006 The case two years ago

I was stunned and looked up at the door.

The person shining a flashlight on this room was a woman wearing a police uniform. I recognized this person at a glance. She was the only female police officer in our criminal police team, named Jiang Xue.

She and I know each other and have handled some cases together before. Although this woman looks pretty, she is actually a bit of a tiger. She is always at the forefront when something happens, and when she encounters a case, she reaches for it.

Responsible.

I guess Captain Xia asked Jiang Xue to pick us up because he was afraid that she would make a mistake.

Jiang Xue saw me squatting on the ground and covering my head. She thought something had happened to me. She turned off the flashlight and ran over to ask me what was going on. Was there anything going on?

I stood up and shook my head and said it was okay, I was just thinking about something.

Jiang Xue nodded after hearing that it was okay, then glanced around and couldn't help but said: "Zhunzheng, you are quite a man. You are not afraid of being alone here. You are still thinking about the case. Don't talk about others.

Even if I stay here alone, I can't help but feel frightened."

I didn't say anything, but pointed to Liu Zi who was leaning against the wall. It meant that there was another person there.

Jiang Xue glanced at Liu Zi, was stunned for a moment and asked me what was going on with Liu Zi.

The strange thing just now was a bit mysterious, and I didn't understand what it was about.

I mumbled that Liuzi was a little sleepy, so he stood there and fell asleep.

Jiang Xue shook her head and said with admiration, "This guy is pretty good, he can fall asleep standing up, and he's still in such an environment."

I made a perfunctory hum, but actually my mind was all about what happened with the CD, and I didn’t want to stay in this place any longer. I told Jiang Xue that it was getting late, so hurry up and take Liuzi back.

As I said that, I glanced at the CD in my hand, thought for a moment, found a sealed bag and put it in, ready to take it back and think about it again. After all, what just happened was too weird.

Before leaving, Jiang Xue wanted to wake Liu Zi up. I thought that Liu Zi might not have recovered yet, so I told Jiang Xue that Liu Zi was quite tired and asked him to rest. Then I carried Liu Zi on my back and left the host's house.

Jiang Xue drove here in the team's car and there was a lot of space, so I put Liu Zi in the back row and then got into the front row.

On the way back, my tense nerves also relaxed. As soon as I relaxed, I felt a sense of fatigue arise in my heart.

In order to distract myself, I asked Jiang Xuexia if there was anything going on over there. After all, I didn’t want to fall asleep for a few minutes and then be woken up again.

It's okay if I don't say it, but Jiang Xue was still a little angry when she said it, saying that Team Xia was a patriarchal person and wouldn't let me investigate, so I had to pick you up and so on.

I thought I couldn't get anything out of her, so I just asked Jiang Xue to take me and Liuzi back to the funeral home.

I didn't say anything but Jiang Xue got excited and kept asking me about the host and if there were any results from the autopsy.

I was always thinking about the CD, so I dealt with her casually.

In the end, she probably got tired of asking, so she stopped asking me and started driving the car with concentration.

Half an hour later, Jiang Xue left me and Liu Zi at the funeral parlor, and then drove off to find Team Xia.

Before leaving, she said something, asking me to contact her immediately if I found any clues. After saying that, she still felt it was inappropriate, so she added at the end that I would tell Team Xia.

I continued to be perfunctory and waited for Jiang Xue to leave, then I carried Liuzi to the temporary rest bed in the funeral parlor. Finally, I carefully looked at Liuzi to make sure he was okay before I got up and left.

Generally, people in our industry may suddenly work overtime on certain days, so there are simple beddings in the funeral parlor so that you can take an emergency rest when you are done with things.

I looked at the time and it was already five o'clock in the morning. The appraisers at the funeral home didn't go to work until around eight o'clock. I could take advantage of this moment to take a nap.

Before going to bed while lying on the small bed, I thought of the strange dream I had in the Xia team car.

At first I didn't think about it carefully because I was in a hurry to go to the scene, but now that I think about the dream, it makes me feel even more weird.

In the dream, what was that inhuman being lying in front of a pile of things, waving a knife vigorously?

Could it be that the pile of things below is a corpse?

Thinking of this, I remembered that guy opened his mouth and read a number every time he swung the knife.

And it just so happened that I stopped when I reached thirty-six!

Is there really a corpse down there? If it is a corpse, is that guy the murderer?

I carefully recalled what that guy's face looked like, but in the end I couldn't remember anything.

"etc!"

I suddenly sat up and suddenly remembered what the guy in the dream seemed to have said when he looked back at me.

I didn't fully understand that sentence, but I'm sure the previous sentence was "this case."

But there is no impression behind it.

This case? What happened to this case?

Does this case refer to the dismemberment case?

If it was this corpse dismemberment case, what did he want to express?

Thinking of it, I lost all energy at the end and fell into a deep sleep without even realizing it.

