Chapter 1: The Morning of Doomsday
At 5:48 in the morning on April 1, 2150, S University in S city slowly opened its eyes in the first ray of sunshine in the morning.
In the dormitory, a girl with shoulder-length hair was still sleeping soundly on the bed. The girl's name was Du Jiujiu, and she was a sophomore art student at University S.
On this day, she was the only one in the empty dormitory, which seemed particularly lonely. The other two roommates would go home every weekend, and today was no exception.
Du Jiujiu had a dream. She dreamed that she was back on the day when her family went out to play after the college entrance examination. The blue sky was washed spotlessly by the light rain that had just fallen, and the gentle wind blew through the woods in the mountains, making a rustling sound.
Her father drove her and her mother on the winding mountain road in the car, and the family chatted and laughed, talking about her upcoming college life and her bright future.
At this moment, a truck rushed out from the opposite side and hit them straight. The roof of the truck was dyed red with blood.
The dream was shattered and the future became dark.
Her mother's arms hugged her tightly, "Jiujiu, you have to live well..."
"Mom... don't... mom... dad..."
Du Jiujiu cried, and suddenly felt her mother's hand holding her getting closer and closer, and she felt a tingling sensation on her neck.
She opened her eyes suddenly, ignoring the tears on her face, and grabbed her neck with both hands, only to find that the green basket on the bedside had grown long vines at some point, and wrapped tightly around her neck.
On the top of her body, not only did the vines turn into a strange crimson color, but long spikes sprouted from them. The sting just now was a spike piercing her skin.
Du Jiujiu was so frightened that she threw the vine to the ground and dropped the flower pot with it, making a crisp cracking sound. What frightened her even more was that the green basket of the flower pot was missing from the ground, and the roots and vines were still there.
Squirming slowly.
While Du Jiujiu stared at the squirming green basket, she quietly touched the mobile phone beside her bed.
“1.…1…0…”
After dialing the phone, she didn't hear the familiar "beep" sound, but a burst of noise. Du Jiujiu kept hearing the same sound after trying it several times, and she suddenly felt heartbroken.
"It's better to ask for help than to ask for yourself," Du Jiujiu muttered to encourage herself while throwing the quilt on the green basket. Then she mustered up the courage to quickly run to the bathroom, took a mop and smashed it against the quilt.
Two times...until the vines under the quilt stopped crawling.
Just when Du Jiujiu had finished all this and was about to go to other dormitories to seek help, a shrill scream suddenly sounded outside the door.
Du Jiujiu opened the door and carefully looked in the direction of the sound, only to find Bai Siting stumbled out of the bedroom next door with a look of horror on her face.
Du Jiujiu quickly opened the door and pulled Bai Siting in: "Tingting, what's wrong?"
Bai Siting was stunned for a moment, then she took Du Jiujiu's hand and cried loudly: "Jiujiu, it's not okay, Yaya... Yaya was bitten by a hamster... there was so much blood... I'm so scared...".
Bai Siting seemed to be frightened by what happened suddenly and spoke hesitantly. It was only after Du Jiujiu asked her repeatedly that she roughly understood what was going on.
Although pets are prohibited in their school, Bai Siting's roommate Wang Yaya secretly raised a hamster and placed it in a transparent plastic box. This hamster is usually very well-behaved and does not make too much noise.
But just now, the sound of gnawing things kept coming from the box, which woke up the two people in the dormitory. Wang Yaya thought the hamster was hungry, so she got up to feed it, but as soon as she opened the lid of the box, the hamster jumped out.
, jumped on Wang Yaya’s body and started to bite.
Bai Siting was so frightened when she saw this that she didn't even bother to help Wang Yaya drive away the hamster, but ran out by herself.
Although Du Jiujiu was a little ashamed of her behavior just now, she couldn't blame her. She picked up the mop she had just used and planned to help Wang Yaya.
But Bai Siting kept backing away and refused to go over: "If I don't go, that hamster must have become a spirit. How can there be any hamster that can jump so high..." Before she finished speaking, she tripped over the hamster that Du Jiujiu had dropped just now.
Under the quilt, a branch was exposed from the green basket that was originally covered.
Bai Siting was shocked when she saw it. The exposed red vines were actually crawling toward her ankles.
"Ahhhhh! Jiujiu, what is this!?"
Du Jiujiu was also stunned. She didn't expect that this strange green basket had such strong vitality and was still alive.
"This is the green basket I raised before, but it turned out like this this morning. If you don't go with me to help Yaya, just stay here." Du Jiujiu said rudely, and then walked out carrying the mop.
"Jiujiu, don't leave me alone, I'll go... I'll just go with you!"
Bai Siting's voice was filled with tears. As she spoke, she looked around and found a broom in the corner. She held it tightly in her hand and carefully followed Du Jiujiu out.
The corridor was eerily quiet.
Du Jiujiu glanced at the time on her phone and it was 6 o'clock. Even though there were fewer people in the dormitory on weekends and most of them would sleep in, there would usually be people getting up and washing up at this time. But the screams of Bai Siting and Wang Yaya just now were not except for her.
No one came out to respond.
Du Jiujiu walked to the door of the next dormitory and listened for a while. It was very quiet inside. Du Jiujiu couldn't help but have a bad feeling in her heart. Then she opened the door. The scene in front of her was so shocking that she took a few steps back and her stomach was turbulent.
The hamster Bai Siting mentioned just now was lying on Wang Yaya's body and chewing on it. Wang Yaya fell to the ground, with a pool of blood flowing out of her throat. There was still a look of horror on her face. It looked like she would not survive.
Du Jiujiu endured the discomfort in her stomach, tightened the mop rod in her hand and walked towards the hamster wheel. Unexpectedly, the hamster moved very quickly, as if it felt the danger, and jumped onto the table next to it with a "pop", a pair of transparent
Her small eyes with faint red light stared at Du Jiujiu closely.
At this moment, Bai Siting, who was dawdling behind, finally walked in and saw Wang Yaya lying on the ground. The fear from before filled her heart again. The broom in her hand suddenly fell to the ground. She rolled her eyes and her body went limp.
Fell down.
Du Jiujiu secretly thought that it was not good. She originally planned to find an opportunity to exit the dormitory and lock the cruel hamster inside, but Bai Siting fainted at the door and the door could not be closed.
"Squeak!"
With a strange cry, the hamster rushed straight towards Du Jiujiu, and Du Jiujiu quickly blocked it with his hands.
"Ah!!" Although she reacted quickly, the hamster's sharp teeth still left a bloody mark on her wrist.
The hamster missed a hit and rushed towards Du Jiujiu again. This time, Du Jiujiu did not dare to block it with his hands. Instead, he picked up the mop rod and threw it at the hamster. The hamster was unable to dodge and was hit hard on the ground. See
Like this, Du Jiujiu hurriedly stamped on it. When she saw the hamster turned into a puddle of flesh and blood, Du Jiujiu breathed a sigh of relief.
From the strange green basket in the pot this morning to the ferocious, agile and amazing hamster in front of him, all these weird things were swirling in Du Jiujiu's mind, as if there was an invisible hand behind his back.
The original order of the world is slowly being shattered.
"Hey, what's going on in your dormitory? It's so noisy so early in the morning that you can't let anyone sleep!" A lazy voice suddenly appeared, interrupting Du Jiujiu's thoughts.
In the corridor, a tall figure slowly walked over. Du Jiujiu stuck her head out and looked against the light. Although she couldn't see her face clearly, she guessed that the person who came was Hu Xiaoyun by looking at her waist-length hair.
