Chapter Thirty-Nine Mr. Pringle's Mission

As September is about to end, a sudden cold wave hit Hogwarts Castle.

A cold began to spread between teachers and students, which made Mrs. Pomfrey extremely busy during this period.

She had to commission a potion teacher, Professor Slughorn, to prepare a refreshing agent that can prevent colds and distribute it to the lower graders.

However, students who drink this kind of refreshing agent will keep smoking out their ears and noses.

So much so that the Slytherin common room is now filled with smoke and hazy all day...

...'

There were more people in Matthew's dormitory.

First Theodore Nott left the school hospital, then Vincent Crabb and Gregory Goal returned one after another.

Matthew was more deliberate and kept a certain distance from them.

Preventing what happened with Nott that night, again appeared, and then scared them back to the school hospital again.

If that kind of thing happened a few more times, maybe someone would suspect that it was about them.

It was not troublesome. Neither Crabb nor Goal had any intention of dealing with Matthew Do. Even Nott seemed to forget what happened that night.

Time passed day by day...

Soon, another Saturday arrived.

This time, the first-year Slytherin boys were going to conduct their second "after-class practice" with the potion class teacher Professor Slughorn. Of course, it was only the first time for the three people except Matthew.

At 8:30 on Saturday morning, four boys who had just finished their breakfast arrived at the door of the Potion Classroom on time.

Nott knocked on the door first, but there was no response.

Then Crab and Gole took turns to play and knocked hard on the door. The poor little iron door was slightly deformed.

However, Professor Slughorn still did not come out.

Several people had to wait here...

Almost ten minutes later, Slytherin's predecessor, Gemma Farley, walked over from the auditorium in a hurry.

"Professor Slughorn also caught a cold!" She gasped and explained, "He asked me to inform you..."

"That's how it's cancelled this 'after-class practice'?" Nott immediately looked happy: "Can we go back?"

"Of course not." Miss Farley shook her head with some regret: "Mr. Pringer is short of staff, so you have been transferred to that group temporarily."

...

This is undoubtedly quite bad news.

After all, in Hogwarts Castle, almost no one would like Mr. Pringer; these boys from Slytherin are no exception.

The raindrops as big as bullets hit the castle windows, and the sounds continued.

It was raining outside the window, with dark clouds in the sky, and thunder sounded from time to time.

Meanwhile, the four boys dragged heavy steps to the fourth floor of the castle, Mr. Pringer's office.

This is a low hut with an oil lamp hanging on the ceiling, and a smell filled with a smell. The most conspicuous position in the house is a doghouse, which is Mr. Tang’s residence.

It's not like the legendary ones, with iron chains, handcuffs and whips...

Several boys are already waiting here, all of whom are first-year students in Gryffindor.

The relationship between Slytherin and Gryffindor colleges has always been very poor, and they basically ignored each other. Only Matthew and Neville greeted him.

A dozen boys waited for a while, and suddenly, the barking of dogs came from a distance.

The golden retriever Mr. Tang rushed out of nowhere and glared at these first-year students.

Then Mr. Pringer came.

He first fed Mr. Tang some dog food, then looked at the students in front of him, and reached out to count.

"It's almost enough..." he said to himself.

"You three big guys, go to the prize showroom and wipe the trophy there!" He clicked on Crabb, Goll and Ronald Weasley of Gryffindor: "Mr. Tang will take you there!"

The golden retriever who was still gnawing dog food there quickly shook his tail.

"There are three of you..." This time, Mr. Pringer called Matthew, and Neville Longbottom and Harry Evans of Gryffindor: "Professor Rozier needs someone to help her clean up the office!"

Then, Mr. Pringer glanced at them a few more times and said viciously: "You'd better not be lazy. I'll know what you are doing... Also, Professor Rozier doesn't like others' moves around her things, don't blame me for not warning you!"

After saying that, he pointed to a pile of housewares in the corner.

...

The three men carried the broom, mop and bucket, and left Mr. Pringer's cottage.

"Matthew, why are you here too?" Neville Longbottom asked softly when he approached Matthew.

"We should have gone to Professor Slughorn for 'after-class practice'." Matthew shrugged: "But Professor Slughorn is sick, and it just so happens that Mr. Pringer is short of people, so..."

"Then your luck is really bad." Navi couldn't help but sigh.

"By the way..." Matthew asked in confusion: "Does wizards also need people to clean up? Can't these be done with spells?"

"It's OK in theory, but it's more troublesome," Neville explained. "So most wizards are unwilling to do this. They are more willing to hand over this work to the house elves... and Professor Rozier is said to be reluctant to let the house elves enter her office."

"So that's it!" As he echoed, Matthew looked at Harry Evans, who was walking with his head down.

To be honest, he was quite interested in the "protagonist" in this original work... but he had never found any opportunity to communicate before.

After hesitating for a while, Matthew took the initiative to speak, "Hello, Evans!"

Evans raised his head timidly, looked at Matthew, and said in a small mosquito-like voice: "You...hello..."

After saying that, he quickly lowered his head.

"Cough!" Neville coughed gently, and he explained: "Evans has a more introverted personality...he doesn't like to communicate with others."

"Oh." Matthew nodded.

At the same time, he thought to himself in his heart... If it were James Porter's son, he would definitely not be so introverted, right? Could it be that he is the son of Severus Snape and Lily Evans?

While thinking, Matthew unknowingly they had arrived at the bathroom on the second floor.

They filled the barrels and basins with water, and then staggered towards the vice-chancellor's office.
