Chapter 628 Killing Wu Sanfeng(2/2)

The rifled gun could easily overwhelm the Vulcan Gun in terms of range and reloading speed, allowing the other trapped Ming troops to escape unscathed.

However, the traitors like Han Junqi took advantage of the terrain to make it difficult for the Xuanfu army to capture their positions. For the sake of safety, Yang Guozhu finally retreated with other Ming troops.

The coalition forces killed more than 5,000 enemies in the first battle, most of whom were Mongolian soldiers from the Eight Banners, and some were Jiannu Aha and Savage Jurchen armored soldiers. No real Jiannu Manchu soldiers were seen.

However, this achievement was already considered a great victory. The Eight Banners Mongolian soldiers were second only to the Jiannu Manchu soldiers. The Ming army had not achieved such a brilliant record in decades.

The biggest contributor to this battle was the Qin army led by He Renlong. If the Qin army had not defeated the Tatars, it would have been difficult for other generals to succeed.

The Guan Ning Army led by Wu Sangui suffered heavy losses in this battle, with more than 1,000 casualties, including more than 400 killed in the battle. His brother Wu Sanfeng also lost contact with the rebellious army. It is estimated that the situation is more serious than bad.

However, Wu Sangui's Guan Ning army beheaded more than 700 Tatars and Aha. Compared with the Ming army's previous results, this battle was considered a great victory.

Wang Tingchen led his men to cut off more than 300 heads, including Tatars, Aha and savage Jurchens. He only lost a few dozen people.

The Xuanfu army under Yang Guozhu cut off 500 heads and killed more than 1,000 people, but the heads were snatched away by friendly forces.

Yang Guozhu just shook his head and smiled at this. He did not turn his head and care about it. He knew that following Emperor Shenwu would not be short of these Tatar heads.

The worst thing happened to Li Fuming, the commander-in-chief of Baoding. The Baoding soldiers were almost wiped out. He himself was still lying unconscious in the barracks. However, Li Fu clearly cut off the head of a Tatar commander.

Gao Jie killed more than 300 Tatars. This was the first time they had fought against Jiannu and Tatars since they took refuge in the Ming Dynasty. Gao Jie himself and his men were very satisfied.

Several armies returned to the foot of the mountain and set up camp. Each unit started to light a fire to cook. After a good meal, several general soldiers gathered in Yang Guozhu's central army tent for a meeting.

Due to Li Fuming's serious injury, there were only more than 500 soldiers left in Baoding. His troops no longer participated in the war, and their positions were replaced by Ma Ke, the commander-in-chief of Shanhaiguan.

Ma Ke had 5,000 Shanhaiguan soldiers under his command, and their combat effectiveness was better than that of the Baoding soldiers, but Ma Ke was definitely not as brave as Li Fuming.

Ma Ke originally went to Rufeng Mountain with several general soldiers, but because there were some things to deal with at Shanhaiguan Pass, Ma Ke left two days late.

He did not expect that when he led the Shanhaiguan troops to Rufeng Mountain, Li Fuming's entire army would have been wiped out, and he would have to take over the task of leading the charge from Li Fuming.

Ma Ke never suffered losses when doing things, so of course he didn't want to, so he proposed to unite the troops and everyone would advance and retreat together. In order to understand the siege of Jinzhou and to avoid being surrounded and annihilated by the Jian slaves, the troops could not be divided.

With Li Fuming as an example, other general soldiers were very supportive of Ma Ke's idea. They were unwilling to hand over their backs to an untrustworthy general soldier for fear of being cheated!

If Li Fuming had not believed that Wu Sangui would rescue him in time, his Baoding soldiers would never have been defeated so miserably, and at least half of them could have escaped.

It can be said that in today's battle, except for Wu Sangui who almost killed Li Fuming, the other battles and several general soldiers cooperated very well, and there were no major problems.

I just don’t know if Wu Sangui, a famous traitor in the history of the late Ming Dynasty, will fight with the Qin army after Wu Sangui learns that his brother was killed by He Renlong’s men... I like the Ming Dynasty, and the heyday began with the prince supervising the country. Please collect it:
