10. Chapter 10 Not so easy

"Don't forget, Fred, your guy is just a newcomer, and this price is enough for a newcomer."

"Come on, Eric, your price is just sending a beggar away."

"Don't be so greedy, Fred. Greed is the original sin."

"To hell with original sin, all I know is that "Everybody Loves Raymond" is CBS's most-watched TV series right now. The advertising fee for each episode is millions, and they are not willing to spend a few more cents."

Go hire a desperately needed actor."

…………

Listening to the faint quarrel coming from the trailer, Sean, who was staying outside, shook his head in amusement, and simply walked away, leaving everything to his agent.

Looking around, he saw that because he was filming a sitcom, most of the crew members were in the studio, which made him feel more relaxed. He recalled that Eric Reese, the screenwriter and producer of this TV series, asked him to call his agent.

When people came over, Sean couldn't help but want to smile bitterly at the various looks from the extras around him.

But then again, who is to say that none of them can speak Italian? From this point of view, if you have a skill, it should be relatively easy to open up the situation. Thinking of this, Sean couldn't help but recall the past in high school, but he was very

Quickly sighed and threw these things out of his mind.

Soon, the trailer door was opened, and Reese and Frederick came out one after another.

"Boy, you have a good agent. You'd better be qualified for this remuneration." Eric patted his shoulder and strode towards the studio without waiting for an answer. He was quite impressive.

"Your role is small but important, and it's only one episode, so the salary is $3,000," Frederick said at this time, then paused, "I have to say, you're lucky, Sean."

"Is it just luck?" Sean asked with a raised eyebrow, a hint of pride on his lips.

"Okay, you did a good job," Frederick didn't take it to heart, "but this is just the beginning. I have dealt with Eric Reese, and he is not an easily satisfied person."

"I know that since I finally got a role, I must do my best." Sean put away his smile and nodded, and then strode towards the studio.

"Sean," Frederick suddenly stopped him, frowned and opened his mouth, as if he wanted to say something, but in the end he just waved his hand, "Come on!"

"Thank you." Sean replied, feeling a little different about his agent than before.

Back at the studio, the crew had already begun to get busy under Eric's urging. After seeing him come in, the other party immediately threw the script over.

"You have an hour to familiarize yourself with the script. Boy, you'd better show your strength. Although that guy Fred praised you to the sky, don't forget that we haven't officially signed the contract yet, so if you can't satisfy me,

If you do, you can get out at any time." Eric Reese said this, although he was smiling, he smiled very badly.

"I won't let that happen, sir." Sean shrugged nonchalantly, then found a place to sit down and started to read the script.

"Everybody Loves Raymond" is a sitcom suitable for all ages. In fact, almost all TV series currently broadcast on the four major public television stations are of this type.

This TV series broadcast on CBS has very good ratings and is considered one of the most successful sitcoms, but it is still inferior to NBC's signature "Friends", which Sean in his previous life knew and liked.

It's a pity that his memory was only brought back after "Friends" was aired, otherwise he might have made a fortune with his script - okay, I'm kidding. In short, playing an important role in such a TV series, even if

Just one episode is a good start for newcomers.

It was actually not difficult for Sean to get this role. The entire TV series revolves around a family living in Long Island, New York. The male protagonist Raymond Barone works in a sports newspaper and his wife is a full-time housewife. They have three

Children, a four-year-old daughter and two-year-old twins.

This is a typical middle-class family with a harmonious atmosphere. Although there are occasional quarrels between the husband and wife, it does not affect their daily life. Therefore, the main laughter comes from the people around them, such as father-in-law, mother-in-law, neighbors and friends.

For example, Sean needs to play a young Italian-American player who is very popular in the NCAA and is interviewed by Raymond.

It's easy to grasp, at least in Sean's opinion. Reese's arrangement of such a role is nothing more than relying on language barriers to create comic effects. As long as he can express the feeling of talking like a chicken and a duck, there will be no problem.

After all, this is a sitcom, which is quite similar to a stage play. There is a certain degree of exaggeration in the performance. If you can grasp that degree, you can grasp the role.

Just as Sean was experiencing and thinking, a burst of noise came from the door of the studio. Looking up, Eric Reese was frowning and talking impatiently to a middle-aged man.

Soon, Reese walked over angrily and waved to him: "Come here, Sean."

He didn't go into details, and Sean didn't ask any more questions. After he greeted a few more people, they followed him to the trailer outside, which was the one he negotiated with Frederick before.

