Chapter 56 Qiu Hui

Why is Zheng Kezang so anxious to see Qiu Hui?

Because Qiu Hui is a legendary figure who fought against the Qing Dynasty and restored the Ming Dynasty, a little fan of Guo Xingye, and a loyal supporter of Zheng Jing. As long as he inherits the position of King Yanping, Qiu Hui will definitely be a good helper in counterattacking the Qing Dynasty.

Qiu Hui was a native of Majiao who was recruited from Chaoyang County, Guangdong. In 1664, in order to prevent the small Ming and Zheng groups from supporting Yizhou Island economically on the southeastern coast, the Qing army implemented a sea border ban and forced all residents along the coast of Guangdong and Fujian to move fifty miles away.

Enter the boundary, then push further, increasing the distance to a hundred miles.

This was a dead end for the coastal fishermen and salt people who made a living by fishing and drying salt. Qiu Hui witnessed this tragic situation and couldn't bear it. In 1666, he launched an uprising to resist the ban on sea border relocation, with more than 3,000 adherents.

He later joined Zheng Jing's command and was named "Uncle Zhongyong".

Qiu Hui has been entrenched in Dahao and other places for more than ten years, and established the "Da Ming Chaozhou Prefecture" in Dahao, opened a commercial port, developed fish and salt trade, and transferred a large amount of money and resources to Zheng Jing.

Qiu Hui was brave and good at fighting, and his warships often appeared along the coast. "They rode the tide, and no Qing soldiers could control them."

Unfortunately, in 1680, Zheng Jing's situation was over. Qiu Hui led his rebel army to fight fiercely with the Qing army in the Leikou and Niutianyang areas. The stalemate lasted for several months. Later, due to the weak strength of the troops and the surrender of some generals to the Qing, Qiu Hui and Jiang Sheng broke out at night and withdrew.

Arrive at Yizhou Island to meet up with Zheng Jing.

If Zheng Kezang had not traveled through time, Qiu Hui's ending would have been his defeat in the Penghu Sea Battle. He was unwilling to surrender to the Qing Dynasty and chose to commit suicide and die for his country.

In later generations, historians commented on him: "Although Qiu Hui was born in Caoji, he could be described as a loyal, brave and righteous knight. He followed the Zheng family and never changed his ambition. He served his life heroically, was loyal and bright, and his bravery illuminated the world."

I quickly arrived at the reception hall of Yanping Royal City. When I entered the door, I saw that Zheng Jing was drinking tea with Qiu Hui and others.

"Uncle Zhongyong, I have been friends with you for a long time, and finally I met the real person!" Zheng Kezang laughed and opened the door.

Under the command of Zheng Kezang, several wooden stakes were placed in the sand, which were the targets of grenades.

Qiu Hui was also very happy to see Zheng Kezang: "Your Highness, you have disgraced me. I am just a defeated general now."

"Uncle Zhongyong, what you said made me blush a little. Let's stop in moderation and drink tea without talking about such nonsense." Zheng Jing was a little self-aware.

While they were enjoying themselves, Ming Zheng's small group gained two more generals.

"Your Highness, this is the cement you mentioned in the newspaper. It is really strong! It is a good material for building city walls!" Qiu Hui said with emotion.

I have to say that Zheng Kezang is quite good at winning people's hearts. After this wave, not to mention being loyal, at least Qiu Hui will definitely listen to Zheng Kezang's orders in the future.

Zheng Jing was so happy that there were two happy events in one day, one was Zheng Kezang's return from a great victory, and the other was Qiu Hui's friends coming from afar.

"Victory and defeat are common matters in military affairs. With strong generals like Uncle Zhongyong here, victory beckons." Zheng Kezang was very optimistic about Qiu Hui and praised him repeatedly.

Zheng Kezang picked up a comb-like hair gadget and showed it to Qiu Hui.

"Then please don't hide your secrets, Your Royal Highness," Qiu Hui said.

"Father, Uncle Zhongyong is right. Without you, Yizhou Island would not be what it is today."

The Guards usually practice bomb dropping here, usually with non-explosive models.

