The twenty-eighth chapter pilot, rush transport, naval commander

【28】Pilot, rushing, naval commander

Jilin Tonghua Airport.

The winter in the north is always particularly cold, and the boundless snow fields also seem empty and quiet. The villages in the distance look like earth buns floating on the snow at first glance, very cute.

At the airport of Tonghua Lao Aviation School, the snow had been leveled by teachers and students and comrades in the army. The runway was a bit simple, and there were still snow slags in some places, so many comrades were meticulously sweeping and scratching with bamboo brooms.

At this moment, the second generation of New China pilots selected from the country are gathered here. They are all from the army and are carefully selected according to these four conditions.

First, you must be a member of the Communist Party of China;

Second, cadres at or above the level must be ranked;

Third, you must be brave in war;

Fourth, good physical fitness.

Such high requirements destined to their extraordinary mission.

The Air Force considered this way, and there were so many jet fighters all at once, including J-5, subsonic, and J-6, which were supersonic fighters. The number and mass of jet fighters increased explosively, from one jet fighter, reaching as many as 1,203! This jumping development is so fierce that it tightens the nerves of the entire Air Force.

Therefore, the Air Force leadership decided to greatly increase the number of pilots to be selected in the next 150 pilots, and the original mission was to recruit 150 pilots in 1949. With the flapping of Xiaoqiang's butterfly wings, the Air Force carried out a supplementary recruitment of pilots by the end of 1949, with an astonishing number of recruitment of 1,600! At the same time, the forces of various departments were drawn to form 8 new aviation schools.

When this plan was launched by the Air Force Command, everyone in the old aviation school was shocked. They were full of confidence in the future of China's aviation industry, and felt that they were under great pressure and had many difficulties.

As early as after the Northeast was liberated in 1945, our army established the Northeast Old Aviation School in Tonghua. At that time, more than 30 aviation technical cadres including Wang Bi and Chang Qiankun rushed to Tonghua from Yan'an, and worked hard with comrades from the Northeast Bureau. After several years of unremitting efforts, they used various old-fashioned aircraft and equipment collected to train 126 outstanding pilots in nearly four years under difficult conditions.

It took nearly four years for the training of 126 people. How long will it take for the training of 1,600 people?

At that time, there were many problems in aviation schools, and a lot of difficulties needed to be solved. Not only were the training aircraft in hand old, but there were no complete sets of trainers. You should know that the training of pilots needed to start from a junior trainer, upgrade to an intermediate trainer, and then use advanced trainer aircraft to train. It is very risky to skip the first two steps and go directly to the higher trainer aircraft.

However, the old aviation school had only 30 advanced trainers seized from the Japanese army. Moreover, these 30 Japanese Type 99 higher education aircraft were incomplete. After the North China People's Liberation Army seized these aircraft, it parked at the edge of the airport and did not go to take care of it. Some ordinary people came to see this situation and ran to smash the canopy hood with hoes, dig out the timer on the dashboard of the aircraft, and took it home as an alarm clock. Some villagers simply unloaded the tires of the aircraft and put them on their own carriages to make wheels... and other such behaviors led to the fact that these aircraft were finally received by the aviation school.

Chinese soldiers are the smartest and most able to overcome adverse conditions. At that time, the students of the old aviation school had two magic weapons, hemp rope and an alarm clock. Why do you use these two things? Let me tell you that if you don’t have a timer, you can tie the alarm clock to your legs as a timer. The hemp rope is a seat belt, which is used to tie yourself into the cockpit of the plane before taking off! Ejection seats? What is that? The students of the old aviation school said they had never heard of it. Parachute bags? You are kidding, all these planes are tied to the end, and I have to control them to the end, maybe I can pull them up at the last moment.

At that time, the airline equipment was so inconceivable that it was often the first time an airplane landed, and it was quickly removed from the propeller and put it on another plane without propellers. The landing aircraft pushed it aside and waited for the engine to cool down. The airplane was actually pumping the tires of the aircraft actually used a bicycle pump, and several people lined up to fight.

If you think this is sad enough, then there is something even more crazy - there is no aviation fuel! So you use gasoline instead, and in the end, it is not enough gasoline, and you have to use alcohol instead! This safety factor is really... Anyway, you just wait for the engine to stop at a high altitude! Didn't stop this time? You are lucky!

These difficulties and hardships were later described as jokes by these old students, and they were not afraid at all when they spoke, as if they were not the person involved. If the element of creating an ace pilot is courage and experience, then the previous item will never be lacking in Chinese pilots.

