cheung to compete, he was still invited by the organizer to be a guest singer.

The Tokyo Music Festival and the Japan World Music Festival are two important music events in Japan every year.

There is a difference between the two. The music festival focuses on already-famous singers, while the music festival focuses on emerging singers who are more creative.

Lu Dongjie has already seen the list of selected singers, but he barely recognizes them, and he has never heard of the selected songs.

There is no doubt that this is a competition for emerging singers, and singers of different levels will not be mixed in to compete on the same stage.

Zhong Chuhong couldn't help but praise: "It's really beautiful here, but I can't seem to see it from the TV."

Lu Dongjie did not deny it and said: "So those Japanese and foreign singers are proud to come here to hold concerts."

The design of Japanese architects is still very high-quality. This stadium, which was built for the Olympic Games more than ten years ago, still looks very modern now.

Its exterior adopts a traditional Japanese architectural design, but its interior is full of modern design.

This alternation of old and new styles will give the audience who walk in here a great sense of contrast and shock.

Zhong Chuhong suddenly pursed her lips, "It's just that the place is a bit narrow, not as wide as our government stadium."

Lu Dongjie couldn't help but laugh, "Miss, that's for playing football, it has different functions."

He patted her little hand and told her: "Okay, just sit here and don't run around. I'll go backstage to see how the preparations are going."

Zhong Chuhong blinked her big eyes at him, "Don't worry, I won't talk to strangers."

She held his hand coquettishly again, "But come back soon, I'm bored sitting here."

Lu Dongjie rubbed her hair and said with a smile, "Well, I'll go back quickly. I won't wait too long."

After he got up, he walked straight ahead.

In the noisy background, there are people from all over the world, from three mountains and five mountains, and they also speak different languages.

Lu Dongjie walked around in the crowd, and finally found two inconspicuous young lovers in a corner.

Yu Xiaoxin's face showed joy, "Boss, you are finally here. Waiting here is really boring."

Zhang Guorong's face was slightly embarrassed, but he also breathed a sigh of relief, "Lu Sheng, you are here."

Lu Dongjie pretended not to notice the difference between the two of them, "How about it, you are ready."

Yu Xiaoxin curled her lips and rushed to answer, "We are all ready, it's just that some people don't think highly of us."

She was temporarily seconded by Lu Dongjie to act as a Japanese translator for Zhang Guorong during the Song Festival.

Zhang Guorong took over and said, "I reviewed the music score with their accompaniment band and rehearsed it in advance. There is no problem."

He looked at the fishing line and said, "Some people laughed at me, saying that I am a Chinese singer who sings Japanese songs to please them."

Lu Dongjie patted him on the shoulder, "There is no need to pay attention to these gossips, just defeat them on the stage."

He paused and said, "When your song becomes a hit all over Japan and the record is sold out, they will be jealous."

After hearing Lu Dongjie's exaggerated statement, both of them laughed at the same time, and the unhappiness they felt just now disappeared immediately.

At this time, Weng Qianyu walked over slowly, smiling before saying anything, "Hey, Mr. Lu, you finally showed up."

Lu Dongjie couldn't help but take a closer look and praised: "Miss Weng, you are very beautiful in your dress tonight."

Weng Qianyu smiled and nodded, "Thank you!"

She turned her head to encourage Leslie Cheung, "Arong, you have to work hard tonight and fight for us Chinese singers."

Zhang Guorong nodded shyly, "Well, I will do my best."

Weng Qianyu came over to say hello, and after a brief chat, she was busy dealing with other things.

She serves as the female emcee of this music festival, and her partner as the male emcee is the famous Japanese singer Sakamoto Ku.

He once used a Japanese song "SUKIYAKI" to remain the number one song on the US Billboard for three consecutive weeks.

At the same time, it can also be seen that the organizers must have had special considerations in personnel arrangements for this song festival.

Lu Dongjie and Sakamoto Jiu have both won the number one song on the US Billboard and also appeared on the British singles chart. They can barely be called internationally famous singers.

The organizer arranged for two international singers from China and Japan at the same time, and the purpose was nothing more than to put some money on their faces and increase their publicity.

As the time approaches, everything is ready.

This martial arts gym, which can accommodate more than 10,000 spectators, was packed with seats tonight, with people everywhere.

At half past six, under the auspices of the conference emcees Sakamoto Ku and Weng Qianyu, the 1977 Tokyo World Pop Song Festival officially began.
