15. The Western Revelation

"I just want to save the Buddhist teachings of Dunhuang, because I am a practitioner now. After entering the Sangmen, there is no longer any difference between Han and Japanese people!" Yuan Tong looked at the sword blade getting closer and closer, and kept roaring in simple Japanese words to defend himself.

Nu Qiong, who was standing there, covered her mouth in horror. She thought she would immediately watch the head of this traveler who was born in Tang Tu fell to the ground.

"Stop the big talk. Yuan Xingzhe and the Kucha Lotus Temple Dharma Realm have never lived. He came to the temple before and said that the Dharma in Dunhuang was saved from his original intention. I, Mahayana monks and Prince Moudi, can testify." Immediately, the mother wearing a cassock, Ding Aizeng also pleaded for Yuan Tongzhi.

The reason he did this was not entirely out of sympathy for Yuan. The Niang family was prominent in the early history of Xifan for a while, but since his ancestor, Shangnang, was punished by Songtsen Gampo, the family declined for a hundred years - Niang. Dingezeng had dreamed of reviving family power since childhood. The nobles of Xifan regarded the family glory far higher than the national face, and Dingezeng was no exception. At that time, he was recommended by Ma Chongying and entered Buddhism, and was able to approach Prince Moudi, which was just a part of his plan.

"The security of monks is sacred and inviolable, even if the other party is a great treatise." By rescuing Yuan Tongzhi, this is the fundamental reason why Dingaizeng did this. "The testimony of monks is not to be questioned on the land of Dafan."

Hearing this, Mudi and Mahayana nodded together and expressed their agreement.

Ma Chongying was so angry that he pulled his sword back to the sheath, kicked Yuan Tong straight to the ground beside the salt pond, and then glared at Prince Mou Di's eyes. His eyes were very complicated, and he stepped onto the horse's back and left leisurely.

When everyone passed by, they would look at Yuan Tongzhi curiously, who was lying on the ground and coughing and wheezing.

There was very little grass on the edge of the salt pond, and the grayish-white color was seeping in the sand. It was salt soil that turned into a hard shell. Yuan Tongzhi's mouth and face were now covered with this, causing his wound to hurt like pulling. However, after dipping his tongue with salty taste, it was filled with the loss of tears due to the pain. When he looked up and saw the calm salt pond under the clouds, Yuan Tongzhi's heart became quiet.

The thought in my heart became more and more firm...

Ma Chongying's siege of Dunhuang in Shazhou was defeated by the resolute resistance of the Tang army remaining in Hexi and Anxi, and by the rise and resistance of the Tang people and Han people in Helong.

Many years later, people directly regarded it as the turning point in the rapid decline of the Western Fan Empire.

Countries with such a system often retain the time to win, which is much shorter than the time to win.

Just as the thoughts of the later generations, the "Chen Record of the National War of the Destruction of the Western Fan" written by Han Yu, the master of literature, said: "The Qiang and Rong in the Western Fan were not behaved in the great way of benevolence and righteousness. Although they were simple, they lost their faith, and they were brave but lost their greed and violent. They first admired Bon religion and were also flattered by Buddhism. The royal power was dark and people could not bear heavy taxes. They also recognized the heroes of Helong and Han people as aliens. No matter who dared to take wise men, they all thought they were slaves, and people were tired of it. Once they expanded, they were hindered by our Chinese heroes, they would inevitably stagnate and even collapse, resulting in the warm grass and siege and the dead, the royal family was trampled into the wild, and the tombs were buried as caves where foxes and rats appeared. It is really lamentable, and it is really worthy of warning!"