In short, the material conditions at that time were difficult and difficult to describe one by one.

At that time, the training basically depends on the teacher's explanation. After everyone can memorize it and answer it carefully, okay, the instructor will ask everyone if they dare to fly.

Do you dare? You are kidding. I was recommended by the army to fly the plane. I was about to touch my hand, so you asked me if I dare. Come on, let's try two fights and one, do you think I dare? None of these battle heroes who have chosen thousands of choices are cowards.

Who among these passionate Chinese men dare not fly? So the flight started on board. Statistically, after the ten pilots from the old aviation school were trained, nine of them were left, and that young heroic soul would leave us forever.

Now, the task of these first-generation pilots in the New China who have started their training is to quickly get started with the operation of new aircraft, and then quickly bring out a group of pilots who can fly new aircraft with the old.

First of all, the old birds need to master the J-Colio Fifth, which is the first time in the history of our army to test a jet.

In order to keep the secret of these new aircraft, the Air Force placed the flight training of J-5 and J-6 at Beidu Nanyuan Airport. The new students still rushed to Tonghua Aviation School for enlightenment flight training.

At Beidu Nanyuan Airport, all pilots of a flight brigade carefully selected from existing pilots are visiting J-College 5. Captain Wang Hai has just learned the data of this "national treasure" model and is introducing the situation to everyone.

These treasures of New China and heroic pilots looked at Wang Hai in a hurry, listening to every word he said intently. When they received a mission and asked to "master the mastery of flying the first batch of Chinese jets", they were excited and nervous. They didn't know what a jet was like.

Therefore, when everyone saw J Sect 5, they were all stunned.

The ground crew pulled the oil cloth in front of them, and the silver-white all-aluminum body of Wuye suddenly reflected the sunlight, shakingly piercing everyone's eyes.

"This plane has no propellers!" a pilot exclaimed.

"Is this a fully aluminum fuselage? There is no wood!" another pilot shouted like a match with him.

"Instructor, why did the wings of this plane go to the back? How could it fly if it didn't stretch out?"

"Don't talk, listen to the instructor." An older pilot spoke.

"Hello everyone, I am everyone's instructor, my name is Wang Hai.

Like everyone else, I have just come into contact with this secret fighter. It is the highest secret of our country and was transported secretly through special means. It can be called a national treasure. Everyone has recited the confidentiality regulations before, so I will not repeat them.

According to the data I have in hand, we will explore the operation and driving of this aircraft together, and we must complete the tasks assigned by the Central and Yang Military Commission in the shortest time."

After finishing his opening remarks, Wang Hai first answered everyone’s questions:

"Let me tell you briefly. This jet has no propeller. It relies on a turbojet engine. It first sucks in air and then burns it with oil in the combustion chamber, and then sprays these high-temperature airflows from the tail of the machine, so that the thrust is obtained.

I guess the jet flies fast and the flat wings are not available, so the wings are deliberately sent to the back, causing a slant..."

So through a day of explanation and exploration, according to the instructions, the pilots and ground crews basically figured out the usage methods and data of all the airborne equipment of J-College V. However, there is still a way to go before flying into the sky.

But we firmly believe that these innocent people under the leadership of the Communist Party have no difficulties that cannot be overcome. History has proved this again and again.

The equipment for the construction of the Air Force overhaul plant is being loaded on a train to Shenyang. Beidu Railway Station is now under heavy control. The vehicles are back and forth between the warehouse and the Beidu Station transportation entrance, and soldiers are guarding every intersection on the road.

After the overhaul plant equipment is transported, there are still equipment for building chemical refineries waiting to be transported to Shandong. It can be said that since Xiaoqiang arrived, the People's Liberation Army's transportation team has never been seen. There are too many supplies, and each equipment must be classified and numbered. There are very few lifting machinery in this era, and it depends largely on manpower. It can be said that all the builders of the 491 project have no distinction between leaders and masses, and everyone has rushed to the front line.

To be the exception, there is only Xiaoqiang, the grandson. After dinner, the kid took a bus back to the warehouse area, picked up two large cardboard boxes from the warehouse, and asked the drivers Liu Zhen and Dongzi to stuff the things in the cardboard boxes into the car, patted their butts and ran away.

The carton is filled with LeK plastic fresh-keeping boxes, and the box is filled with various snacks.

Before Xiaoqiang came back, he made a major purchase in the supermarket in 2010. After tearing off the packaging, he filled more than 100 boxes. I wonder what Yu Feng would feel when he saw this box of plastic fresh-keeping boxes.