Then, at the other party's signal, Sean and... probably another middle-aged assistant performed the lines.

The scene is not long. The protagonist Raymond interviews the protagonist, asking questions and answering them. Because of the language barrier, English is mixed with Italian, so the questions and answers are completely different. However, both of them looked serious, and they didn't react until the end.

This creates a comic effect.

Sean, who noticed something, tried his best to get himself into the state and express the imaginary scenes with words, expressions and body language. It was not bad - at least that's what he thought.

"Did you see it? This is the problem with the newcomer. Although he works hard, he still lacks something." The middle-aged man said after the end.

"Really? Why do I have a different opinion than you, Jeremy Stevenson?" Reese called him by his name without politeness. "Yes, he is a newcomer, but I don't think this performance has any impact."

What's the problem?"

"Can you please not bring personal conflicts to work, Eric?" Stevenson frowned.

"You are the one who brings personal conflicts to work, right?" Reese asked sarcastically.

"Well, I won't argue with you, how about we let David be the judge?" Stevenson shrugged.

"You want David to decide? No problem, then let David make the decision." Reese agreed immediately.

Then, the group of people got out of the trailer again.

"Wait for me here." Reese said to Sean, then got on the special battery car in the studio area and drove towards the direction of the office area.

Although it was a bit baffling, Sean still noticed something different from it, especially after asking others that the middle-aged man was Jeremy Steven, another screenwriter and producer of "Everybody Loves Raymond"

After Mori, it was basically certain that she couldn't help but feel a little uneasy.

The wait lasted a full two hours. It was already afternoon. It took a lot of time to ask Frederick to come over for negotiation, so the filming of the crew was almost finished two hours later.

Seeing the people filing out of the studio, especially some of the extras who were glancing towards him intentionally or unintentionally, with gloating eyes, Sean's uneasiness became more and more intense.

"You're actually still here?" When there were fewer and fewer people in the studio, and it was obviously time to get off work, a voice reached his ears.

Turning around, he saw that the assistant who had played with him before had come outside the studio again and looked at him with a half-smiling expression. Sean was a little confused and didn't know what to say, so he had to remain silent.

's shrugged.

"You'd better leave first. It's already off work. They usually have to argue for several days." The other party then said this again.

Sean couldn't help but sigh in his heart. Seeing that the opportunity was already in hand, why did he encounter this situation again? Feeling a little depressed, he was about to get up and leave, but suddenly stopped his movements again, wait!

A flash of light flashed through my mind. If I remember correctly, the assistant in front of me should be Stevenson's!

"Do you want to stay here until tomorrow morning?" As if seeing his hesitation, the other party immediately urged him, but there was a hint of impatience in his tone.

In addition, there was a hint of condescension hidden in his expression, which Sean didn't like very much.

"Mr. Rees asked me to wait for him here." He replied.

"Then just wait." This answer obviously made the other party very unhappy. After snorting, he turned around and left without looking back. The figure behind him seemed to say: Idiot.

Sean frowned, but he sat there without moving. After more than half an hour, everyone in the studio was almost gone, and they were about to close the studio. Eric, who was obviously angry?

Reese hurried back.

After seeing Sean sitting there, he was stunned for a moment, seeming a little surprised, but then he didn't show too many emotions, just waved his hand: "You can go back now, Sean, but remember tomorrow

Come on time in the morning."

"Okay, sir." Sean didn't say much, but his brows furrowed deeper, and he could hear an obvious hint of gritted teeth in his tone.

As if to confirm his words, as soon as he drove the car onto the street, the pager rang. He picked it up and saw that it was the phone number of the agent Frederick.

Ryman Cafe is located at 45 Dentry Street. Although it is located at the intersection of a well-connected street, there are not many vehicles coming and going, and the price is moderate, making it a popular place in Hollywood.

Sean and Frederick met here last time, and naturally they wouldn't choose another place this time. It's just that their conversation wasn't pleasant last time. I don't know what the conversation will be like this time.

"Bruce Willis was drinking water at the time and almost squirted out. Although he covered his mouth in time, it still spilled a lot, so everyone laughed out loud because of his funny appearance..." Sitting on a parasol

Below, looking at the sun that has turned westward, Frederick said some interesting things, but Sean sitting in front of him always looked uninterested.

"Okay, Fred, let's get down to business. It's a little late." After the joke was over, he finally spoke.