Han Yu counted it very well, and the reasons for the demise of Western Fan are nothing more than three points:

The inherent flaws of the slave regime did not comply with the serfs and Han people at all. They regarded them as grass, cruel oppression, and had no advantage in economic policies, which eventually led to a great rebellion of slaves and collapsed;

The autocracy of domestic aristocrats, once the expansion momentum is stopped, internal contradictions will immediately intensify, and it will be a situation of self-killing;

In Hexi, the newly occupied areas in Longyou did not dare to absorb elite Han people to participate in the regime, treating all Han people as slaves, missing the opportunity for regime transformation and evolution, and eventually was ruthlessly eliminated by history because of their barbaric and backwardness.

After reading this work by Gao Yue, Gao Yue personally added a sentence to the end with a more alert note: "Xifan has no time to mourn himself, but other countries mourn him, and other countries mourn him but not to learn from it, which also makes other countries mourn him and other countries mourn him again."

Of course, in addition to the failure of the Western Fan attack on the Western Regions, the Tang army also achieved brilliant victories in the Southwest Ruins.

On June 16, at the foot of Hulang Mountain in the northeast of Weizhou, he arrived at the Feishan Camp of the Dingwu Army that captured this place. In the exclamation of the East Sichuan soldiers in the camp, wooden boards were laid on the mountain path that was not easy to walk, forming a passage from the camp to the top of the mountain. Then, cattle and sheep fat were applied to the wooden boards, and then used whips to drive cattle, mules and horses, and pulled ropes like spider webs on both sides, pulling two large-caliber copper cannons weighing ten stones (total of about 500 kilograms)!

This big bronze cannon took one and a half months to complete the "cast gunfire" in Liwu City. The sisters who were "born" at the same time were four. There were two gun positions located in Tusong Mountain on the northwest side of Taideng City, and two gun positions were located in Yinglei Tushan in the east of the city.

Wei Gao couldn't wait to give each of the six cannons a unique and gorgeous name, and was ready to engrave the craftsmen on it.

But Gao Yue said that the name is simple and simple, which is convenient for memorization.

So the two gates of Hulangshan are called "Hu Langyi" and "Hu Langyi"; the gates of Tusongshan are naturally "Tu Songsan" and "Tu Songsi", and the gates are "Dongfengwu" and "Dongfenglu".

This name was so anxious that Wei Gao almost committed obsessive-compulsive disorder.

When the copper cannon was moved to a fixed cannon position, the soldiers of Feishan Camp dug out a pit behind it and fixed it with thick iron chains and hooks on all sides, which is said to prevent the recoil and the wave of divine thunder medicine when the cannon was fired.

Then, looking at the opposite side, the city walls of Taideng City, the outer fortress, the towering fire tower at the corner, the horse-faced enemy platform, and the battle shed on it. The soldiers of Feishan Camp removed buckets of barn, charcoal and sulfur from the backs of mules and horses, carefully stacked them in the digging cellar, and placed them in a sorted manner. Then, under the operation of a skilled gunsmith, they took out the three ingredients, mixed them together, stirred them in a suitable proportion of butter and lard, filled them into the raised medicine room, and pointed the huge bronze muzzle with cold and reflective light towards the direction of Taideng City.

There are many stonemasons next to them who are carefully polishing stone projectiles.

The soldiers guarding the western foreign countries in the city were panicked and begged to hide and rejected the Tang army's three consecutive persuasions and surrendered, and wrote a farewell letter to his father Shang Jiezan and Zanpu on a wooden slip.

In the letter, Quizang condemned the two people.

One was Prince Mou Ru who was said to have brought Dongdai's imperial troops to reinforce. His army stopped before he even passed Gongchuan and stopped.

There is also a man who is in the south of Wuyou City, Victoria. He heard that the reinforcements from Saigon, Lacheng, and the former Gong who went to Taiteng City in his jurisdiction were defeated. After the news that the two city defense envoys died, they shrank and dared not fight. They secretly adopted the chiefs of the Eight Kingdoms of Xishan as intermediary to accept bribes from Wei Gao and Gao Yue, and agreed to the other party's condition that "I will not take Victoria, I will only take Victory states, I can watch the walls" and found various reasons to resist Zamp's order.
