Chapter 16 Common Room

After the applause, Professor Troca sat down.

But Professor Grindelwald was still standing there.

"In addition, we want to welcome all first-year students!" he continued.

The applause rang again, much more enthusiastic than before.

"The moment you step onto the Hogwarts campus, this castle is like your home, it will shelter you and accompany your growth; no matter when and where you encounter any suffering, Hogwarts will be your most solid barrier!"

"But you must also abide by Hogwarts' discipline, rules and traditions. Professor Keitelborn asked me to remind you that students are prohibited from entering on campus; Mr. Pringer, the administrator, also hopes that it is absolutely not allowed to perform magic in the corridor; and Professor Rozier hopes that all of you know that lateness and failure to complete your homework will be severely punished..."

"... Even though Hogwarts is divided into four academies, the bond between magic and mystery has always connected us firmly. Harmony and unity are the wishes left since the four founders, so I don't want to see any unnecessary disputes appear in the castle..."

"... Finally, I would like to remind everyone that insulting names such as bastards and mud breeds are strictly prohibited in Hogwarts!" The principal said, and his shining eyes glanced at the Slytherin's long table: "If you don't believe this, you might as well give it a try."

"Now, before everyone goes to bed, let's sing the school song together!" Grindelwald said at last.

He waved his magic wand gently, and a long golden ribbon floated out, twisting and coiling lines of text like a snake on the high dining table.

Matthew noticed that the wand in his hand was somewhat different from the ordinary wand.

“Hogwarts, Hogwarts,

Hogwarts, Hogwarts,

Please teach us knowledge,

Whether we are bald old men,

Still a child who fell and injured his knee..."

Different students began to sing this school song according to different tunes.

It seems a bit funny in the auditorium.

Grindelwald's voice was the loudest, and his singing was the most beautiful.

"Music, let's sleep with everyone!" He wiped his eyes and said, "I wish you a happy year in the coming year."

...

Slytherin's first-year student followed Miss Gemma Farley, walked through the noisy crowd, out of the auditorium, and down the marble stairs.

After such a lively banquet, many people were a little tired; for example, Crab and Goll, yawning there for a long time.

They first came to the exit between the castle and the basement, then walked down the stone steps step by step and entered the gloomy underground corridor.

The light in the basement was a little dark, and it was almost a dozen steps away to see the lonely torches on the stone wall. Moreover, the corridor was very empty, and the sound of their footsteps was amplified, which sounded a little gloomy.

A ray of light flashed at the end of Farley's wand, leading them forward through forks.

Matthew kept observing the surroundings, trying to remember where they were at every turn.

Almost ten minutes later, they stopped beside an empty, wet stone wall.

After waiting for a while, a stone door appeared on the stone wall, with a green snake painted on it, and the snake's mouth bit its tail.

"As you can see, Slytherin's logo is the giant snake, the smartest creature." Farley introduced: "Also, the colors of our college are emerald and silver."

She gently touched the head of the snake on the stone door, and then said softly:

"Blood is thicker than blood!"

The snake on the stone door began to wriggle gently, and as it moved, the stone door was slowly opened.

"This is a password, change it once every two weeks, please check the bulletin board."

Then, they walked into Slytherin's common room-

It was only then that Matthew realized that the location of the Slytherin Common Lounge was at the bottom of the Black Lake.

The ceiling is transparent, you can see the rippling waves above and the fish swimming from time to time.

But apart from poor light, this place can barely be regarded as a comfortable circular room, with warm green flames burning in the fireplace and soft armchairs all around.

Farley guided the girls into one door and to their dormitory; after that, she took the boys into another door.

A rather spacious bedroom, perfectly enough to accommodate five people living here.

There are five traditional four-poster beds, with green silk curtains hanging on the bed cover and silver thread embroidery on them. There are many medieval tapestries on the surrounding walls, and silver lanterns hanging from the ceiling.

Matthew found the bed with his name written on it, and also saw that his luggage had been sent over.

Above the luggage, there is a slender carton; when you look closer, it says the trademark "Grigovic" and a line of small characters with the name "Garick Ollivander".

Is this your magic wand?

Matthew carefully opened the cardboard box, and the brand new black walnut walnut walnut walnut walnut walnut walnut walnut walnut walnut walnut walnut walnut walnut walnut walnut walnut walnut walnut walnut walnut walnut walnut walnut walnut walnut walnut walnut

The four roommates were exhausted. When Matthew raised his head, he found that they all changed into pajamas and fell to sleep.

Matthew himself was completely sleepy. He opened his suitcase and took out the items inside.

Until I saw the old book that was quietly staying there at the bottom of the suitcase.

"Are you doing all this?" Matthew asked softly.

He seemed to be talking to himself again.

Suddenly, a small voice came from the left.

The soft waves at the bottom of the lake outside the window smacked the windows.

Matthew turned his head and saw a giant octopus walking past the window under the faint light.

The octopus' huge eyes were staring at him.
