Chapter 34 Entering the Forbidden Forest

Matthew Wickfield never thought that he would enter the depths of the Forbidden Forest to go for an "exploration" in the second week of school.

Despite being accompanied by a teacher, Professor Keitelborn doesn't seem much more reliable than Haeger...

"It seems that you are well prepared." After looking at Matthew's long-sleeved wizard robe, horse boots and dragon leather gloves, Professor Kettleborn commented:

"It's wise. I remember that at the beginning of last semester, a girl from Ravenclaw was wearing a short skirt to participate in the after-school practice... Merlin's beard, I remember that after the end of that day, the poor girl cried for almost half an hour..."

"That...Professor Kettleborn!" Matthew asked softly, "What is the bloodsucking monster?"

"A very vicious magical creature!" Professor Kettleborn commented: "It is about the same size as a fox, with light gray and slightly blue all over, eyes as big as eggs, long fangs, and long thorns in the middle of the head and back. They like to sneak attacks on domestic animals and ordinary small animals and suck their blood..."

"...Of course, the blood-sucking monster is actually just a very weak magical creature. They hardly attack Muggles or wizards on their own...but the bastards in the forbidden forest not only killed a nest of chickens I raised, but also attacked a nest of rabbits I released three weeks ago. It's really unforgivable..."

Chicken... Rabbit... This blood-sucking monster sounds weak! Matthew thought to himself.

Then this "exploration" is likely to not encounter any danger!

"Hold this!" At this moment, Professor Kettleborn stuffed a teapot into Matthew's hand.

"Is this?" Matthew was stunned. This exquisite teapot was the one he had seen on the round table before.

After taking the teapot, he could clearly feel that the thing was very heavy, and it seemed to contain something, and it was a living thing!

"If you encounter danger, smash the teapot and the little guy inside will protect you!" Professor Kettleborn explained: "Okay, Wakefield, let's go!"

Matthew looked at the teapot in his hand... It seemed that he still didn't feel reliable.

...

Since it was not yet completely bright, especially after entering the Forbidden Forest, Professor Kettleborn also brought a lamp.

He walked in front and Matthew walked behind, and the two came to the edge of the Forbidden Forest together.

Then, Professor Kettleborn took the lead in walking into a path that was hidden deep in the black jungle.

The forbidden forest was dark and silent; Matthew could hear the gurgling sound of water, and it was obvious that there was a stream nearby; in addition, he could also hear Professor Kettleborn's whistle.

Since entering the Forbidden Forest, this professor of Protecting Magical Animals was blowing a whistle in a frivolous tone.

And it's very unpleasant!

More importantly, Matthew still had a teapot in his hand and couldn't cover his ears.

After almost five minutes of enduring it—

"Meow!" A cat moan came from the front.

"You're finally here, little Tom!" Professor Kettleborn stopped whistling, and he squatted down and said intimately.

Then a cat emerged from the bushes.

More precisely, it is a creature similar to a cat... Its size is bigger than an ordinary domestic cat, with various spots on its fur, its ears are particularly large, and its teeth are sharp; in a sense, it may be more appropriate to say that it is a little tiger.

"Come on, Tom!" Professor Kettleborn took out a ham from somewhere, and threw it in the direction where the "little tiger" was.

The "little tiger" sniffed the ham, picked it up with its mouth, and then swaggered and walked towards the depths of the forbidden forest.

Professor Keitelborn quickly signaled Matthew to follow.

"Tom is a cat croaker. He is very smart and very familiar with the environment in the forbidden forest. It can help us find the nest of the blood-sucking monster." At the same time, he explained: "Of course, sometimes it is too smart..."

While speaking, Professor Kettleborn looked at the ham in Tom's mouth with some regret.

...

With the cat leading the way, the next journey seemed to be much smoother.

They walked a long way into the forbidden forest and arrived at a fork in the road... Tom, the cat, put down the ham and sniffed hard on both sides of the fork in the road. Soon, it clearly distinguished the direction, picked up the ham again, and walked into the road on the right.

Professor Kettleborn looked relaxed and comfortable, while Matthew looked around curiously and looked at the strange animals and plants very strangely.

From time to time, a dawn light shone down from the leaves above.

By chance, Matthew suddenly saw a piece of silver-blue blood on a fallen leaf.

He quickly stopped and wiped his eyes, but unfortunately the light suddenly dimmed again.

"Hurry up, Wakefield, don't fall behind alone. You must know that there are werewolfs in the Forbidden Forest!" Professor Kettleborn urged in front.

Matthew had no choice but to follow him quickly.

They walked past a mossy stump, and suddenly, Tom, the cat, stopped, and Professor Keitelborn, stopped.

In the bushes ahead, something was moving faintly, and it seemed to be very large and numerous...

Professor Kettleborn, whose face was a little laughing and joking before, suddenly became serious.

Then Matthew saw him lifting his wand.

Only a few "bang" sounds were heard, and a few ropes emerged from the end of his wand and flew into the bushes.

Then only a man's roar was heard.

A half-man and half-horse thing fell from the other side of the bush... Above the waist was a man, with black hair and beard, but below the waist was the horse's body, and a long horse tail was dragged behind it.

It was a horse man, but Professor Keitelborn's spell had easily subdued it.

Professor Kettleborn did not continue to look at the tightly bound horse man, his eyes still looked into the bushes-

His voice also became stern: "Ma people, you have violated the agreement signed with Professor Grindelwald, and you dare to leave the habitat assigned to you!"

Matthew noticed that the wand that was originally in Professor Kettleborn's left hand has now come to his right hand, the prosthetic arm.