Because after Qiu Hui was defeated in Niutianyang and retreated to Yizhou Island, the Qing army re-administered Dahao. The people of Hao were afraid of being implicated. Many clans with surnames rewrote their genealogies or moved their families to other places. One of the Qiu surnames moved to Xidui (

Dahao Island), changed his surname to "Qiu".

The grenadier training ground is relatively simple, just two thick stone walls, about the height of an adult, and in front of the stone walls is sand.

"By the way, Uncle Zhongyong, I heard that Dahao fish balls are a specialty. Did you bring the fish balls with you when you came here?" Zheng Kezang asked.

In this way, the joyful tea banquet diluted Qiu Hui's melancholy of defeat and escape.

When I got closer, I saw a banner hanging next to the gate: Warmly welcome Uncle Zhongyong to inspect the Guards!

Even so, more than thousands of Hao people were brutally implicated and beheaded at that time.

During the conversation, Zheng Kezang also learned that Qiu Hui did not come empty-handed this time. Many ordinary people in Dahao came with him for fear of being retaliated by the Qing army.

"Come here, Uncle Zhongyong, look carefully."

"Your Highness Jian Guo, I didn't bring the fish balls, but I brought a chef who knows how to make fish balls. I will send a cook to the palace later."

Qiu Hui stroked his beard and said: "Jian Guo, I am deeply honored to have such a big battle today."

"Your Highness, let's go quickly. I've seen news about your Guards in Dongning Daily these days. I'm very curious." Qiu Hui's eyes widened and he looked in the direction Zheng Kezang pointed.

"Uncle Zhongyong, let's go, I'll take you to see the magic weapon used by our Guards to defeat the enemy." Zheng Kezang pulled Qiu Hui straight to the grenadier training ground.

"Don't worry, Uncle Zhongyong. As long as my father is here, the people will be fine." Zheng Kezang assured him by patting his chest.

"Hahaha, that's the case, otherwise there wouldn't be so many people defecting to your father." Qiu Hui decisively boasted about Zheng Jing.

It turned out that Zheng Jing had just been showing off his son's achievements and had already told Qiu Hui and others about the victory at Zhugang.

When they reached the gate of the camp, Pan Aqiang had already led many soldiers to greet them at the gate.

"Uncle Zhongyong, ahead is the camp of our Guards." Zheng Kezang pointed to the small houses built of cement.

Zheng Kezang was so generous that Qiu Hui, who was rather thick-skinned, felt a little embarrassed.

"Uncle Zhongyong, this is the Dongning Divine Thunder. Its power has different reactions. We relied on it to defeat the Tatars."

"It's hard to say what I won in this battle. But I heard that His Highness Jian Guo achieved a great victory, and I was thinking of asking His Highness Jian Guo for advice."

In fact, they are lucky to have come across the ocean.

"This is easy to say. One day Zhongyong Bo will come to my Guards and I will share with you the secret of defeating the Tatars, ensuring that you will be victorious in every battle." Zheng Kezang was also not modest.

There are five thousand people here, which is really a good thing. People are rare and valuable, and now Zheng Kezang will not refuse anyone who comes.

"My son, please sit down and drink tea. There are so many people here today. I am very happy. I want to drink tea!"

"Uncle Zhongyong, we are short of manpower here on Yizhou Island, so I sent you over. Come and I'll offer you a cup of tea." "Your Highness, I'm serious. They are all poor people. You have to treat them well." Qiu

A cup of bitter tea enters the stomach.

Because Zheng Kezang is not wealthy enough to make a training version of the grenade.

"Jian Guo, show me quickly!" Qiu Hui said like an old naughty boy.

After saying that, Zheng Kezang quickly ignited the fuse and directed the grenade to the wooden stake.

Only a "boom" sound was heard, the grenade exploded instantly, and the huge air wave even lifted the wooden pile into the sky.

After everything calmed down, Qiu Hui stuck his head out blankly and looked at the messy sand in front of him. The wooden piles were in pieces, and some had iron sheets and nails inserted into them, which was really eye-catching.

"Artifact!"
