6. Chapter 6 A Chance
"Hey, hell, what am I doing? Now isn't the time to think about this. I still have my own things to think about!" Sean suddenly knocked on his head, bringing his thoughts back on track.
What should I do now? Exit it? Although I didn't see Ferederick's expression, I guess he wouldn't be too happy, and his agent also wanted to make money. But I was a little unwilling to withdraw. Sean didn't like to be a deserter. Although he was an extra to solve the current dilemma, he saved some money and took time to plan the future, but he did not do it, right?
But as he insisted, once some things are decided to do, they must be done as well as possible. Since the extras are doing well and after observing on the set during this period, he believes that if he has the opportunity, his performance will definitely not be worse than that of a formal actor, so why should he quit?
Why not wait any longer? Sean, who was scratching Poke's chin, thought so. Ferederick might not have spoken, but it is likely to be exaggerated. It is too...
He thought well, but reality quickly taught him a lesson.
"What a pity, if you can get this role, you might become famous in one go. Do you know, many celebrities become famous through their youth idols..." As usual, in the spare time of filming, Koeman kept talking about everything he knew about Hollywood.
If it were another time, Sean would say a few words to him no matter what, but at this moment, he was really in a bad mood.
It has been four days since the last audition, and he has received the exact news from his agent. The crew of Target Pictures' "Get Fame in One Stop" selected Randy Keitel as the leading actor. It is said that Ferederick said that David Huglis, who was in charge of the casting, had expressed his regrets to him in private. Sean did not agree with this, but... Randy Keitel should have attended that party.
Although he had expected it, Sean was still a little uncomfortable when he heard such news.
"It's okay, there will be a chance." He said this, as if answering Koeman, and as if for himself.
"Don't say that easy, Sean," Koeman sighed, then complained about something, "Well, you have a good agent, of course you don't have to worry about it, but my...if I could have been auditioned for "A One Stop Fame", I'll definitely get a role."
"Even if you want to blow the trumpet to the producer?" Sean couldn't help asking.
"As long as you can get a big role, what's the big deal about playing the trumpet?" Komanhun didn't care.
Sean was stunned at first, then frowned, but before he could speak, one of the director's assistants, a man in his thirties, who was about 5 feet 8 inches, came to them: "Hey, the director asked you to go over."
The director wants us to go over? Although he was a little surprised and puzzled, Sean walked over to the camera with the other party with Koeman, who seemed very excited.
"Shaan Koman? Very good, let me see... Go around, you come to Sean first." The director didn't say anything extra and immediately directed them.
Sean turned around twice as he said, and then made a few more poses. Then Coman did this, and the director immediately discussed with the people next to him.
Not long after, in just a few minutes, after Koeman was so excited that he could not help himself, they finally finished discussing.
"Okay, that's you, Sean, we need a tall and tall restaurant waiter temporarily. He has two lines with the male protagonist. I think you are suitable for you. Are you having any problems?" The director said it very directly.
"Well... no, sir." Sean was stunned for a moment, then agreed immediately.
"Sir Director, what about me?" Koeman asked hurriedly.
"Sorry, Koeman, I will consider you next time I have a chance." The director sent him away with a word.
Koeman wanted to beg a few more words, but the director had already called the makeup artist and costumer over and prepared to pack up Sean to the point where he needed it, without any delay, so Sean could only give him an apology look.
The plot to be filmed is not complicated. The couple, as one of the protagonists, dined in a restaurant, and their husband who likes to tell jokes made a mess. The director and producer probably thought that if a waiter had a few words to his little tit-for-tat, it might have a better comedy effect, so this paragraph was added.
Because it was a temporary start and there were not many roles, he chose one among the extras, and Sean was lucky to be selected.
There are two main lines in total. After denying the strange dishes names reported by my husband, he proposed a more inexplicable dish combination. After expressing his doubts, the husband teased him a little.
This is not a difficult task for Sean. He is a regular extra for this sitcom called "Family Reform". He is still clear about the personalities of several protagonists, and the role itself is not difficult.
"How about frying veal with grilled lobster, butter stewed chicken soup, cheese mushroom salad, and take a pepper ice cream?" He held the menu and stood up straight, but his chin was raised, his tone was squinting and rapid, fully demonstrating the impatientness hidden in his heart by the waiter.
