12. Lintao City Covenant

Chiling Sun and Moon Mountain, the passage on the mountain is the wind vent that connects the north and south lands. Once there is wind and snow, it will form a beast-like roar. The wind is so strong that ordinary mules and horses cannot stand on it at all. They can only travel in spring and summer for a few short months every year, and even the troops stationed here will be deeply affected by wind disasters. Therefore, Xifan built a castle in the east of Fengkou. This castle is the very famous "Stone Castle City" in history. Xifan also calls it Tiedian Mountain. This castle is on three sides of the fort, with only one side with narrow roads leading to the foot of the mountain. Shang Qixin'er personally led the two thousand most relied troops and horses, and retreated here before.

There were another five or six thousand people scattered in Damomen, Shudun, Wanxiu and other fortresses further south of Chiling, which were also the so-called nine-curve place of the Yellow River.

In Shanzhou, Shang Qixin'er still had three thousand soldiers and was stationed in Tulou Mountain and Xingsu River, a hundred miles west of Shanzhou.

In Guzhou, Shang Qixin'er did not arrange troops, but just accommodated more than a thousand Western-French prisoners who had escaped from the "Huangshuitou Massacre" of the Xiongqi Army, all of which were frightened.

Such a military arrangement means that Shang Qixin'er has no intention of defending Hehuang at all. His best plan now is to be able to defend the gateway of Riyue Mountain and then control the old Tuyuhun land in Qinghai Lake. In the future, he will still have his place on the chessboard of the Tang and Tibet competition.

Even so, when he learned that the Tang cavalry had entered the Huangshui River in large numbers, Shang Qixin'er was both angry and desperate. He found the previous secret envoy Lietuomi and cursed him, saying that you have reached an agreement with Gao Yue, why didn't Gao Yue go to fight Shang Jiezan from Hexi first, but was the first to fight Hehuang?

The entire situation could no longer be controlled. The Xifan people in Shanzhou and the Han bureaucratic landlords who originally naturalized Zanpu could not help but escape to Chiling. However, Chiling Chiling was named because it was bare and had no grass. How could these thousands of people and more livestock survive here? So after Shang Qixin'er got angry, she instructed the group of people to settle along the pass of Sun and Moon Mountain to the Jiuqudi.

But soon new news came to Shang Qixiner's ears: the thousands of cavalry who launched a large-scale attack on Lintao were not Tang army armor, but they were holding frog flags and red lotus flags on white background. "Is it the troops of Shang Jiezan and Ma Chongying?" Now, Shang Qixiner felt even more uncomfortable. He stomped his feet and said, "We were all fooled by Gao Yue!"

I have to pick up the troops on the other side of Tulou Mountain - so Shang Qixin'er led 500 elite cavalry to pass Huangyuan and headed straight for Tulou Mountain.

At this moment, Shang Jiezan and Ma Chongying's cavalry had easily captured Lintao. When Gao Yue and Moudi led the brigade's successors to this point, they said: "From Lintao west to Shancheng, it's only 150 miles away. After the entire army has finished cooking, they will continue to mount their horses to attack Shancheng."

Lintao City surrounded by snow-capped mountains and Huangshui River, the Tang army, the Fan army and Xiongqi army of the servants were each divided according to the battalion, and then digging the trunk, chopping wood, making fire to cook. The Tang army mainly ate corn, rice and wheat rice, and the salt and jerky soup and pickles brought by the pickles. In the steaming hot, everyone took off their armor and rolled them up, put them behind them, holding pottery bowls and bamboo chopsticks in their hands, and the sound of dinging and scraping food resounded throughout the Huangshui River.

The surrounding Venetian Han and Wen Hou and the people all rushed to join us. Many people knelt on the ground to warmly welcome the arrival of the Tang army. The old people even cried loudly, saying that they didn't want to see the heavenly soldiers coming again on their lifetime. After we fell, Xifan did not allow us to wear Tang people's clothes, so we hid in the cellars and walls at home. We wore them secretly during festivals, looking at the east side while crying and offering sacrifices, and tears were all dried up...

