Some people say that the maneuverability of the Zero fighter is not very superior? Didn’t it be shot down by the US military in the end? The reason for this is actually without saying it, and once you say it, everyone will understand.

The Zero, which was advocated by the Japanese as a universal fighter, did use its high maneuverability with a small turning radius at the beginning of World War II, and could flexibly turn somersaults to attack by means of back-circling, slaughtering a large number of American fighters. It turns out that the high maneuverability of the Zero Type is based on low speeds. The most fatal thing is that when the zero-type is under negative acceleration conditions, that is, when the engine is decelerating, it is particularly prone to return oil and shut down, which is the biggest disadvantage of the floating carburetor it uses.

The US military suddenly realized that the combination of Zero is always luring US fighters to fight at low speed! The J-5 has actually improved a lot in operation. The MiG 15 in the Korean War was the real Prince of Spiral. 70% of the MiG 15 crashes in the Korean War were not caused by air combat, but by spirals. This spiral is not the patent of J-5. All jets in the world have this habit. Until today, many accidents in the air force of various countries in the world have entered the spiral every year. Therefore, the modification of spiral state is a compulsory course for experienced fighter pilots. What pilots are most afraid of during training is to do spiral modification training, for fear that they will fall into this terrible self-axis motion and cannot be modified.