When I woke up again, I was awakened by the ringing of my cell phone.

I sat up in a daze, reached out for the mobile phone lying beside me and glanced at the caller ID. Suddenly I wasn't sleepy at all.

This phone number disappeared from my memory for a while, but the owner of this number is something I will never forget in my life.

This person is none other than my old colleague.

When I first became a trainee forensic doctor, I practiced master-to-disciple training. He led me in conducting anatomy, identification, and solving cases, so I respectfully called him master.

My master is quite famous in the police circles of our entire province. Even the director of our bureau usually has to lower his profile and say hello to my master when he sees him.

This is not because of my master's age, but because my master really has a lot of abilities.

He has been in our bureau for more than ten years. It is a bit big to say that the cases that come into his hands are solved repeatedly, but in general, there are some individual cases that cannot be solved without my master.

It stands to reason that with my master's skills, there would be no problem in developing his career in the provincial department, but no one knows why he has stayed in our bureau for more than ten years.

When the master taught me, it could be said that he taught me everything he had, but maybe because of my limited talent, what I learned was only about 50 to 60% of what the master did.

The last time I saw my master, I went to his house to pay him New Year greetings during the Chinese New Year. I am also very busy here on weekdays, so it has been nearly half a year since I last saw him. I was naturally very happy that the master could call me.

I was so happy that I lost my sleep all at once. I pressed answer directly and called: Master.

There was a somewhat aged word 'um' coming from the other side, and I accepted it.

My master and I rarely talk on the phone on weekdays. When the master called me, I didn’t even think about why he called me and just started chatting.

After chatting for about a minute or two, the master suddenly fell silent, and then asked me: "Xiao Zheng, I heard that the host of our TV station died? Are you taking over this case?"

After listening to the master's words, I didn't feel weird at all. Although there was a murder case, the police would block the information until the case was solved, but the master had been working with us for such a long time, so he had some connections and could get some information.

I didn't hide anything, I nodded and said, "Yes, what happened in the early morning, the forensic doctor resigned due to family matters, there is no one here at the moment, I am responsible for it."

The master paused for a moment, and then said: "Tell me the host's death characteristics."

I was a little hesitant when I heard it. Logically speaking, things like this cannot be discussed with the outside world. If I did, it would not only violate the rules of the police force, but also violate the taboos of our profession.

But the other person is my master.

After thinking for a while, I decided to tell everything. This case is a bit difficult for me. There are many puzzles in it that I can't figure out. Maybe the master has a way to solve it?

Immediately afterwards, I told the master about the discovery of the body and what was found during the dissection of the deceased's stomach.

When the master heard the word "dismembered corpse", he interrupted me and asked: "Dismembered corpse? Tell me the parts of the dismembered corpse."

"The host's chest and head were intact, but the rest of the body had been chopped off. No limbs, fingers, or toes were spared. According to my observation, the wound on the deceased seemed to have been chopped off and then

He was bitten again and his flesh and blood were bloody."

Before I could finish my words, the master immediately interrupted me: "Did you get a total of thirty-six cuts?"

I was shocked and my eyes widened with disbelief on my face: "Master, how do you know?"

At the beginning of the conversation, the master's understanding of the case was only that the case was a bit strange, the dead person was the host, and he knew nothing about the rest. When I told him, I only said that the dead body was cut into pieces, and there was no other information.

I told you about the thirty-six cuts.

How did the master know if he didn't say anything?

Before I could figure out what was going on, there was a faint sigh from the master's side.

I always felt that the master seemed to know something, so I couldn't help but ask: "Master, do you have any other opinions on this case?"

The master did not answer my words, but asked me: "Xiao Zheng, do you still remember the case I took you to during your internship two years ago?"

"Which one?" When I was an intern two years ago, I encountered many cases with my master, and I didn't know which one the master was talking about.

"That's the case of dismemberment."

I was stunned for a moment, and my mind recalled the case that my master led me to solve two years ago when I was an intern.

That case was also a case of mutilated corpses. I remember that when I first saw the mutilated corpse, just like Liuzi now, I couldn't help but knelt down on the spot and vomited.

But there is nothing special about this case? Didn’t the murderer be caught and the case closed in the end?

I really couldn't figure it out, so I asked the master clearly what was going on.

The master pondered for a moment and said, "Think carefully about the corpse dismemberment case two years ago and the corpse dismemberment case now, and see if there are any similarities."

After listening to the master's words, I frowned. But I still slowly recalled the case two years ago.

That was the first time I encountered a mutilation case, and it was also the first time I saw a deceased person with such a tragic appearance, so I have a deep memory.

But what is the connection between the dismemberment case of the deceased two years ago and the current dismemberment case?

After thinking about it for a while, I couldn't help but think of something the master blurted out.

Thirty-six knives!