As soon as he arrived at the door of his house, Xiaoqiang guessed that there were guests at home. So, there were two guards standing at the door.

"It's so late, who's coming?" Xiaoqiang thought about it and ordered Dongzi and driver Liu Zhen to move the things in the car in. He quickly went in and took a look.

As soon as he entered the yard, the guest who received the notification rushed out of Xiaoqiang's living room and walked straight to Xiaoqiang. He looked at the person who came. His two sword eyebrows were erect, but his eyes were curved and smiling, which made people feel like they wanted to get close to him at first sight, and they were very friendly.

"Hello Comrade Cao Xiaoqiang! I am Xiao Jingguang." This kind man spoke very quickly and told his own way.

Xiaoqiang knew what was going on as soon as he heard this. Isn’t this great man the first naval commander of the New China General Xiao Jinguang? Then the purpose of his visit to me...

As expected, after a few greetings between Commander Xiao Qiang, he pulled Xiao Qiang out of his house without saying a word and headed straight to the Office of the Changqiao Military Commission on the west side of Beihai Park where the Navy Preparatory Committee is located.

Just in the car, Commander Xiao seized the time to introduce Xiaoqiang.

It turned out that the Military Commission issued a telegram in December 1949 to transfer Xiao Jingguang, commander and political commissar of the 12th Corps, to form a naval leadership organization. General Xiao, who received the task, did not dare to delay at all and immediately entered Beijing at night.

General Xiao met the chairman when he arrived in Beidu and was recruited as one of the participants in the 491 project. As soon as he started working here, he encountered many difficulties.

What's going on?

In a nutshell, there are no warships!

In the Daiwan, since the Government Affairs Council headed by Yan Xishan was pieced together in June 1949, it has blocked the southeast coast of our country, intending to destroy our economy. It has announced to countries around the world that in the above sea areas, "all foreign ships are strictly prohibited from entering" and "all overseas business transportation will be stopped."

With the successive liberation of the southeastern coastal provinces and cities in China, the area where the Kuomintang government implemented maritime blockades was gradually expanded, actually including all coastal ports, offshore waterways and all islands they could control.

The Kuomintang government's blockade and destruction measures adopted by the southeast coast were to lay out mines at the estuary of the Yangtze River. On June 11, 1949, the Kuomintang's Central Daily News reported gloatingly: "Puhai's production will become increasingly paralyzed..."

Second, more than 20 ships were dispatched to patrol and blockade, and any ships that broke through the blockade line were attacked or detained.

The third is to collect pirates with small boats and let them scatter their activities to rob and destroy seas.

Fourth, we continuously dispatched aircraft to bomb the coastal economy and military important areas, destroying various military and industrial facilities, disrupting people's hearts and killing the people. The bombing was mainly aimed at the People's Navy ships, and they threatened: "Encrypt them all without waiting for them to go to sea!" For example, from April 26 to September 24, 1949, the nine warships that had just revolted from the Kuomintang Navy's Second Fleet include "Hui'an", "Jian", "Taiyuan", "Andong", "Yongsui" and "Chutong" were blown up by the Kuomintang aircraft. In addition, there was another "Civil Rights" ship that had just revolted.

As the ports and waterways were blocked by the Kuomintang, the domestic and foreign trade of New China was greatly affected. The shipping from Fujian, Zhejiang to Nanyang, Hong Kong and Macao was once interrupted. Due to the unsafe sea routes to Qingdao, Puhai and other places, some foreign ships had to unload goods in some remote ports with extremely small throughput, resulting in a large backlog of materials and unable to circulate. In order to carry out necessary foreign trade, the people's government reluctantly rented foreign ships at high prices due to extremely tight funds, and paid a total of 175 billion yuan in rent per month, which is RMB 17.5 million. These foreign ships are still detained and attacked by the Kuomintang navy from time to time.

Under the blockade and looting of the Kuomintang navy and pirates, the fishery production in New China also suffered significant losses. Among the more than 1.948 million people directly engaged in fishery production along the coast, more than 500,000 people in Fujian and Zhejiang provinces alone were unable to go out to sea to catch fish! More than 2,000 fishing boats were robbed! More than 10,000 fishermen were captured!

At this time, Commander Xiao had less than 10 warships available, and they were all old gunboats. It was really hard for a skillful woman to cook without rice. In desperation, he found the chairman, hoping to import warships to solve the urgent problem.
