32. Chapter 32 Let me tell you what deception is!

"This is the information you gave me. What else can I use besides name and age? Did you overjoy in bed last night?" Frederick shook the information in his hand and shouted to the woman in front of him.

"I said before that I don't have much information here, you have to stick to it yourself, Fred." Anna Gordon shrugged calmly, then turned around and left without taking his screams in his eyes.

Damn woman! Frederick grinded his teeth in annoyance, but said nothing, and walked towards his seat.

"I made such a big fuss on the first day after the New Year holiday. You really have it, Fred." A guy next to me who was watching a joke made a joke and then got a middle finger.

Back in his compartment, the desk was still messy, the documents were scattered everywhere, and a lot of paper balls were piled up, and even the coffee that was sprinkled on a corner of the table was not wiped away. Frederick couldn't help but sigh. While others were on vacation, he was still busy, making phone calls, looking for information, and finding connections. Although he also attended some parties, it was all for... that damn guy.

So far, he has designed several sales plans, including finding ways to have an interview with Harvey Weinstein or Anthony Mingla, even if it only takes five minutes. But after careful consideration of these plans, there is no one to take action. Sean's qualifications are still too shallow, so shallow that he can't take it out.

Frederick found out clearly that Mingla had already designated several actors for the leading actors of the movie, and they had already tried the film, but the pay was not agreed. What's more, Mingla had been a screenwriter for ten years before she started directing movies, and she prefers those down-to-earth people - it's not that Sean is not such a person, but the other party inevitably thinks like this, so he dismissed the route of direct recommendation.

"This guy always gives people a difficult problem and always comes up with such crazy ideas. What should I do?" Frederick grabbed his head and sighed. If he couldn't recommend it directly, he would not receive any attention at all.

It was the first time he had nowhere to start after entering the industry for so long, but even when he was sighing, he was still full of fighting spirit. For a miracle? Maybe, it doesn't matter anymore. What's important is that the holiday has ended. If you don't seize the time, there will be no chance.

"Let me think about it, let me think about it, what else can I do..." Frederick said as he looked through various information again.

After repeating this, he rubbed his face several times, drank a cup of coffee, his eyes suddenly fell on a character information. He picked it up and looked carefully. After thinking about it, a light flashed through his heart. Frederick immediately stood up and walked out, calling his cell phone while walking.

--------

"Hey, Dax, here." Frederick waved to the person coming out of the office building.

"Is there anything wrong, Fred?" Dex Roman walked over with an unexpected look on his face, "I said it only takes ten minutes."

"I know, I know," Frederick agreed, "You are an assistant to Anthony Mingella on the crew of "The Genius Ripley", right? What's going on with the hero? Or if you say it clearly, can you consider my client?"

"Your client?" Roman frowned.

"You've seen Sean Don, a very good young man." Frederick reminded.

Roman turned his head and thought about it before recalling it, then showed a surprised look: "Are you kidding? He played a role in a TV series and didn't have much fame. How could he get into the crew's consideration?"

"Yes, I know, but he is a very promising young man. Anyway, the male lead has not reached an agreement, so why can't we expand the scope?" Frederick lobbyed.

"You know exactly where the selection range of male leads we have designated is, Fred," Roman seemed to laugh a little. "Okay, I know you are optimistic about that young man, but he is too young and has no qualifications at all. Instead of asking me to come out to give him a few independent movies to practice acting. That's the right way to do it."

Then he patted his arm and turned around and walked towards the office building.

Frederick closed his eyes and sighed helplessly. After pinching the bridge of his nose, he suddenly turned around and stepped forward a few steps, put his hands on Roman's shoulder and pulled him to the wall.

"Damn, I've already made it clear what you want to do." Roman shouted in annoyance.

"I know Mingla has been asking Miramax to invest additional investment, but Weinstein disagrees. They are still in a stalemate," Frederick said in a low voice as he looked around, "Do you want Weinstein to agree to invest additional investment?"

"What do you... want to say?" Roman asked hesitantly.

"I ask you, Dax, do you want to help Mingla force Weinstein to invest additionally?" Frederick said one by one.

Roman didn't speak, but was obviously a little moved. The director had more than one assistant. If he could promote this, it would be self-evident how much benefit he could get.

