Chapter 116
After the Ming Dynasty law is finished, let us all come to understand another set of laws.
Before talking about this set of laws, I had to make a comprehensive evaluation of the officials of the Ming Dynasty.
miserable!
We all know that the positions of officials in all dynasties are the most stable, and their positions are our current civil servants.
When you encounter a popular position, you can choose one of thousands of people, which is common.
It is not an exaggeration to use the word "choose one from a thousand".
And if you are lucky and knowledgeable, you will die of thousands of people and climb up alone, it will be like holding a golden rice bowl and you will never have to worry about food and drink in this life.
The position of civil servant can be said to be a position that everyone in history wants to take on by squeezing their heads.
But in Zhu Yuanzhang's hands, the originally noble profession of official has completely changed.
Because his originally noble official position was killed by Boss Zhu to become a high-risk occupation.
In the Ming Dynasty, especially in the era of Zhu Yuanzhang, officials could only use one word to describe it.
That's: miserable.
Desperate!
If many of our delicious foods nowadays are compared to endangered species, then officials here will be killed by Zhu Yuanzhang and become a high-risk occupation.
It is most appropriate to use the official language of Ming History.
Kill people every day.
The translation means that no day does not kill people, and every day someone dies under Zhu Yuanzhang's knife.
Think about it, if this evaluation is not exaggerated, how many people will die?
No matter how good you do, how excellent your resume, or how serious your work is, you will never escape the fate of being beheaded.
Later, many people even took their own decisions in order to not become officials.
Don't think I'm joking. This is a real fact. Many people will cut off their own hands and escape from official positions in order to refuse to serve in the court.
Of course, doing so could indeed evade Zhu Yuanzhang's collection.
But because of suicide, many people failed to escape Zhu Yuanzhang's claws.
The most classic case originated from the uncle and nephew named Xia Boqi, who are famous scholars in Jiangxi Province.
After Zhu Yuanzhang pacified the world, he began to recruit many Confucian officials, and local officials in Jiangxi handed over the resumes of Xia Boqi and others to Zhu Yuanzhang.
However, given the glorious deeds of Zhu Yuanzhang killing countless people, Xia Boqi and the others were afraid of losing their lives, so they refused to obey Zhu Yuanzhang's edict.
In order to firmly resist Zhu Yuanzhang's summoning, the two of them even cut off their fingers to show their resistance.
I don’t even have my fingers and can’t write anymore. It’s useless to call me into the palace again. This is OK!
But what they would not have thought was that when their glorious deeds reached Zhu Yuanzhang's ears, Zhu Yuanzhang's lungs were almost pissed off.
I'll push you!
Do you two bastards look down on me?
I will not give you any official position, and you will clearly not give me face.
Didn’t you break your fingers? I want to see if your neck is hard and can’t stand my tossing.
So he ordered people to capture the two, and Zhu Yuanzhang issued a terrible order.
He decided to hack them to death himself.
After arresting the two, Zhu Yuanzhang did not immediately execute his orders.
Instead, they first talked to the two, or they could be said to be scolding.
The specific content is as follows:
Zhu Yuanzhang asked: "Where did you live in the world when the world was in chaos?"
The forms of punishment that ordinary people can use are limited to the Ming Law.
The Great Edict cannot be called a set of laws in the true sense. If we talk about it according to our current teaching form, it should be regarded as a combination of many classic cases.
After these cases appeared, Zhu Yuanzhang, the emperor, had a sudden idea. In order to teach the officials how to deal with such cases in the future, he personally wrote down the detailed process and handling plan for the occurrence of such cases, and then distributed them to all levels and counties.
"The Great Edict" is like the filing done by our current teachers.
If there are similar cases in the Great Edict during your term of office, you don’t need to ask Zhu Yuanzhang for instructions, and you don’t need to worry about this matter. Just follow the execution method written in my Great Edict.
These cases include criminal cases and economic cases.
This includes 80% of criminal cases, including: slandering the emperor, forming gangs and chaotic governments, officials neglecting their duties, corruption and bribery, placing crimes and harming the people to embezzle money and grain, evading food, etc.
The remaining twenty percent are economic crimes, such as food resistance, tax resistance, difference resistance, rent resistance, etc.
These cases vary in different cases and are punished.
Let's talk about it separately.
Let’s start with one by one:
Corruption cases: corruption cases suspected of corruption and bribery, including but not limited to corruption cases, such as buying and selling officials, exploiting the people, embezzling taxes, etc., such cases are divided by the extreme punishment.
Punishment method: beheading, hanging or storm.