Gao Yue was surrounded by his elders. He also burst into tears when he listened to their crying and said loudly that it was not you who betrayed the court, but the court has beentrayed you for thirty years.

Gao Yue knew better than anyone else that the people in the occupied areas lived too hard, without life guarantees, and without dignity. The reason why they missed the Tang Dynasty and were willing to come to meet and cooperate with the Tang army was because they firmly believed that the Tang army could win the battle, and would not evacuate at will when they came this time, and would protect them from being ruled by foreign races.

If the court had been timid and cowardly, then in another thirty years, the scene of "a sacred crow and drum under the Buddha's temple" would have been staged in the Helong land in advance. In short, the people are content with the rule of the alien race and will no longer treat the Middle-Turkish regime as a liberator. How miserable and desperate would it be?

Under the Lieli Zhan flag, Gao Yue waved his hand and made a wish to the people coming to welcome him:

"The heavenly soldiers went to Helong's prefectures and prohibited killing people, and those who killed people paid their lives; those who killed livestock were prohibited from negotiating compensation; those who dared to commit crimes in the wilderness and those who dared to commit crimes were killed without mercy; those who were prohibited from levying excessive taxes were prohibited, and those who dared to charge extra grain and one monday were punished. In accordance with the emperor's order, the people of Shan, Kuo, He, Die, Dang, Tao, Min, Wei, Lan, Cheng, Qin, Gan, Su, Gua, and other prefectures and counties did not care about the foreigners and Han dynasties. Except for those who attached thieves, they had land taxes and taxes of silver and sheep. In addition, everything was originally mediocre and Wenshu, and they would be free today. They would grant all idle land, give cattle breeds, and provide poverty alleviation..."

After saying that, thousands of people, Wen Mo and Yong Geng, were all looking at the golden statues of Ji Gong Gao Yue and Manjushri Bodhisattva riding a white horse, and kowtowed to bow down. They all said, "The rivers and waters are long and the Huangshui River are long, and Ji Gong will not pay food when he comes."

He also said: "Manjushri Bodhisattva descended from Mount Wutai and used Duke Ji as the Maitreya to save the world. He came here to save us."

At this moment, Gao Yue asked the judge Liu Deshi and five hundred soldiers to divide the fields for all local people in Lintao City. "No need to paint, I will give the fields and farmlands occupied by the Xifan and Han officials to the people themselves, and encourage the people to tie up all those who have the thieves who have escaped from Shanzhou before they have time to escape. Those who have sent them can get 100 of the property of the thieves and will never break their promise."

Then, Wen Mo and others who were long alive in the mountains took the initiative to tell Gao Yue that there were a large number of Western foreign soldiers stationed and guarded the Heyuan Army in Shancheng, and the warehouses there were a lot of food and fodder, so we were willing to lead the way for the army.

Gao Yue immediately pointed to the war:

Hao Yan's three thousand Xiong Qi soldiers and Shatuo cavalry attacked Hemenchuan until the boundary of Ganzhou;

Baoyi Army and Xuanwei Cavalry went south to Bayan Mountain and swept into the territory of Guzhou;

All other cavalrymen, with Liangzhou's foreign cavalry as their vanguard, went straight to Shancheng, with their primary goal of capturing the granary and seizing grain.

Gao Yue immediately declared: Anyone who dares to burn the warehouse in the West Fan East will dare to burn the warehouse if he is arrested and taken by the Tang army. If the warehouse is burned and the main culprit cannot be found, he will kill Shang Qixin'er to take responsibility.

On the contrary, if Shang Qixin'er was willing to hand over the granary of Shancheng and Tulou Mountain to our Dao intact, then our Dao would still be friends with him again, and could restart the negotiations between the Tang and Tibet on the front line.