"You can persuade Grah to hold another audition for new actors, and give a look like 'If there is a suitable candidate, then let him play the leading role'. Then put pressure on Miramax and tell them in this way: Look, because you are unwilling to invest, we have to start new players. If the movie fails, you will be unshirkable!" Frederick said quickly.

"This is too rash and too scammers, and it is impossible to succeed." Roman said subconsciously, but he also knew that what the other party said was just a rough idea and that if he had to plan carefully, it would be completely operational.

So, Frederick stopped talking and just looked at him.

"Well, what do you want?" Roman had to compromise.

"Give Sean an audition, and," Frederick paused, "an opportunity to have an interview with Anthony Mingera."

"I can't guarantee, Fred." Roman replied with a deep thought, "If Minggra agrees to cast again, the first one will be fine, but the second one will be hard to say. Also, how old is Sean now?"

"At 23, as long as you do your best." Frederick let go of his hand.

Not only did he know Dax Roman, he also knew what kind of person he was and what position he was now, so he thought of breaking through here.

Roman was a little ambitious, but at the same time he was very cautious. It was difficult to impress without sufficient benefits, but he usually did what he agreed to. Originally, Ferederick wanted to work hard to get it, but it turned out that this was impossible, so he finally thought of Roman's position in the crew of "The Genius Ripley" and took out the method.

Even so, hope is slim, but it is much better than before, and there are still many things to prepare for.

"Shawn, how are you doing?" After returning to his car, Frederick immediately made another call, "There will be news for two days at most... Well, it will depend on you at that time... By the way, there is something I want to remind you, if they ask about your age, remember to answer 23 years old... Because 18 is too young, the crew will not consider it at all... It doesn't matter, I will modify some of the information now, and the crew will generally not check the original information... No, no, no... Hey, wait... Listen to me..."

Listening to the words over there, Frederick in the car rolled his eyes and raised his voice: "Listen, Sean, I'll tell you what deception is. When you fail and when you are in trouble, the media will turn out all your scandals, even if you lift the girl's skirt at the age of four. What you do now is deception! If you succeed, you become famous, you have great value, they will turn out these things and praise them. What you do now is clever and clever! Don't think too much about the moral integrity of those guys, they are just a bunch of bitches, and when you throw dollars into their faces, they will put in any position you want!"

After breathing a sigh of relief, Frederick closed the phone and looked at the office building not far away before starting the car. It was the office building of Disney Studios, where Miramax's office was.

------

Meanwhile, a dispute is taking place within Miramax’s Los Angeles office.

"Harvey, wait, Harvey! Wait, Harvey Weinstein, where are you going?" Anthony Mingla, who was scratching her bald head, caught up with the middle-aged fat man who was striding forward with anger.

"Ha, my dear Anthony, it's a coincidence to meet you here." Seeing that he couldn't escape, Weinstein immediately put on a smile.

"Don't tell me anything, I've been waiting for you here for a few days. You can't not know. Are you going to just hide?" Mingla asked unhappily.

"Well, Anthony, can I do something for you?" Weinstein spread his hands.

"Additional investment." Mingla said it straightforwardly.

"Apart from this." Weinstein also refused without any ambiguity.

"Hey, I just need to add another $5 million." Mingla looked extremely despised at his "stingy" attitude.

"We agreed at the beginning, Anthony, you should be careful in your calculations, rather than asking for additional investment before you start shooting." Weinstein shrugged.

"But you didn't recommend Philip Hoffman, nor did you recommend Gwyneth Paltrow and Cate Blanchett. Their pay alone cost about one-third!" Mingla said with some angrily and depressed, "I can't even pay the pay for the hero I want!"

"But don't you agree with their acting skills?" Weinstein said slowly, "and you also recommended Jude Law and Jack Davenport, aren't you?"

Mingla stopped talking, just stared at Weinstein, as if she wouldn't leave if she didn't say it clearly today.

"Actually, it is not impossible to invest additionally..." Weinstein suddenly said this, but was rejected before he could even leave it.

"That's impossible." Mingla said, frowning tightly. He knew very well that the other party's condition was to have the final editing rights.

Previously, because of the great success of "The Patient in the UK" two years ago, Mingla easily got the final editing rights when she found Miramax to invest in "The Genius Ripley", but after that, Harvey Weinstein regretted it and wanted to take it back. Mingla naturally would not agree, even if it was related to whether there was additional investment.
