Chapter 3 The Wild Years (3)

By counting, humans have been learning farming for nearly 10,000 years. During this period, the crop varieties cultivated can be described as brilliant as stars and countless. However, most of the varieties have become severely specialized due to the critical selection and breeding process of humans. More precisely, the deterioration of the survival ability in the wild has lost the ability to compete freely with wild plants. For example, typical cultivated crops such as wheat, rice, and corn have lost the good environmental adaptability that their ancestors once had. If humans did not provide good water and fertilizer management, they would be afraid that they would not even be able to emerge after only sprinkling seeds.

Two female doctors, Xu Yunyun and Tan Xiaoyan, are in charge of the medicinal plant part of the Taohuayuan greenhouse, while medicinal plants are not as delicate as grains and vegetables. Most of the herbs are still wild and have very tenacious vitality. They should be able to adapt to this cold and humid land after the flood.

Facing Wu Han's sudden question, Tan Xiaoyan looked embarrassed, and then she reached out her hand in seclusion and pulled the corner of Xu Yunyun's clothes. The two ladies walked aside and muttered a few words to the others, and then Xu Yunyun, who had always been generous, spoke:

"I have been busy fighting floods some time ago. The seed harvesting is not very timely and the inventory is not too much. I'm afraid it will take some time to prepare."

"Oh, this is not a problem. I have been enduring for so long, so I'm probably going to endure it for a few days."

Hearing the sound, Wu Han waved his hand easily, looking indifferent, and didn't even put the words of the two female doctors in his heart.

Since the direction of future development has been generally determined, the survivors wandered around the wilderness for a while before returning home.

Time always slips away inadvertently. When working in a state of burying the work, time feels passing quickly. Since the accelerated greening plan was decided, the survivors seemed to have found their goal again. The former emptiness and loneliness suddenly disappeared, and they were busy every day, with joyful smiles on their faces. Soon after, the week-long preparations were completed, and the pioneering cause of Peach Blossom Land officially kicked off. This time, the seeds prepared to sow into the wasteland were not just medicinal plants, but also a large number of legume grass varieties, such as alfalfa, arrow tongue peas, osmanthus, clover, zirconia, etc.

These legume grasses have natural nitrogen fixing skills. They are planted in wastelands as green manure, which is very suitable for improving soil fertility. With these green manures at the bottom, the soil fertility will increase significantly after being plowed in the next year, and it will be easier to survive if you have to plant other crops.

The seeds of the forage this time were mobilized by all the survivors and were collected from various greenhouses in the cave, so people were reluctant to sow randomly like grass seeds. After careful consideration, Wu Han brought two adult male Siementra cattle from the cattle farm and conducted several days of attack-sharpening and attacking training to prepare for employment.

Siementra cattle is an excellent cattle breed native to Switzerland. The biggest feature of this breed is its good combination performance. It produces good milk and has good meat quality. However, what Wu Han is more interested in is their value as plowing cattle. As a source of power that does not consume fuel, such as eating beef, you can only stand aside.

In the slightly chilling north wind, the simple plowshare with rough work slowly moved forward under the pull of two strong cows. Wu Han, who pretended to be a farmer, held the plow with one hand, waved the whip with the other, and shouted in his mouth that no one could understand. The women followed behind and sowed the seeds in the ground, while completing the aftermath of covering the soil and watering. Just like those who have been cultivating on the land of China for thousands of years, they sowed hope for the future.

Under the long-lost bright sunshine, all the survivors of the hard-working Peach Blossom Spring feel a sense of joy that arises.

"Brother Zhao, why did you suddenly cut off the news recently? Nothing happened, right?"

Time did not stop for a moment. One day after dinner, Wu Han turned on the radio as usual and unexpectedly heard a familiar radio call from the speaker. After a long time of no news, Zhao Manxiong's sudden appearance aroused Wu Han's interest, and he immediately turned on the microphone to talk nonsense.

Working from sunrise and resting from sunset is an unwritten tradition in the ancient farming era. Although Peach Blossom Land has abundant electricity to provide lighting for the night, survivors have worked hard for a whole day during the day, and then they don’t have much enthusiasm to work overtime to farm. Wu Han also believes that evening should be a rest time, so in recent times, as soon as the sun is approaching the setting, survivors have greeted each other to pack up their tools and lead the cow home to rest.

Recently, Wu Han was busy searching for information and supplementing agricultural and animal husbandry knowledge, but he forgot about what Zhao Manxiong hadn't happened for a long time. It was not until this time that he remembered this abnormal phenomenon.

As Wu Han made a sound, Zhao Manxiong was startled. After laughing dryly, he said:

"Oh, it's a long story! God knows why the mountain torrents come so fast, and the underground river suddenly rises. Fortunately, it's sufficient staff and transfers fast enough, otherwise I should have to report to the Dragon Prince. It's not easy to settle down, and the generator has not much fuel. It's hard to describe it!"

Logically speaking, if the sun rises in the east and rains in the west, the climate change in all parts of China cannot be the same. Moreover, with the vast territory of China and the large span of north and south, there are very few natural disasters that can sweep the entire area. Unless it is a major change of the doomsday catastrophe like nuclear winter or a super volcano eruption. However, common sense inferences do not apply to things that originally do not belong to common sense. It is obvious that when the Peach Blossom Spring is surrounded by a flood, it is helpless in the face of the heavy rain, even people on the southwest plateau thousands of miles away are also suffering from floods.

Thinking of all the signs, Wu Han not only took a breath, could he underestimate the ability of the big eyeball? Thinking of this, Wu Han quickly asked:

"Brother Zhao, do you remember when the flood occurred?"

"It was the sixth of last month! Yes, it should be the sixth."

Maybe he didn't expect Wu Han to ask such an irrelevant question. Zhao Manxiong hesitated for a moment before responding. Hearing the sound, Wu Han nodded and said:

"Oh, that's right."

After being shocked and deceitful by Wu Han's actions, Zhao Manxiong was now confused and said in confusion:

"...Brother Wu, what do you mean?"

The mysterious white light took action near the Peach Blossom Land, probably because of the need to melt the nuclear snow in winter, which showed great power, and also left traces of pursuit. If we just want to change the weather and cause heavy rain, Wu Han believed that small matters would not make it go viral. Therefore, Zhao Manxiong was afraid that he would not understand until his death, and that he would offend the gods and bring rain.

Remembering that some time ago, Zhao Manxiong questioned the reliability of the statement about the mysterious white light and the grassland. Wu Han was so obscenely kept silent and said:
