Chapter 373 Let the Country People See the Majesty of the Imperial Court(1/2)

Li Su asked the envoy Deng Zhi to travel to Duling and posted a post to Qiao Rui. The two sides agreed to hold a meeting at Leyouyuan on the 15th of June at the Leyouyuan on the banks of Qujiang Pool in Shanglinyuan.

Leyouyuan is an affiliated attraction in Shanglinyuan. It was outside the southeast corner of Chang'an City. It was called this during the Han Dynasty. In the later Sui and Tang Dynasties, because the original buildings and walls were gone, only trees and water views were left. At the same time, it was wrapped in the city by Chang'an City that was expanded during the Sui Dynasty, which was called "Leyouyuan".

Li Shangyin wrote "Climbing the Journey to the Yuan", which is the song "The sunset is infinitely beautiful, but it's just approaching dusk".

As for the Qujiang Pond in Leyouyuan, it has been left until the 21st century and is still a scenic spot in the southeastern suburbs of Xi'an. However, due to the thousand-year silt, the original entire lake was divided into two scenic spots, "Qujiang Pond" and "Furong Garden".

With two or three days left before the meeting, Li Su and Liu Ba finally thoroughly investigated the grain inventory in each warehouse in Chang'an, and arranged an undercover visit to private inventory. Fortunately, they knew it before buying large-scale grain, and finally fine-tuned the grain price range that was ready to "raise".

On June 15th, Zhou Ying also had to go with her, but now she has nothing to do. This is the first time she has suddenly become free since she was taken as a concubine by Li Su. Zhou Ying breathed a sigh of relief and was a little uncomfortable for a moment, so she told her husband and used her leisure days to visit old friends.

Zhou Ying had no old friends in Chang'an. After thinking about it, she went to Changle Palace to visit Princess Wannian.

Liu Miao was also very bored in the palace recently. Li Suzhou Ying was busy before. Now Zhou Ying is finally here to walk around, which makes her very happy. She pulled her to talk to her private words together:

"Ying'er, congratulations, I finally got what I wanted. I have served the Right General for so long and I am quite famous. We sisters should also celebrate in private."

Zhou Ying: "Your Highness... Sister Miao has ruined me, and I can't say anything about my status. I have seen through it. My husband is cold on the outside and hot on the inside, and hesitated. He is obviously afraid of being abrupt. He is hesitant for a long time, but in the end he is so hasty that he doesn't even have the chance to serve a drink and a gift in private.

Fortunately, he is such a lone person. Not only is he not good at expressing his wives and concubines, but he doesn't even care about his own reputation. He really 'reverse but does not shrink back. Even though he is broad-minded, I am not worried'."

Zhou Ying's last sentence is casually quoted from "Mencius", which naturally describes his husband's "for the sake of justice, it doesn't matter whether his personal reputation is understood by the world."

Later readers prefer to misuse the second half of the sentence, which is, "I will shrink back if I turn myself back, even if I have tens of millions of people, I will go there." However, those who have read Confucian classics in the Han Dynasty, even women, will not make such low-level mistakes.

Because Mencius used abbreviations in these two sentences, "Although Brown and Broadbe" or "Although Ten Thousands of People", he did not say what these people are doing, whether they support or oppose them.

Without the context of classical Chinese, it is indeed more eye-catching and shocking to use the second half of the sentence to take it out of context. Therefore, most modern people understand it as "as long as I reflect on myself and feel right, even if there are thousands of people oppose me, I will do it."

Mencius’ original meaning is “If I think something is wrong after reflecting on myself, even if millions of people support me, I will give up.”

The "not being worried" in the first half of the sentence means "not being afraid, having to do it", and "going" is just "giving up, not doing it".

Of course, those who truly understand the way of courage will not feel that Mencius’ true intentions are lower than those of later generations’ misunderstandings.

Because if you are brave, you know how to give up when someone supports you, which is more rare than knowing how to persist when someone opposes you. Just like when you are slashing with power, the beauty is even more beautiful. After you vent it all, you will not pull it out, and there will be infinite possibilities.

Although Liu Miao read less than Zhou Ying, she was also a royal princess after all, and she also understood it slightly. There are naturally no obstacles to understanding the meaning of Zhou Ying’s words.

She thought something and wanted to ask Zhou Ying if Li Su had encountered a dilemma of being both famous and pragmatic, but after a few questions, Zhou Ying knew to keep it confidential, so she naturally would not tell her the specific matters. She just mentioned Li Su's character and blocked the topic.

Liu Miao failed to find out, so she let it go temporarily and talked to Zhou Ying about some happy things, and asked Zhou Ying to accompany her out of the palace to play.

As she chatted, Zhou Ying mentioned that she would go to Leyouyuan in a few days. I wonder if there were any precautions for enjoying it. Of course, Liu Miao was so familiar with the palaces and royal gardens around Chang'an that she could not be more familiar with.

After all, during the period when she was in the vassal a few years ago, when Huangfu Song took charge of Chang'an, and before Dong Zhuo had returned west, there was only Liu Miao, a royal family member around Chang'an. She would go wherever she wanted, and Huangfu Song would not restrain her.

Liu Miao naturally said with great care: "What's the problem? Please pack up some wild tea stoves and I'll take you to see what fun is there. Well, Leyouyuan is about to arrive in Duling. There are many places where royal relatives buried their bones around. My aunt and uncle died. I haven't visited it yet. Let's give me some sacrifices by the way."

"Wild spots" are foods for picnics on outings. This is what they called from the Han Dynasty to the Tang Dynasty. Later, it was introduced to Japanese tea ceremony. This concept has been found in the tea ceremony. However, the wild spots in later generations have become exquisite "Hanzi", with little Han style.

Zhou Ying was also afraid that she would not be able to do anything about the landlords and would not be able to receive the other party’s female relatives well, which would embarrass Li Su, so she was so happy that she could use Liu Miao as a tour guide to check out the spot in advance.

The two sisters asked the palace maids to pack up some tea sets, beast charcoal fruit snacks, and borrowed some guards. They went to Leyouyuan to have a walk and enjoy a picnic. They showed off their tea art, cooked tea for each other to drink, and talked and laughed all the way, and talked a lot of private conversations.

On the way back, he also went to the cemetery where the eldest princess Liu Hua and the late father-in-law Fu Wan and the late queen Fu Shou were buried together.

Liu Xie was young and had not yet built a tomb until he ascended the throne. Moreover, Empress Fushou was killed by Li Jue's men, and no one knew whether he had been humiliated before his death, so he could not be buried in the imperial tomb, but could only be buried in the tomb of his mother's family.

In front of Liu Hua's tomb, Liu Miao couldn't help but burst into tears. He remembered that his aunt, as the eldest princess, stayed in Chang'an on the eve of restoring the Han Dynasty and was killed by Li Thief, and she couldn't help but feel unrealistic like a butterfly dreamt of Zhuang Zhou.

After the commemoration of Liu Miao, he sighed with emotion: "I am used to life and death, but I seem to be a little indifferent to fame and fortune. What's the point of fame? Ying'er, whether it's your experience or the strategy of Brother Li to save the people whom you never want to say, in comparison, it's all passing by.

At least I still have the name of a princess, but how fragile is the name of a princess? During the great change, it was still outside the city in Chang'an. Perhaps life and death will be separated forever, and the name will be illusion."

"Sister's words are more open-minded, and my level is far inferior." Zhou Ying praised Xiaojing.

The two looked at the evening view of Leyouyuan for a while. Seeing that it was getting late, they slowly walked down the mountain along the side of the tomb. The carriage sent them back to Chang'an City. It was already the end of the Youth hour at night (7 pm).

The Han Dynasty had few nightlife, and Zhou Ying came back only at the You hour, which made Li Sutty worry. Before the carriage returned home, Li Su personally welcomed the door to watch. Seeing this, Zhou Ying quickly got out of the carriage and accused him of the crime, and did not care about sending Liu Miao back to the next Changle Palace first.

"Why is this late? The chaos has not been completely peaceful yet? Don't you know I will be worried? I didn't handle any official duties at all since Shen Shi, and I was just thinking about it." Li Su couldn't help but pat Zhou Ying a few times to show punishment.

Zhou Ying's face turned red: "When I left, I told my sister Xiuser that she had gone to Leyouyuan. Didn't she tell you? Sister Miao worshiped Princess Sauvignon Yang'an and Father Fu Guo. She was sad for a while and watched the dusk scenery of Leyouyuan on Lingshan for a while. I would be late to relieve my feelings."

Li Su hated him and said indifferently: "Of course Xiuser told me, but it was close to Duling and Qiaorui's jurisdiction. What if Yuan Shu's troops passed by?"

Zhou Ying apologized well: "It won't be possible next time. This time, I have actually hired some Changle Palace guards led by the Dianziwei to accompany me to protect me. I am also afraid that I will not be familiar with the host at that time and will embarrass you. Let's go and check in on the spot first."

Li Su did not delve further: "Just pay attention, Ele. What about E.g. Let's have a meal first. In fact, both parties know it well. It's not really too particular about bringing women. It's just to give each other peace of mind - no one will use his own war in front of his wife and children. If you want to talk about war, you won't take care of your family."

As Li Su said, Liu Miao got off the carriage and came over to take the initiative to quit Zhou Ying and asked Li Su not to blame her. She was too late for delay.

Li Su was not good at not giving face to the guests, so of course he had to let Liu Miao go to the house for dinner together.

Dinner is just a simple grilled fish and noodle cake, as well as some storage-resistant fruits. It can be seen that Li Su has tried not to waste it recently. Since Liu Miao tightened his expenses this time, she has come to Li Su for dinner. From the dishes, it can also be seen that Li Su's appearance is consistent and worthy of her conscience.

Liu Miaozan said: "When I was in Yizhou, Brother Li was known for his extravagance. Now he has a life of not eating heavy meat. He is really a straightforward gentleman. I have a chance in a few days and I will tell the emperor that in Changle Palace, a small fish is enough every day. Uncle Huang still provides me with wild game for a long time."

"You are different. You are still growing up at the age of sixteen. It's okay to eat some wild game. It's not like me. I'm 25 years old and I'm about to get married, so I should have to endure hardships." Li Su agreed casually, but she couldn't help but fail.

After dinner, Liu Miao took advantage of Zhou Ying to direct the maid to clean up and block Li Su in the back garden, and asked some questions he was curious about: "Brother Li, have you had any troubles in government affairs recently? Can you tell me about it?"

Li Su raised her eyebrows: "How do you ask about these things? But what did Ying'er tell you?"

Liu Miao: "Sakura is tight-lipped, she only said that you cannot achieve both fame and achievements. You also give up your name and name, which makes people admire you very much. My sister just wants to say, I support you. If one day, I can be like you, regardless of reputation and be transcendent to the world.

Unfortunately, in the world, Buddhism and Taoism are all slanderous paths, and they want to be purified from the world, but they cannot be obtained. When I pay homage to Aunt Yang'an's family today, I was wondering what the use of fame and status is."

Li Su could hear that Liu Miao was worried about being more and more disgusted with the princess' identity in his words. However, the Buddhist path at the end of the Han Dynasty was not the right path, and the path was ruined by the evil disciples of Zhang Jiao and Zhang Lu, and the Buddha was also made notorious by the Xie Rong, which became a very aggressive evil path for slaughtering.

Li Su was afraid that Liu Miao would be stubborn, so he comforted him first: "It's okay to be pure and free to be a lay Buddhist, and he can also cultivate a real person. Legend has it that when Emperor Wu was practicing Chenglu Pan, how many immortals were visiting him on a crane? Wei Shuqing came from Huashan, so he could also practice by himself. You are still young, don't think about these."

Wei Shuqing is a folk legendary immortal cultivator. There was a certain range of legends at the end of the Han Dynasty, but the official did not recognize that Emperor Wu of Han had ever seen this immortal. In history, it was not until Ge Hongxiu of the Eastern Jin Dynasty that he collected stories of immortal cultivating from all generations before he recorded them in the classics.

Li Su has never verified whether Wei Shuqing is widely recognized now. He just wanted to comfort Liu Miao and talk about him casually. Because he didn't know other ancient immortal cultivators, he didn't study it, and the name blurted out, just because Li Bai, a poet of the Tang Dynasty, often used these names when he wrote "Nineteen Poems of Ancient Styles".

Li Bai's ancient style was imitated by the Han Yuefu, and many of the immortal scriptures used in it were also found in the Han Dynasty. These were all from later middle school Chinese textbooks, so Li Su could know.

Liu Miao was just sighing that the world was impermanent, and life and death were a moment. He heard Li Su comfort her, and he was inevitably grateful, but she thought that Li Su was coaxing her: "Really? Why didn't I see the story of Emperor Wu in "The Book of Han" that Emperor Wu had this experience? It was you who comforted me and made up for the time being."

Anyway, Li Su was idle and was so happy to coax her little sister, so she picked up a stone pier and sat down, and whispered nonsense beside the stone table: "The strange powers and spirits are not necessarily written in history books. The interesting things in "Miscellaneous Notes of Xijing" are also very unconsistent in "Han Shu". If you believe it, you will not believe it. Just don't be paranoid.

Well, last month, I went to Hongnong to meet His Majesty. I passed by Huayin when I returned home and rested along the way. I took a walk around the mountain for a while and felt like a Yuefu:

Going to the Lotus Peak west, you will see stars from a distance; holding lotus in plain hands, walking in Taiqing, and inviting me to climb Yuntai, bow to Wei Shuqing; I will leave with him in a daze, and drive the geese to the purple darkness. Looking down at Xianyang River, the Hu soldiers walked in vast areas; bleeding and weeds, and jackals and wolves were all over their crowns and tassels.

It can be seen that transcending the world is a common human sentiment. When the Tao is not feasible, there will be such hesitation, wanting to ask for the longevity and avoid the world. Unfortunately, I don’t have that fate. Qinchuan bleeds and weeds, Hu soldiers and wolves harm the people, and in this chaotic world, who else can I do?”

While Li Su said, he added a few words to Li Bai's imitation of Han Yuefu, deleted a few sentences, and recorded them with paper and pen.

Liu Miao looked around, her heart becoming more and more complicated, with admiration and a sense of sudden relief that she found a way out.

Li Su wrote such a sage that was so well-known, obviously not done on a temporary basis. It can be seen that even if the Buddhist path was harmed by the traitors and warlords, he could still seek to cultivate truth and purity.

Liu Miao couldn't help but be curious and wanted to hear a more detailed story, so she followed Li Su to translate: "What is this 'star'? Why can you have lotus on your hands and walk with your eyes? Is he an immortal like Wei Shuqing?"

"Well... this star is a fairy of Huashan." Li Su didn't understand very well, recalling the translation of Li Bai in Chinese textbooks, "It's a fairy of Huashan, holding a lotus in her hand, pulling me ascend to Yuntai to meet Wei Shuqing, and discussing the method of becoming an immortal. Maybe it's also the nickname of Nong Yu, the daughter of Duke Mu of Qin. In Liu Xiang's "Biography of Immortals", he said that Xiao Shi, Nong Yu is flying in Huashan."

Liu Miao sighed with a deep thought: "What a good poem, can this volume be collected for me?"

Li Su: "I recorded it casually, you want me to write and copy it again."

Liu Miao smiled sly: "What does it matter whether the word "ugly" is ugly or not? Those Taoists also have magic power to draw talismans."

Liu Miao put away her words and then poked Li Su with her elbow, insisting on asking Zhou Ying about the troubles in government affairs that she refused to tell her, saying that she wanted to enlighten Li Su. Since she had Li Su's inspiration, she had to listen to Li Su's difficulties.

Li Su was so funny that she was so funny that she was like those psychological counseling clubs in colleges. She was a group of three-legged cats who were not qualified to pay for psychological counseling, so she just shared it a few times.

However, Li Su also treated Liu Miao as her sister. After all, she had been in a relationship for several years, so she roughly explained the situation and told her not to worry, that she had already thought of a solution.

Liu Miao thought: "It turned out that the grain price was soaring in advance to increase the supply of goods to prevent people from starving to death, but he had to bear the bad reputation of exploiting the people... Alas, you can tolerate this. You have done great things, but your integrity is much better than me. You can leave no name or even a bad reputation if you do great things."

As Liu Miao said, she gently surrounded Li Su from behind and murmured: "Brother Li, my little sister supports you. No matter what outsiders think, you are the best."

Li Su patted Liu Miao's back of the hand and let her slowly relax: "I'm not as great as you think. Didn't I say that? I've actually already had an answer these days. When I met Qiao Rui the day after tomorrow, I was going to be open and honest, telling what I wanted to do, and I would also advise him to learn from me.

But I think that Yuan Shu's advisers should not have this insight and cannot see through the wonderfulness of this move. Qiao Rui will definitely not learn from me in full, and he is also afraid that Yuan Shu will be punished for harming the people for exploitation. Therefore, as long as the five counties in Jingzhao under Yuan Shu's jurisdiction will not rise in advance and many people will starve to death, this negative example will highlight my goodness.

Of course, if Qiao Rui had such insight and was willing to learn from me thoroughly, there would be no negative examples available at that time. But that doesn't matter. At that time, I will recommend a guilty person who can be pushed out to calm the public's anger."

Li Su didn't need to mention the last name to Liu Miao, so he didn't say it.

In fact, what he thought about recently was that when necessary, he could try to borrow Wang Bi to do this - didn't Wang Bi speak out and dare to advise? And it was also the one who was engaged in Jingzhao's servant, saying that this suggestion was made by Wang Bi, which was just in line with his duties.

Of course, if Wang Bi comes out alive and denies it and confronts you, it will still be a mistake.

But since Li Su needs to use this trick, he can let Wang Bi expose a bunch of Jingzhao families first, and then expose Cao Cao anyway, and then let Wang Bi be killed by the assassin sent by Cao Cao to silence...

Cao Cao could use Wang Wan's head to calm the morale of the army, and Li Su could of course use Wang Bi's head to do similar things.

The only difference is that Li Su never borrows his own people, either he doesn't, he wants to borrow or borrows traitors.

And this is just Plan B. If Qiao Rui is disobedient, Plan A can be done directly.

Although Liu Miao didn't hear all the details, she could hear that Li Su told her not to worry about him and not to rush to resonate with him, that would be really not false.

"Hmph, you are so cunning. I still feel sympathy with you. I want to comfort each other. It turns out that there is a way to break it!" Liu Miao couldn't help but hit Li Su a few times.

"Then do you hope I can't crack the enemy's frame-up?" Li Su teased casually.

Liu Miao pouted angrily: "No! Of course I hope you are well... They just found out that you don't need others to comfort you, so it's a waste of time! You have always taken care of me in the past few years, and I can't do anything."

Li Su stood up happily: "What's the matter? Who made you a girl? I can't do anything at your age. I'm still learning to read with the Supervisor. It's late, go back quickly."
To be continued...
