Chapter 56 Liu Xiaocui is sick

So Qiao Erzhu found his old group of good brothers and decided to teach Liu Xiaocui a lesson. But he was afraid that Qiao Jiarong would find out, so he deliberately refused to go home with her.

Qiao Erzhu and a group of his friends skipped class and went to the fields to kill two snakes.

Put it on Liu Xiaocui's only way home, and then they hid in the grass nearby and waited for Liu Xiaocui to pass by.

Although Liu Xiaocui was older than her classmates, most girls were afraid of snakes, and Liu Xiaocui was no exception. When she saw the two snakes blocking the road, she was so frightened that she cried on the spot, but she didn't have the strength to run away.

Qiao Erzhu and others who were hiding nearby saw Liu Xiaocui crying. Several people jumped out from behind the grass and laughed, pointing at Liu Xiaocui and calling her a coward.

At this time, Liu Xiaocui was so frightened that she couldn't hear anything the people around her said except crying.

However, Qiao Erzhu and others did not notice anything unusual about Liu Xiaocui. After laughing, they each carried their schoolbags and left, leaving Liu Xiaocui squatting there alone and crying.

Later, a villager from their village passed by and saw something was wrong with Liu Xiaocui, so he sent her home.

Two dead snakes on the road were also kicked by the villager into the dry ditch next to them.

Liu Xiaocui, who was sent home, developed a high fever that night and kept shouting: "There are snakes, there are snakes."

It wasn't until dawn that the fever slowly subsided. But she was completely lethargic. Seeing their child like this, her parents had to ask her classmates to help her and the teacher take a leave.

Qiao Jiarong only found out that Liu Xiaocui asked for leave when she went to school the next day. When she asked the classmates around her, no one knew why she asked for leave.

Qiao Jiarong was a little worried about her and planned to visit her home after school.

School ends at 11 o'clock at noon and goes to school at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. There are three hours in between. It is quite urgent to go to Xiaoyushu Village, which is not far away.

However, Qiao Jiarong didn't know where Liu Xiaocui's home was. He only knew that her home was in Xiaoyushu Village, and he had to find out about it after school from the students in their same village.

Qiao Erzhu, the culprit, felt a little worried and guilty when he saw Liu Xiaocui didn't come to school.

But when he thought that no one would compete with him to rob Qiao Jiarong, he quickly forgot about his worries and happily went to play with his classmates.

When school was over at noon, Qiao Jiarong was in a hurry to see Liu Xiaocui without waiting for Qiao Erzhu to leave with him. After returning home and having dinner, she told Qiao Tieniu and took two apples to Xiaoyushu Village.

When I arrived at Xiaoyushu Village, I saw several children playing in the open space at the entrance of the village.

Although Qiao Jiarong didn't know them, she knew that several of these students went to school in their Dayelms Village.

So, Qiao Jiarong took out a handful of fruit candies from his pocket and came to a few people and said, "Does any of you know where Liu Xiaocui's family lives?"

"have no idea."

"Who are you? What are you doing with her?"

"Who is Liu Xiaocui?"

"Stupid! Liu Xiaocui is Liu Xiaobao's eldest sister."

"I know, her house is at the end of the row by the river. The one with a lot of haystacks at the door."

When the children who were playing heard Qiao Jiarong's words, they all started talking. Some said they didn't know, and some said they knew.

Qiao Jiarong heard the news he wanted and distributed the fruit candies in his hands to the children one by one. They all happily took them and put them in their mouths.

The children who ate candy were even more positive. One child who knew Liu Xiaocui’s family said to Qiao Jiarong while eating candy: “I know where Liu Xiaocui’s family is? I’ll take you there.”

When other people heard about it, they also said, "I will take you there too."

Qiao Jiarong smiled and thanked them and said, "Thank you, I already know." After that, he left.

The children who just got the candy were quite disappointed. They thought they could get another candy!

Qiao Jiarong didn't know what these children were thinking. She knew the direction of Liu Xiaocui's house and immediately ran to her house.

When I arrived at Liu Xiaocui's house, I was a little surprised when I saw his adobe house, which was much smaller than the average house. Then I thought about Liu Xiaocui's age. Maybe this is the reason why she went to school late!

Liu Xiaocui's house has no courtyard wall, but there is a large drying ground.

The youngest son of the Liu family was playing on the grain-shading field when he saw Qiao Jiarong walking in. He asked curiously: "Who are you looking for?"

"I'm looking for Liu Xiaocui, is she at home?" Qiao Jiarong squatted in front of Liu Dabao and asked.

Liu Xiaobao saw that Qiao Jiarong did not answer her question, but shouted in the direction of the kitchen: "Mom! Someone is looking for eldest sister."

"Who is it?" A middle-aged woman ran out of the kitchen and said.

Liu Dabao pointed at Qiao Jiarong and said, "That's her."

Seeing the person coming, Qiao Jiarong guessed that it was Liu Xiaocui's mother. He stepped forward to say hello and said: "Hello, aunt, I am Liu Xiaocui's classmate. She did not go to school today, I came to see her."

"Oh! He's Xiaocui's classmate! Come in quickly.

Xiaocui had a fever last night and she has no energy. She is still lying in bed! So, I asked for leave." Liu Xiaocui's mother said to her while leading Qiao Jiarong into the house.

Qiao Jiarong followed her into the room of Liu Xiaocui and her sister.

Probably hearing the voices outside, Liu Xiaocui in the room had already sat up from the bed. After seeing Qiao Jiarong come in, she said happily: "Qiao Jiarong, why are you here?"

"I saw that you didn't go to school today, so I came over to see you." After saying that, he put the apple he brought over on the chair beside Liu Xiaocui's bed.

On the side, Liu Xiaocui's mother saw the apples that Qiao Jiarong brought and her eyes narrowed with laughter. She brought a bench to Qiao Jiarong and said, "Sit down quickly, Auntie will get you a glass of water."

"Thank you, auntie! No, I'll be leaving soon, I have to go to school soon!" Qiao Jiarong refused quickly.

Liu Xiaocui's mother smiled and said nothing, and then left after pouring sugar water for Qiao Jiarong.

After she left, Qiao Jiarong asked Liu Xiaocui: "Why do you have a fever when you are fine? Did you catch a cold yesterday?"

"I didn't catch a cold. I was scared by a snake on the road yesterday." Liu Xiaocui shook her head and said.

Liu Xiaocui's words surprised Qiao Jiarong. How could there be a snake on the road with people coming and going? Besides, snakes usually swim away quickly when they see people, so they won't scare her into getting sick!

Liu Xiaocui saw that Qiao Jiarong didn't seem to believe it, so she quickly assured her, "It's true, that snake's death is so tragic, it looks so scary."

Thinking of the scene at that time, Liu Xiaocui shook her body unconsciously.

When Qiao Jiarong saw them, he quickly stepped forward, hugged her and comforted her, saying, "Don't be afraid. Next time you see them, just close your eyes and pick them to the side with a branch, and you won't be able to see them anymore."

Liu Xiaocui is actually not timid, she is just very afraid of snakes.

But after Qiao Jiarong's comfort, Liu Xiaocui felt that she was not so afraid of snakes. At least, she would not think about the dead snake yesterday when she closed her eyes now.