My head tilted slightly, my eyes squinted, and the corners of my mouth curled up, and the names of the dishes were reported randomly, making me feel so funny that after the end, the director and screenwriter shouted "Hello".
"Congratulations." Koeman said this when he finished work, which was quite uncomfortable and his face was not very good-looking.
"Don't be discouraged, Koeman, there will definitely be a chance." Sean had to comfort him like this.
However, the director came over again at this time: "Hey, Sean, we are going to add some scenes in the restaurant. You performed well before, so this role is reserved for the time being. You'd better prepare and come to the set early tomorrow."
Sean was stunned again and agreed again: "No problem, sir."
If the character with lines before made him a little happy, then he is really excited now. What did that guy Ferederick say? No need for those tricks, he can still win opportunities!
Thinking of this, he couldn't help but turn to see Koman. Unlike what he imagined, Koman looked calm at this time.
"Congratulations, Sean." The other party said this.
"Thank you, Koeman, this is such an unexpected surprise." Sean couldn't help laughing, and then patted his arm, "You will definitely have a chance, Koeman, I believe that you will definitely gain after you put in so much effort."
After pausing for a while, he probably felt that he was a little too verbal, so he quickly added: "Although this is a bit arrogant, if there are still characters with lines, I will definitely recommend you to the producers."
"No need to be so troublesome. As long as you can't play, I can take over." Koeman said like a joke.
Sean laughed, not caring about it at all.
"Okay, the work has finished. How about going to have a drink together tonight?" Coman said again.
"You have to know..." Sean wanted to remind him that he was not 18 years old and could not drink in public.
"Come on, Sean, this is not a difficult task. You can get a role easily. Shouldn't you celebrate? Come on, don't you mother-in-law." Koeman waved his hand indifferently.
"Okay." Sean thought for a while, and finally agreed, "When the work is finished in the evening, how about going?"
"You're going to the studio of "The Deadly College"? You already have a role, man." Koeman looked a little surprised. "They have so many extras and don't care if we're going."
"I don't want to be held accountable by the crew there, even if the possibility is very small," Sean said with a smile. "Remember what I told you? Everything must be done to the best you can do."
You have to be down-to-earth in doing things. Sean has always insisted on this, not to mention that he only got a small role. So, even if he takes a small step, he will not be complacent, and he still needs to do what he should do.
Of course, overtime pay is also a reason. I have said before that the salary of overtime is 1.5 times that of usual. Although I have solved my life problems at the moment, I have not saved much. As Sean, who was a Chinese in his previous life, the idea that he had to save a little at any time is basically engraved in the depths of his soul, so he will take time to go to some movie crews to serve as temporary actors from time to time.
The TV series crew is relatively stable, especially in 1998, major TV stations mainly focused on sitcom dramas, and all kinds of scenes can be built in the studio, so overtime is generally not the case. Unless in special circumstances, they usually go to and from get off work on time. Because of this, extras who serve as backgrounds are basically long-term, just change clothes or put on different makeup in different scenes.
Movies are one-time transactions, and sometimes they have to go out for outdoor scenes, so there are relatively more overtime work, especially movies that require re-shooting, and "Deadly College" is the last one.
The film was filmed four months ago, but in the later stages of the production, director Robert Rodgliz thought that some things were inappropriate. After communicating with the producer, he summoned some actors to reshoot certain shots. But the problem is that the schedule of the film has been scheduled, and it is at the end of this year, so he was very in a hurry, so he started filming overtime.
This movie is a science fiction film, which means that a small town was invaded by aliens, and the school teachers were the first to suffer, but was eventually wiped out by a group of high school students with drugs.
It sounds a bit nonsense, but Americans like to watch this type of thing. As long as the director can control the plot and the actors can perform well, there is no need to worry about no one entering the theater.
Sean has watched a lot of movies in his past life. His previous life was to understand boredom, and this life... also to understand boredom. Well, watching movies is one of the important entertainment activities for Americans and a good place to date. Unfortunately, movies I have watched in my past life have forgotten everything. I want to find out the memory with sufficient excitement. For example, the sensational movie "Titanic" last year, and I have never learned to write a screenwriter in my previous life, otherwise it would be good to write a few scripts to make money.
